not much of a fight, Irene is pretty much Demi God tier in FT only bellow the likes of Acnologia and Dragon gods.

Sanin in FT are barely Mid tier in FT about the same level as Pre time skip Laxus/Erza

Jiraiya blitzes and turns her into a frog, Genjutsu her to death or Orochimaru just summons a squad of Edos.

Also Orochimaru can turn into White Snake. His blood is poisoned, and after that he absorbs her and steal his body.

Sannin have also perfect teamwork.

Ot. Equalize the battleground or Irene can't even use a single spell.

Chakra’s not much different than FT Magic, both being life energy. Irene’s ghost whose only a fraction of her normal power allowed Wendy to extract all the Magic out of that spider Dragon Slayer Nebaru.

Yes and? Chakra in Naruto comes from some space alien fruit. Still life energy and fills the same purpose as magic in FT enough to call them comparable. If we’re going to be this stingy, since chakra is such a specific energy source to the Naruto verse and Genjutsu involves manipulating the victims chakra and chakra network, Genjutsu works on no one outside the Naruto verse.

Irene Stomps, she has casual firepower that can oneshot the sannins and the frog song isn't instant (she could also arguably simply negate the genjutsu with her body anomaly canceling spell). She also face tanked (literally face tanked), a swing from Erza in human form so there's nothing the Sannin can do to hurt her, they are at best in the casual mountain range and she's comfortably above island busting bare minimum.

Edo Tensei is also not an option: not only it isn't that fast to cast, it also needs sacrifices to work so it needs prep-time.

@astaro: it's not the same thing. Chakra is generated by the body. Hence why they can use it other dimensions and why draining/ overusing it completely is fatal.

Magic is absorbed from and is consequently dependent on the environment. Hence why going to edolas merely depowers them and elentir amps them.

@edgelord91: How do you explain Selene using magic in a place with no ethernano? Or the DS using magic in the Ravines a Time or Natsu using magic in space? All these place wouldn't have Ethernano which means they should be "powerless" yet they weren't. It was only in edolas that they lost their ability to use magic and they could still use it after they took an x-ball which had nothing to do with replenishing their magic, but allowing them use it while in Edolas.

Anyone using they can't use magic outside of their verse as an actual argument is a joke. By that logic no one can since they haven't proven it.

Everytime genjutsu has been used it's been on something with chakra lol. Chakra is necessary for genjutsu.

This, basically. And on top of all that, the exeeds using magic in edolas without x-balls suggests that it's more like a "the air in the mountain sure is thin" type of situation than a real limitation.

If the mages couldn't ever use magic in edolas the x-balls wouldn't work, they are medicine not a super power, the people of edolas can't use x-balls to acquire magic, they still need lacrimas.

Happy and Carla couldn't use magic seconds after they arrived to edolas the 2 times they got there but they later can use magic without outside help, in the first place if it was so simple as they can't use magic because there's none to replenish they would've used it until they reserves ran out, not stop immediately.

Ignoring everything, is really in bad faith to say a character loses because there's no ethernano in the air, and if you want to be petty and difficult (in response to others being petty and difficult), there's also no proof that any verse lacks ethernano apart from edolas. You can only say with certainty that ethernano is either not known or is called by a different name XD.
