they are weaker than their past iterations, but they are still powerful in their own right. with speed equalized a continental character (irene) and a country+ level character (mirajane) should be more than capable of giving them a hell of a fight. in anime vs comic-book threads people have a bad habit of ignoring the anime characters feats and just blindly saying that the comic-book character stomps, it literally happens in every-thread like this. not saying you're doing that, but this fight isn't unfair in the slightest, and the outcome is definitely debatable.
