Infinity War Thor (with stormbreaker) VS Endgame Thanos

Do you guys think the fight would end differently?

Fight ends the same, thanos murders him

Thor can win. Keep him down with long range lightning attacks and then go for a kill.

I'd have actually argued he wouldn't since he fought like an idiot for the majority of his appearances. He used lightning on both Hela and Thanos when he was able to, so saying he doesn't do it just incorrect.

@kgb725: He's capable but he just doesn't do it because Thor is dumb.

@batman242: Thor used lighting on Hela when he finally realized he still had powers without his Mjnoir. Then he used it when Valkyrie knocked Hela down. Those are the only times. Never called down lighting when they were engaging in H2H.

As far as Thanos he only used it when Thanos wasn't focused on him and Thanos literally no-sold it.

@batman242: You said "keep him down with long range lighting". To me that implies he'd just spam lightning until Thanos is somehow down long enough for Thor to kill him. And like I said, he doesn't do that. Thor's lighting is weak.

Thanos can physically overpower him, but if Thor is smart enough to blitz/go all out then Thor has a big chance.

@batman242: Oh well. Thor still can't put Thanos down considering this was shown in IW. And usually when he shoots a lighting blast he'll get up close because he's dumb.

If Thor approaches Thanos like he did in IW he can win. If he fights like Ragnarok Thor with Stormbreaker he can win. If he fights like he did in Endgame he loses. Thor used and fought with his powers very well in Ragnarok.

Like uugie stated above, if Thor activates his god mode and fights intelligently and efficiently like he did in Ragnarok and IW then he can most likely succeed in taking Thanos down at least 4/10 times. Endgame Thor was noticeably weaker, didn’t access his god mode and was fighting like a chump whereas IW and Rag Thor were very much not.

If Thor doesn't fight like an idiot and get up close,what can Thanos do about Thor's flight? All Thor has to do is fly up out of reach from Thanks and stun him with a mega lightning blast, which will give him more than enough time to throw Stormbreaker and skewer him. Thanos got stunned and knocked down by Cap's lightning which was noticably weaker

Thor should win, his lightning can knock Thanos down so he just needs to do that and be quick landing a hit with Stormbreaker. Throwing it is too risky since he did catch it in Endgame and almost killed Thor with it. Thor has to fight pretty much perfectly and this can't be a drawn out fight

Thanos, thor wasn't actually much different due to three things

1, he wasn't even that fat

2, being fat doesn't nesseseraly affect an asgardian like it does a human, look at volstag

3 5 years is nothing to a being who is over 1,500 years old,

Not only that but he had stormbreaker and Mjolnir (for some parts) abd had access to his god mode

Thanos doesn't get tagged by lightning. Thanos used his sword at super speed to form a shield from Iron Man's Thor-powered multibeam. That's maybe a step off from the triple beam that melted Ultron. Thor by himself cannot get passed the defenses of Thanos.

Thanos still stomps. The only reason he lost the first time is because he got unlucky since the gauntlet energies and Stormbreaker's power were linked.
