Conditions: we are in 40k galaxy, but we don't know.We don't have psikers(our gene is particularry stable).

An inquisitor contacs the earth leaders requesting surrender to the great emperor of mankind. Our leaders refuse.

The inquisition discovers our planet has 50+ different religions, and not one includes the mighty emperor.

The inquisitor has just discovered a dark age of tecnology artefact.

He tests on our heretic planet. The artefact warps away all atomic and H bombs on our planet.

After this, the inquisitor, seen that our best weapon is gone , simply calls out a space marine chapter and one regiment of imperial guard, with some titans and some aircraft supporting:

Imperium team:.

Space marine chapter:

2 reavener titans:

Info here: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Imperial_Titan#.Ue05bY29CxU

Rules:

No viral/biological weapons for any side.

40k team can only use orbital attacks from the space marine vessels(very low-power attacks)

No exterminatus for 40k

As said before, 21st century earth has no nukes

No prep for 21st century earth, 1 month planning with basic info for 40k team.

21st century earth's nations will try to cooperate alot, but morals are on, and old bad blood isn't gone

We consider 40k win when majority(70%+)of G20's (Argentina,Australia,Brazil,Canada,China,European Union,France, Germany ,India ,Indonesia ,Italy ,Japan ,Mexico ,Russia ,Saudi Arabia ,South Africa ,south korea,Korea ,Turkey,United Kingdom ,United States) armies are dead or have surrendered.

Who wins?

@cadencev2 seen you debate about 40k, any opinion about how this would go?

@godemperorofmankind: It has been decided on 10 other websites that a SINGLE Space Marine Chapter can solo our planet. It is all about Space Superiority. They can destroy our Satelites and remain untouched in Orbit while raining Orbital Bombardment with ease.

Add tot hat they can easily target and wipe out via Drop Pod assault any key tactical areas on the planet. They can nuke our own Power Planets and wipe our world out with Radiation!

You added in Titans, Imperial Gurad, and more. This is a utter stomp in every way as we cannot deal with a enemy who has Space Superiority.

OK, i'll totally remove fleet, the SM can choose one location for deployment(with or without drop pods) and then their fleet is needed elsewhere.

Imo 40K takes this encounter.Terrain wise there isnt a place on Earth that would stop the advance like some planets in 40k.

Also smaller numbers than these have had to take control of worlds before either due to Chaos, or Xenos invasion.

we would be conquered in a few days, after their starships glass some of our biggest cities.

first contact would be the imperium announcing their attack on us and flying down to the UN to demand surrender, which they refuse to do. thus starts a onesided massacre.

Few things:

  1. It doesn't matter if we have WMDs. At all. They aren't of use here.
  2. Letting the Space Marine vessels.. the ones... designed for planetary bombardment.. be the ones who can do the bombardment is not low-power.. that is awful. There is a reason the Battle Barges have things called bombardment cannons. Hint, the normal Imperial Navy ships don't have those.
  3. This isn't a battle.

When I say 'this isn't a battle,' it is because no 'battles' are really going to happen. I am not sure if the idea was putting an army from 40k up against the modern day forces... but they aren't going to fight. The IG are unlikely to step a foot on the planet until it has already given up in this scenario. But, first, let us address something, our world isn't special. What would happen is communication would be established, we would have our minds blown, the Ecclesiarch would send agents whom have the single job of converting local human population into the Imperial Culture, and they are very good, and very experienced, at it. Also, being in the Imperium isn't all that bad for most planets, you get to keep your local government, local laws, all the fun stuff... as long as you don't worship chaos (which is now going to happen when we find out, hey, the Gods are real but they are jerks), give lip service to the Emperor and pay your tithes.

Now, assuming, for some reason this failed, and the Space Marines were called in. We lose. Why? Our satellites? Gone. We are now blind. Our airforce bases? Our navies? Gone. They were destroyed by precision orbital strikes. Our leadership? Dead or captured. What can you do against an alpha striking terminator squad teleporting into the oval office? Not a damn thing, that is what. Infrastructure? Crippled either by orbital strike, teleporting terminators or a drop pod full of Space Marines, and by the time we muster any semblance of a resistance to that individual strike, they are gone again.

We lose. By the time the IG step foot on the planet, and we see titans and realize, omg what is this, our leadership is gone, our infrastructure horribly crippled (Imagine what would happen in New York without plumbing or power? Yeah, bad things), and any real military force is shattered beyond resemblance. Then all they do is occupy and convert. We do more damage leading resistance efforts against the established IG and newly set up PDF (and since these are Cadians, we aren't outlasting them in terms of morale) and the Space Marines bugger off wondering why an entire chapter was needed for something a strike force could have accomplished.
