If Captain Marvel replaced Superman in Man of Steel, would she succeed?

Yes she if she faces the challenges in the same way Superman did the main challenge is her defeating the world engine but I think she can destroy it. She has better durability than all of the kryptonians in Man of Steel and she can fly just as if not faster than them, She is stronger then them and strikes harder than Faora and Nam Ek. No kryptonian has anything close to catching a building sized missile and than overpowering and tossing it though some of that may be argued to be propulsion she obviously threw the missle she pushed it with her arms. She can beat Zod, He is just a weaker version of Superman that doesn't use speed as effectively. She blast him pummels him and snaps his neck. Carol can defeat Man of Steel about the same difficulty as Man of Steel Supes, I think Marvel can beat Man of Steel Supes personally.

And dunno if she can ram through the World Engine. Plus she'd have no way to start the Phantom portal that took out Nam-Ek, Faora, and all the other Kryptonians on board Zod's ship. So yeah she definitely loses.

Replace Ronan's ship with the Krypton ships. She ends the movie before Smallville arc.

she clears as she isn't afraid of killing so zod dies before he destroys metropolis

She would lose to Nam-Ek/Faora and also to Zod. She would have an easier time with the World Engine, if for no other reason than she has more large ship busting feats (seems to be her specialty) and she’s not Kryptonian so the atmosphere wouldn’t slow her down like it did for Clark.

Can’t remember anything else notable from the movie though in terms of challenges...

She should clear. Zod is the only challenge, and he’s not gonna be able to win if she doesn’t allow him to finish adapting quick enough. And unlike Clark, I don’t think she’d hesitate to kill him or try to reason with him.

Kree and Skrull have stats way below Captain, and her only fighting feats are beating them.

I mean one of the Skulls have been disarmed and beaten up by Fury while driving a car and died because of car crash.

Kree's only advantage over Skrulls is their tech, without they are useless as others.

She flat out dies against Faora and Nam-Ek.

She hasn't even shown that she's faster than Spiderman in combat speed

In man of steel superman and Zod punches were movie at the speed of sound and superman even managed to dodge some of those punches even if they were movie at 1235 km/h (767 mph)

• Tanked the entire firepower of Sanctuary II.
• Physically overpowered Thanos with ease (multiple times)
• Tanked multiple blows from Thanos (Thanos was capable of making EG Thor bleed with a single punch)
• Caught an enormous hypersonic missile and threw it back the way it came (which means not only stopping the weight but also counteracting the forward momentum).
• Completely obliterated Sanctuary II with a single bullrush.
• Completely obliterated a Kree warship (same design as Ronan's) with a single bullrush.
• Travelled at FTL+ speeds multiple times (Captain Marvel + Endgame).
• Survived a punch from a Power Gem wielding Thanos with no visible injuries (although she did get knocked out).
