@joygirl:
I can assure you that Cap knocking out The Hulk is absurd. I mean if that was his actual power level then how would he have survived any of his many encounters with the army?
I can't speak for other debaters but I generally find it's better to present more concrete Hulk feats rather than the less quantifiable ones, ie The Hulk's dimensional destruction feats.
I'm more inclined to post scans of him generating more force than the fiercest hurricane with a thunderclap, wielding tectonic plates, crushing adamantium, trading blows with Thor, his team-busting escapades, planetary destruction and of course his reaction/speed feats.
This question is often asked in a mean way (it shouldn't) but I must know. How would you rate your knowledge on The Hulk?
I sometimes fall into the trap of looking up low showings to make other characters look weak. This is sometime an effective tool in debates, but it spoils otherwise good stories.
I actually did this with a character you seem to enjoy, namely Black Adam. I actually picked up a very cheap trade of WWIII, just to see whether or not BA was really so impressive. My internal goal was to make Black Adam seem weak, and not without some success.
I combed the pages and panels in a desperate search for combat statistics and then stopped. I was losing sight of the character by only focusing on low balling him. I started the comic again from the beginning and it was pretty good. If we treat other characters as mere obstacles in the way of our favorites then we become rabid fanboys. It's better to acknowledge the true strength of both characters when debating, rather than low balling. Heck even high balling both is preferable.
I'm not perfect, in fact just earlier in this thread I made a snap judgement vis a vis Banner's intellect versus Sivanna's. I didn't have enough info to make that claim. Could you post feats of Sivanna's tech?
