How strong do you have to be to one shot MCU Cap with a punch?
@texasdeathmatch: Well Cap had Thor's stats + he wasn't out of shape like fat Thor.
There is no one good answer to this.
Looking at this from one perspective - we've seen him struggling vs human characters such as Batroc, and X-bones... and being beaten to a bloody pulp and having prolonged KO, waking in the hospital and all... by Bucky of all characters. And he's just a mid street level.
Based on this, he would be peak human, an average high street level should be easily able to one shot him.
But his highball includes feats like shrugging punches from a 20+ tonner Iron man, fighting Ultron and Loki 1vs1, both of which can stand up to Thor, and even taking a punch from Thanos with full IG. And it didn't even give Cap a black eye or make him spit a tooth. He just kinda got up seconds after.
Based on this he is a massive multi tonner character, a high end mid tier at worst, and anything less than a serious Hulk punch would never take him out.
So the answer is... there is no answer. Cap is as strong and durable as movie needs him to be. He would believable equally struggle against Black Widow and the Hulk in CQC.
@trololololol: I don't know, too many contrasting opinions and "facts" from the creators for me to agree on that. That fight scene was one giant fan service moment; I think we should all agree while it was super dope, we should disregard it for feats since it was pretty nonsensical.
@texasdeathmatch: Cap also took a strike from Thor's Mjolnir to the shield in Avengers with no effects. He just got up like nothing happened.
And in Winter Soldier, he takes a small caliber grenade to the shield, and it sends him flying, disarms him and KO's him for a few moments.
Cap is one of the most inconsistent characters to ever exist. There's no point debating and pin-pointing his stats.
@comicgirl21: Agreed. Though goddamn do I love Winter Soldier.
Striking power has to be better than Iron Man's (older standard suits) or Bucky's (bionic arm). Definitely also depends on where and how he's hit. He can soak hits from a casual Loki as far back as Avengers 1. He also took multiple hits from Ultron Prime. Things that can ko him in one hit don't necessarily keep him down for long either but they would count for the purpose of this thread. So I'd say the strongest Iron Man suits, Thor, Hulk, etc. can one-shot if Cap doesn't block. With the shield, he could tank any of their punches. Thanos did what no one else did and overloaded the shield with a punch like he did to Black Panther's suit. Cap at his absolute best with Thor's stats hard stops at Thanos level striking (if it hits him in the head). As for Infinity War, Thanos was greatly weakened by the time he got to Wakanda and was letting the stones do most of the work. But even then, normal Cap can't take a punch from him. So we know he definitely stops before Thanos level striking.
You say "how strong" as if physical strength matters.
Only reality warpers can even hope to make Cap flinch, strong or not they won't cut it.
plot devices aside, a 10 tonner will punch a whole clear through him. Cap, much like Batman, from comics to film, has always been a by product of plot armor but i think we can all agree that under proper writing, their just low level superhuman at best.
@texasdeathmatch: Yeah I know Cap's feats were BS. He was literally massively outperforming Thor even though it was the first time Cap had used Mjolnir.
Anyways, since it was his last appearance, he needed a really big moment to shine.
@comicgirl21: nice analysis

apex is that rly you? *^^* so honored! Big fan bruh!
@comicgirl21: wow I have a fan!
@apex_pretador: are you kidding bro? I could be a founding member of your groupies lul. Your Thanos vs Odin CaV was absolute, distilled epicness, and what got me into CaVing a couple years back. You're a legend AP, you gotta OWN IT man!
@comicgirl21: heh, thanks. I consider Thanos vs Odin my best effort till now on CV. Took me over a year to post the closer, but I did it somehow.
Although I do a lot more live action now, nothing compares to debating with 616 Thanos.

50 Tons should do it
He’s truly a plot device

with lowball, hulks infinite dimension shaking punch level, highball he gets one shot by outerversal or boundless character
If you watched IW, you'd know he'll only die to characters above Thanos
