Gear 4 Luffy. How many A bombs does it take to knock him out?
How many nukes does it take to beat Monkey D Luffy?
He's never shown heat resistance feats in the hundreds of thousands of degrees, I'm gonna say one nuke at point blank vaporizes him Haki and all, but anything further than 100-300m and he should be able to tank an indeterminate amount of nukes until he dies of radiation poisoning.
@leo-343: That wasn't necessarily a nuclear device, not even sure they have that tech in One Piece.
@leo-343: Well it seemed implied, apologies.
One. Anything beyond that would be a ridiculous outlier.
Yea I'm not seeing him tank even one.
Realistically one nuke up close should turn his rubber body to ash, In the OP verse however, it would leave him bruised and very damaged, he would still stand up after that tho, thats just how the OP verse works
5, to the face, consecutive, MAYBE would knock him out
Idk in One Piece big ass explosions don't really do much depending on the character, in Film Z, Z set off a Dyna Rock explosion which was island level, dwarfing the power of a nuke and he was shown later on as if nothing happened and he was=< Luffy
@longman: Nuclear detonations are absurdly hot, in the hundreds of thousands of degrees at the center of the fireball. Nothing in One Piece come close in temperature, not even Akainu.
@trueaustralian: IIRC, he took an island busting nuke from a very powerful concentrating lightning bolt: https://youtu.be/cLswR0YxinQ?t=6m17s
However Luffy is inherently resistant to lightning. Still, that doesn't mean he's resistant to its enormous heat... But turns out he also is.
That was pretty early in the series.
The fireball from a nuclear explosion reaches blackbody temperatures greater than 10 7 K
Lightning on the other hand peaks at around 30,000 kelvin
One significantly big one.
I feel like people are going to assume this thread concludes that Luffy is much less durable than Thing, but his durability just works in different ways. He's not protected from general energy attacks or other factors a nuke would produce.
I thought he might when you said Luffy is stronger than a nuke.
