Purpose of the Hall of Fame

Contrary to what most may believe, the HOF is about more than just back patting and recognition. It's about endorsing the values we want to see more of on our forum. There is an old saying, you catch more flies with honey...and it's true. Recognize the things you like with praise and more will want to do them for the recognition. This is your chance to positively influence our community.

Please no negative comments about any user or anyone's choice. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

The Purpose of the HOF endorse the values we wish to see in the Battle forums by giving recognition to those who best encompass these values and have had a positive influence on this community. Of course this is also to recognize those who have shown exception debating skill during their time on vine.

Please be respectful when voting and respect other voters choices. It is acceptable to express any dissatisfaction with people being voted, but please do so in a respectful manor and provide constructive criticism.

Rules for the Nomination Round

• You can still vote for people on the nominee list, but you can also expand it.
• To get on the nominee list you have to be nominated, have it seconded and endorsed (in other words three votes in total).
• You cannot nominate yourself.
• To be eligible for nomination as per all previous HOF rounds, you have to have been a forum member for over a year.
• You cannot nominate members that are currently banned from the site.
• Feel free to nominate as many people as you feel are worthy to be on the list of nominees.
• To make nominations, you must have a minimum post count of 1000.
• Tag the person you're nominating, @ for it to be counted
• Be respectful. Do not berate and insult anyones votes. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I'd like to say some of my better debates include

vs indominus

Vs Streak (Dr Strange Vs Amalgam)

Silver Surfer vs Superman (Annihilators vs Justice leage)

The last one is more or less just me exposing a troll but it does, like the others showcase what I'd like to think I'm good at. Verifying the context of feats and examining them critically, using solid logic to argue, not committing many argumentative fallacies and also pointing out poorly represented or misinterpreted instances. I'd like to think in terms of pure reasoning abilities I'm up there, in regards to my ability to make a concise and logically sound argument. If I'm wrong its usually due to my itself premise being incorrect, however I try my best not to make contradictory and non-fallacious arguments. In terms of knowledge I have quite a bit to go I'll admit, my goal is to be on the level of users like dondave and killemall who have near encyclopedic knowledge of feats. I'll also admit that sometimes I myself can miss the context of a feat, and my old-school style of debating is controversial for sure, which I'm working on adapting to current viewpoints.

These are people I feel should be in the list. They've shown awesome debating skills, and they never came down to act toxic in debates.

for now the only one I'm thinking of nominating is @darthjhawk . I'll think about others later on.

The two clear standouts to me who aren't on that list

• @toratorn(if he gets allowed/is allowed) - Easily the most knowledgable comic debater I've ever debated against, knows more about characters I'm "experts" on than me. Also singlehandedly changed comic debating on the vine and changed a lot of comic "experts" and "respected" comic debaters minds when it comes to consistency/scaling/quantifiable feats, which I can't say for anyone else.
• @bladeoffury - Easily the most creative debater on the vine, bar none. His strategies might be dumb sometimes, but going into a tourney with overpowered characters and doing that well isn't that impressive, going in with random street tiers and running shit is impressive.

Both of these deserve to be in the HoF imo due to their creativity/knowledge, regardless of how you feel about their opinions or even their actual debating skill.

@graysonblake: @nightrider1000: Hi, I want to emphasize the requirements for nominations, as listed above, which include:

Also, just for everyone to note, the person you are nominating has to have been a member for at least a year.

BoF is already nominated

I’m fairly new here, but from what I’ve seen, @morningstar999 and @delein have been great, although we had some disagreements. Solid debaters and good sports. @number3561 also gets one from me, he keeps me on my toes with my Bleach theorisations, and he knows his stuff.

Folks, I'm sorry but I am deleting all nominating posts that are made by anyone who less than 1000 posts.

AGAIN: YOU CANNOT MAKE A NOMINATION UNLESS YOU HAVE AT LEAST 1000 POSTS.

We love you for your enthusiasm, that is great. However we have to follow our rules, which are set up to both avoid trolling and to make sure that nominations come from a certain level of experience on the part of the nominator. That is not to say that the people whose posts that I deleted are trolls; you seemed sincere and we appreciate that. If you can't make a nomination now, hopefully you can make some nominations in the next round several months from now.

You can still be a part of this conversation, but you can't make nominations, and I am deleting them so we don't have clutter that makes the total count harder to figure out.

I appreciate the nomination, but I'm not eligible as I was inducted into the 2014 Hall of Fame.

I wasn't aware that you cannot nominate people already in the HOF. My bad then

Nominating @claymore1998 who should've long gotten into the HoF. Her debates with other HoF'ers and various forum posts all showcase her knowledge and argumentative ability and I plan on doing a lil campaigning for her later if I have to.
