- Takes place in a forest
- They start around 50 feet away (visible)
- Rey has a lightsaber and her staff
Hermione vs Rey
Hermione wasn't a fighter.....
she could do fine...
I'm not sure if the lightsaber can deflect magic. Anyway Rey won't be able to close the distance without being hit imo
The hot chick wins
Is that the one with the British accent?
@waking_dreamer: A blaster pistol shoots faster rounds and at a faster rate and can sometimes deal splash damage. Wand are harder to aim, on account of not having sights. The most typical of dueling spells cause unconsciousness, have enough force to crack stone or cause disarmament whereas blasters deal fatal energy damage. HP are actually street busters or close to it but that level of DC is never used in fights by the characters.
Rey wins because she's faster and has better aim by virtue of being force sensitive and can fire more rounds more accurately.
I guess Rey is the new chosen one or something..?
Her midichlorian count must be double Anakin's. xL
Mastery in an hour? Too strong. xP
Hermione stomps with magic though.
Unless someone wants to prove to me conclusively that magic is not energy, there's nothing to suggest the protego charm couldn't stop the blaster bolt. It has been used to stop both physical objects and impacts, as well as highly deadly and lethal spells. By eos, every main character could whip one of these up silently and instantaneously. In fact, Hermione was so fast with it, she drew her wand and conjured one up between Ron and Harry before either could even reach for their wands.
Also, range doesn't matter since Hermione can apparate anywhere within the area. Give how fast she had to do so, both in book and movie, I highly doubt Rey will be able to shoot her first before Hermione starts apparating around. It's not like she wouldn't, since she's a muggleborn and knows what guns are capable of, unlike say, a pureblood or a wizarding-raised halfblood.
If she was being creative, there are several dozen spells she could use to end this immediately, but if she wanted to end this quickly, then she'd use either a blasting curse, a stunner, or, less likely, the petrification spell, and Rey wouldn't be able to stop any of them.
Hermione wins, low difficulty, if any at all.
Hermoine, easily
hermione wins since rey is untrained. id say upclose rey would win, since most wizards cant fight with fists or have the agility of rosie o donald.

or the one born on april?
@nerdchore: Eh, she's certainly faster since she could keep up with Kylo, who even hindered could keep up with Finn, who was trained since birth to fight and should be pretty fast considering he was outdrawing FO Stormtroopers. Rey's feat of pulling the Falcon out of the wrecked Star Destroyer is a better reaction feat than Hermione has IMO. She's shown basic aiming skills and by logic that should go up, since the Force lends precision to more than just saber skills, like piloting.
EDIT: Kylo still retained superhuman speed when hindered, based on his beating Finn and Rey to the forest despite their tremendous head start and both of them being extremely athletic.
Hermione wasn't a fighter.....
Oh that is why she has incapacitated the most death eaters out of any student?
Rey masters all Hogwarts magic by closing her eyes and believing in herself, then proceeds to solo the Potterverse with her awesome wand skills because that staff of hers translates to all weapons.
@picard: Depends on how you interpret 'weak willed' to be in SW. Mind tricks have worked on FO Stormtroopers, who have been trained since birth, so they should have great resolve. Book 4 Hermione was unable to resist being put under the Imperius Curse, and Barty made her act like a beaver but that curse is pretty powerful, affecting Ron (who has sacrificed himself for his friends in book 1), Neville (who defied Voldemort to his face), Barty Jr. (who arguably has insanity amped willpower, can study harder than Hermione and is controlled enough to impersonate someone for months) and Moody. She also has more willpower than Ron, since she could handle the locket's influence under terrible living conditions. She could also resist Bellatrix's torture which may have used the Imperius curse, although it wasn't mentioned.
IMO it won't be an issue since mind tricks are rarely used in combat but I think Hermione could resist, since she'd be more on guard due being in combat, but it Rey had Hermione tied up or had the opportunity to try her hardest at leisure and really worm her way in like Kylo can and like she did to him then I think she might be able to influence Hermione.

The imperious curse is one of the three unforgivable curses, and is therefore unable to be defended against by any means, spell or willpower. While I agree Hermione would be able to resist Jedi Mind trick, I do not think that the skill's power can be compared to the imperious curse: they are on to absolutely different levels.
@cloudsolid: "Rey masters all Hogwarts magic by closing her eyes and believing in herself, then proceeds to solo the Potterverse with her awesome wand skills because that staff of hers translates to all weapons."
Are JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan scripting this battle? If not I don't like Rey's chances. If so Rey Force Freezes Hermione, grabs her wand, takes it apart with only a rusty screwdriver and a paper clip, re-engineers it so that it fires back upon the person wielding it, releases Hermione and then laughs as her magic is turned back on her.
Ron and Harry then declare their undying love for Rey and each ask for her hand in marriage. At which point she says "Stop holding my hand!"
Whoever gets the first shot in wins. I don't remember what kind of reaction feats Hermione has but she's miles more intelligent than Rey is. If Hermione can block blaster fire then Rey is a goner.
