Madrox is an olympic level athlete, trained in multiple fighting styles, and able to produce hundreds of copies of himself. WIth no prep, like they just bump into each other out in the world, how is Pym going to defeat Madrox? Pym would get swarmed. With prep is a different story, there Pym would use his big brain and find away to beat him.
Madrox's ability isn't all that powerful if you look at it straight on, but if you look at clever ways that it can be aplied, then you start to see how dangerous of a character he is...dangerous mind you, not powerful.
Whats Pym gonna do? Turn real small and try to pick off the dupes one by one? Turn real big and try to smash him, creating more dupes?
Pym flys up to Madrox and uses his now innate ability to shrink Madrox to 1/2 inch tall. He then uses this power to repeatedly shrink Madrox, past the point where 99.99% of his mass has been lost. This will force Madrox in to the Subatomic universes that this method of shrinking can access. We never see Madorx again.
