And a grizzly bear can kill a one ton moose without much trouble, and it has claws.  The gorilla looses.

The cat is not fighting the dog, it's running from it.  If dogs could climb, the cat population would drop.  Will intelligence save a Troodon from a Tyrannosaurus Rex?  No it won't.

A Gorilla is far smarter than a cat.
also a Gorilla is stronger than the grizzly
A Gorilla can press 4.000 pounds fully grown
A Bear can press maybe 1000-2000 pounds at max(Stated on animal channel)

No it isn't.  Animal planet is a laughable source of info, when you study Zoology and get a degree in it, then you can talk.  Bears have claws, they kill mooses that weigh over a ton, they kill two ton bison that would murder a gorilla.  The Bear would slice open the stomach of the gorilla then snap it's neck.

It's proof that gorillas aren't as powerful as you give them credit for.  If they were as powerful as you said, they'd be able to take on Bisons, a Bison would gore and beat a gorilla to death.  Bears are one of the major predators of Bison.  Thus the Bear is the superior animal, also benching is not a good measure of power for animals.  A tyrannosaurus can only bench half a ton due to it's short, now found to be three fingered arms.  But it is the most powerful land carnivore to exist.  Bears can exert massive force with their well designed paws which are equipped with six inch claws.

Wow, apparently you need to study up on HUMAN physiology. Average man weighs about 180, and considered physically athletic if they can even bench their own weight.

Gorilla's arent exactly known for their finesse. what, do you think he's going to try to rope-a-dope the bear? No. The gorilla is going to try to do the same thing the bear is going to try to do, which is charge and destroy it's opponent.

Bears, though, have the advantage in weaponry. Claws, and teeth. True, gorillas also have teeth, but they are primarilly herbivours. Plus, their heads are much less nimble than a bear's. Every play keep away from a dog? Pretty good with those teeth arent they? Now imagine if somebody played keep away with you, and you had to use your mouth. Gorillas are set up more like us than like a dog, which is the oppostie for the bear.

Bear will grapple with the gorilla, gorilla will be bitten, and wounded. Bears fight like sumo wrestlers, they push, then they pin, then they maul. (they diverge a bit from sumo during the pin and maul portion, haha) Gorilla is not built for this kind of fight and it is going to die.

Where the hell did you get the idea that a 500 pound gorilla can press four tons?

A Sumatran Leopard would most likely often single out and target the dominant male as he is the farthest from the group, it'd push him to the ground and crush his wind-pipe, as cats try to do.  Both animals have been extinct for a while though.  But It's a good example

If a gorilla is said to be about as strong as 8-15 men, and the average man can lift 180 lbs. Then that means at most it can only lift around 2700 lbs.
