How does One-Punch-Man's punches really work? Does he just walk up to someone and punches them dead? Or does he have some sort of force them allows him to fly and strike?
Golden Frieza vs Saitama

Author statements? Saitama one shots
Frieza blows the planet, can Saitama with his infinite trenght and durability survive without oxygen?
With infinite speed he can jump to another planet
@irhp87: They aren't really contradictory. How much one can lift doesn't necessarily mean it'll factor into how much one can strike with.

What does infinite speed even mean? Time stop?
Thread is stupid.
There's a reason people don't follow statements.
Namek saga Frieza wins.

Even if you think the threat is stupid, if the statement is allowed even Whis wouldn't win against saitama. And we all know that whis is highly rated because of a statement. In his universe Saitama is TOAA powerwise. He is the MAN and all other characters(especially his disciple the cyborg guy) are jobbing to make a villain look strong and he just finishes in one punch. But I don't know for how long that is going to stay interesting.
So a joke from the author is permitted in a battle thread.
Ok.
Welll
1. It wasn't a joke
2. If it was, One Punch man is a joke/action manga. I don't see why a joke/action statement wouldn't be allowed.
Frieza blows the planet, can Saitama with his infinite trenght and durability survive without oxygen?
Watch the opening of the anime. In it, saitama can be seen floating through space.
@rukelnikovftw: It means one can effectively be everywhere in the universe at once simply by moving.
You know Golden Frieza's mere presence shook the entire universe. Yeah..........it happened..........and he's still not the strongest being in DB.

@micah: when did Golden Frieza shake the universe?
@alextheboss: In Chapter 5 of the Super manga the narration stated his mere presence shook the universe.
@micah:I looked at it. I'm pretty sure it is just supposed to be a hyperbole.
@micah:I looked at it. I'm pretty sure it is just supposed to be a hyperbole.
Doubtful considering Goku and Beerus did the same thing during their fight. Probably legit.
Not many people win against Saitama when author statements are allowed.
Frieza mainly loses because he doesn't know how strong Saitama is. Can Saitama deal with long-range attacks? Because if so, Frieza could simply explode him the same way he did Krillin, assuming he can tag Saitama.
@micah: Maybe while fighting he shook the universe, but not by his mere presence.
@micah: Maybe while fighting he shook the universe, but not by his mere presence.
Well the narration says "mere presence". So that was not something I just made up.
@micah: I didn't say you made anything up, I'm just saying the narrator was exaggerating. Also for all we know it could be a bad translation. We will see in a few months in super what happens.

I never accused you of saying I made anything up. Just stating "mere presence" was in fact used. I considered the possibility of a bad translation, however the same thing was stated on the best translation sites, so I think that rules out a mistranslation. As for hyperbole well I'm not sure why the narrator would exaggerate.......not even sure if the narrator can exaggerate. What would make you say that?
@micah: So that was not something I just made up.
That just sounded like you thought I was saying you were making it up.
The narrator was talking about how Frieza was feared threw-ought the galaxy and his mere presence shook the universe. It just kind sounded like the narrator was hyping Frieza up, I wouldn't use it to gauge his strength. However Golden Frieza should be even stronger than God Goku, so his punches should be able to shake the universe.
@alextheboss: Could be. I just immediately didn't think it was that considering the previous feats of Goku and Beerus. Though if his presence did do that I wouldn't be surprised.
Frieza wins. Sorry OPM, no one shots for you.
Edit: Author's words are stupid.
As stupid as the guy who only knows how to name his characters after food?
Saitama one-shots everything. It's the crux of his character. He has no limitations, because that's how ONE made him. Toriyama gave Frieza definite limits. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's any less true.
You sound like screw attack lol, also I take manga over the author statement.
@darthaznable: overrated or overpowered?

Saitama threads are pointless, yeah. That's the point of him to be OP, like Superman but uh Super-er and people that try and bring up "feats" in these threads ,that's kinda pointless too because his thing is to be OP that's a feat in itself plus we still haven't even seen him try or break a sweat doing anything (besides trying to catch&kill that mosquito) so of course you won't see him try unless he gets thrown into another universe with more Hims or Unlimited Power characters.
But then that would be a paradox, how could infinity beat infinity
@darthaznable: overrated or overpowered?
Overrated. Everyone always brings up author statements. Feat wise he hasn't done anything to warrant his so called "power".
@darthaznable: I guess I get what you're getting at but 2 things 1.Author Statements are most likely the most reliable source of a characters powers/strength etc because I mean what ever the author says about a character is practically canon because you know that's his creation and 2.When it comes to feats you won't see anything from Saitama because he can't be tested and he's always holding back in hopes for at least a decent fight
@darthaznable: but then again the story is about a hero who hates how powerful he is

Whats funny about this comment is that no one has ever posted a scan or link of the author's statements. So many people will comment any thread with Saitama 'Author Statements', but no one has actually posted a source to this. I'm beginning to think those statements are false, and incredibly made up. It's almost bad as the lie some idiots managed to use for years in regards to Will Smith hating his actual father.
@zzagirl: you lost me on the Will Smith thing but yeah you're right about the author statements I haven't seen any either , I'll try and look for some

There was an episode where Will met his father for the first time in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. In the episode, towards the end, he received some alarming, disappointing news, and started yelling in anger. Some people, for some reason, came to the conclusion that Will actually hated his biological father. No one ever confirmed if he did or not either, they just spouted nonsense that was taken seriously and considered factual till a photo of him and his father with a happy expression finally surfaced.
@zzagirl: I feel bad that I didn't see that episode

http://onepunchman.wikia.com/wiki/Interviews
Only interview there is IIRC.
OPM wankers everywhere.
There is no statement of author of OPM saying he can hit with big bang force and etc.
Its just a false rumor made by OPM wankers
Using authors statement isnt really valid to the extent of infinity. Thats like saying akira making the statement that goku could eventually surpass whis and get eventually infinitely stronger would also be valid. It just hasn't happened yet and the author could change there mind or could be exaggerating. Golden frieza golden stomps.
