All right, ladies and gentlemen. The battle forum mods have decided that the time has come… for a test, of sorts.

For one week, starting today, the rules shall read as thus regarding DBZ on the battle forums:

DBZ, DB, GT, and all parts of the Dragonball franchise, may be matched up against and alongside anime / manga characters. This only includes characters who originate in anime or manga; it does not allow characters who originate in other media (like video games, comics, or movies) that get an anime / manga adaptation.

The one week time limit can be altered. It can be permanent if all goes well. If things don’t go well, then the time can be cut short. As always, read the battle forum rules. Please make sure that it still fits the criteria of a battle, and make sure that it is a fair matchup.

Don’t blow it, and – if you don’t like DBZ or anime – don’t ruin this for everyone else. Keep such feelings to yourself and stay out of threads you do not have interest in.

Users who go into threads just to slam DBZ will be given a warning, right off the bat.

As always, if there is a problem, contact a battle forum mod.

Silver Surfer is a comic character. This rule only applies to DB/Z/GT vs. Anime/Manga.

it's a well known fact that toriko has been inspired by multiple series like dbz and fist of the north star. The author himself had stated it. Hell in the recent chapter we see scans of the monkeys doing the fusion dance. A daily reminder that toriko is awesome because it adapted so many things.

Toriko isn't on SSJ Goku's level yet but he's getting there..

I know,but there is a difference between influenced and ripping off.Goku was influenced by Journey of the West(and Superman),but doesn't he's a rip off.Toriko is an good character/series regardless.

@homicidalmaniac: only thing goku and superman have in common was they escaped a dangerous situation as kids . Toriko however is entirely different, the constant use dbz reference is iconic.

In pair arc when toriko and others get demoralised by the sheer power of bambina, the entire chapter is a ripoff of king kais planet training with the Z fighters.

• Z warriors /4 kings are made to train by catching bugs /gremory (grass hopper)
• Zebra /piccolo refuse to train with others. Because it looks stupid. So they train alone by themselves.
• Kaka /king kai is impressed at the fast rate they are adapting.

There are many chapters like this some ripped off of jjba as I said it's awesome because it has its own blend into it.

@flashback0180: Goku and Superman are both aliens sent from planets that exploded, there both kind hearted and have a strong sense of justice. They both have a similar power set and both are usually the last of their kind(with obvious exception Zod, Vegeta, Cara, Gohan,etc..) There also the leader of their respective teams. Not to mention they both have double names(Clark Kent and Kal El, Goku and Kakarot)

That's a basic characteristics of a hero. Gokus personality is identical to wukong. Goku is pure of hearts , If goku had a very single negative thought in his mind he would have died, he had been stated to be as pure as a new born infant.

They both have a similar power

Not even close, when did Clark start shooting kamahameha, instant transmission, solar flares, after images, kienzan, ssj1, 2,3 transformations, a giant ape transformation and a god transformation .

And its funny cos according to cracked - superman himself is a ripoff of people like old series like gladiator.

Current Toriko would probably beat non SSJ Goku. But SSJ Goku probably a bit too strong. Not a stomp though.

Toriko might just be strong enough to beat a ssj1 Goku depending on what happen in the manga, but I still got to go with Goku who is 100% planet buster unlike Toriko who potentially is one, but again I need to wait and see.

@omega_kai: One Piece,Naruto,Toriko,and others were influenced by DB,but are they the same?Not really,creators get influences from things they really enjoy or people/events in their lives.They input them into their series to make into its own thing.The creator of Toriko did took elements from Dragon Ball,but he took a unique spin on them.Hell you want call something a ripoff,Dragon Ball rip itself off or just Fairy Tail.
