@richard96:
Geralt beat both Imlerith and Eredin, but he would have been killed by detlaff if not for Regis. I guess detlaff is above the wild hunt.
That's ABC logic. Geralt also beat Detlaff fair and square in their second bout, and with seemingly less effort than he beat Imlerith with. All of these guys are so close together in overall "power" that losing one fight doesn't automatically mean character A > B, IMO.
@reaverlation:
That Dettlaff is better than them in every category. In strength, no one in the Wild Hunt is on his level since lesser vampires like Garkins are more powerful than Fiends and Dettlaff is superior to the lesser and higher vampires.
How does any of that scale to the Wild Hunt?
Or that they can't match his raw speed like when Dettlaff took the second knight Ramon De Lac, from a dinner table full of guests, so fast that nobody even saw what happened.
They kept up with Geralt just fine, who in turn handled Detlaff's speed. Plus, they have the teleportation to fall back on.
The fact that despite Geralt having already fought the generals of the Wild Hunt, he would've lost to Dettlaff in their first fight if it weren't for Regis interfering.
He also beat him solo in their second fight.
Dettlaff is clearly shown to be Geralt's toughest opponent and most powerful beside maybe Vilgefortz. Dettlaff has everything over the Wild Hunt
None of that translates to him soloing both Eredin and Imlerith with no effort.
Cause nobody in the Wild Hunt is as strong as a Fiend let alone Dettlaff who eclipses them in strength
Just stop. Despite Geralt beating the generals and dealing with various teleportation, skill sets and physicality of Wild Hunt members, that experience wasn't enough when he encountered Dettlaff for the first time since Geralt would've lost if it weren't for Regis interferring
He didn't beat him solo. Regis again was there but this is after Geralt has experience fighting Dettlaff from earlier.
Yes it does since Dettlaff is in a different league and would like to see anything to make them a threat as serious as Dettlaff is. Hell even when Geralt fought Oriana, despite having experience with all of this, Geralt again had trouble fighting her. Dettlaff has every advantage over either generals of the Wild Hunt
