Geralt of Rivia (Netflix The Witcher) vs Jaime Lannister (HBO Game of Thrones)

Rules:

1. Swords only. Geralt can't use Signs or Potions.

2. Both have armor usually worn in their respective TV Shows.

3. The duel is NOT to the death. Yielding is allowed and will be respected.

4. Both Geralt and Jaime are in character.

5.Location: Open Battlefield.

Geralt takes this, he has better actual skills showings and he's a casual arrow timer.

If I'm being honest, Netflix Geralt would even take Arthur Dayne from the books.

Geralt is an outright superhuman. Jaimie is just really skilled. This is a massive miss-match.

Jaime is cut down as an afterthought

As a game of thrones superfan who’s only seen the first three episodes of Witcher, Geralt wins. Sorry Jaime but he’s way above u in skill

I'll take the devils advocate position here...

Jaime is considered one of the most skilled swordsman in the show.

While being severely weakened, and chained, he held his own against Brienne.

He has a offscreen feat of cutting down 10 men, which surpasses Geralts Blaviken feat ( and he used signs for that ).

Jaime has full plate armor, making him much more durable then Geralt in leathers.

Its likely that Jaime can replicate any of the feats Geralt has done in the show vs human characters. Blaviken? No problem. Renfri? No problem. Cintra Throne? No problem. Dragon Raiders? No Problem.

As for the arrow timing, its been shown that people can do this in real life, people way, way less skilled and experienced then Jaime is.

In a pure sword fight, Jaime takes it for sure. His feats and accolades surpass Geralt's.

@Aristeaus: It’s a really good human master swordsman. Vs a superhuman master swordsman that can use magic and dodge lightning. Geralt has ridiculously improved since Blaviken and he has multiple feats of beating more than 10 armed men at once.

@krisbishop: Purely ignoring majority of Geralts swordsmanship feats is kinda lame man. Considering that Geralt has fought better swordsmen than Jamie that were also superhuman like him. A casually trained superhuman with a blade should beat a regular human that has mastered the art. It’s simply unfair the speed at which they react. And Geralt is a master swordsman as well as superhuman.

@Aristeaus: it’s still a really good human swordsman vs a really good superhuman swordsman.

There are no feats in Netflix to suggest he is superhuman in stats. Deflecting a crossbow is something regular humans can do, and have been shown to do. That crossbow is short draw, heavy bolt... its pretty slow.

By contrast, Jon was able to react to arrows flying much faster then that crossbow with a shield vs Ramsey... multiple times, and Jon is nothing to Jaime.

@Aristeaus: unless you’re purposely skipping season 2, the witchers are clearly superhuman. Geralt chopping clean through human bone with a simple sword swing is already enough, but blatantly stating that witchers are faster, stronger and tougher than humans is enough.

I'm not. Chopping clean through human bone isn't hard. Literally anyone can do it. Otherwise swords wouldn't be a very potent weapon... lol

That statement doesn't mean as much as you think. That statement would apply to Jaime in his world as well. We have seen him fight humans quite often. He isn't that much faster then anyone, and not that much stronger. Tougher sure, but Jaime is more skilled them him, and again, is wearing much, much better armor.

Please find me an example of regular humans doing this. This is a slaughter and I think you're vastly overestimating normal humans here.

Geralt . . Skill gap is not wide enough to compensate for geralt's physicals and endurance. It's like fighting a much faster The Mountain.

Geralt takes this comfortably.

Geralt, honestly could be a mismatch.
