Depends heavily on version of Kenpachi, his state of mind, training etc. His power with/without eyepatch varies drastically too.

1. Pre Unohana training Kenpachi, not serious and with eyepatch on:

-R1 Yamamoto

-R2 Yamamoto

2. Pre Unohana training Kenpachi, serious (kendo) and with no eyepatch:

- R1 Kenpachi (barely)

- R2 Yamamoto (barely)

3. Post Unohana training Kenpachi, with eyepatch:

- R1 Kenpachi

- R2 Kenpachi (barely)

4. Post Unohana training Kenpachi, no eyepatch:

- R1 Kenpachi

- R2 Kenpachi

Zaraki wins both rounds. With the patch on he overpowered Gerard's stomp and flipped him over, tanking a solid punch from him as well. Before that he amputated his arm with a shockwave. After he removed the patch and while severely injured, he could plunged his fingers into Vollstandig Gerard's flesh which was coated by Hitsugaya's super-hard ice and make him fall over. Zaraki has better physical and cutting feats.

@phantomrant:

What if I make it Pre-Unohana training Kenpachi?

any version of Zaraki before he unlocked his full potential has no business being in a fight with any version of Yamamoto.

Didn't read, Kenpachi both rounds in a straight physical brawl.

Although, Yama probably wins round 1.

So, no shikai or bankai, yamamoto should take both rounds.

Zaraki takes both rounds he was practically built for no shikai or bankai.

H2H..Hmm Yamamoto..If this was Bankia form I would say he would be too strong for Yama...But the way Yama broke up Wonderweiss barrhanded was more imprrssive than any H2H feat I see baseline Kenpachi do..who is my favorite character..

Kenjutsu match using sealed swords...Woah thats a fricking match I would love to see...So Kenpachi wins this one for me. We know Yama didnt want to teach Kenpachi probably how to weild a sword, & then Unohana closest in combat ability to Yama, reveals Kenpachi as a kid was a beast and he shackles his power...Once she helps him remove these shackles, He offs her instantly...Kenpachi EOS baseline is savage; & he still toys around.

So Yama R1...Kenpachi R2

Kenpachi & Yamamoto are argueably interchangeable as the #1 shinigami..Ichigo is a hybrid n he sucks lol

Yamamoto is more skilled at both h2h and sword fighting but Kenpachi stomps cause of his superior reiatsu.

I don’t think Las Noches is sufficient for this...

Ot: yama is more skilled but kenpachi’s reiatsu is too OP and he’s the “better” fighter. I’m not sure how yama’s bankai would affect him. As long as kenpachi keeps some distance, he could just swing his sword and destroy yama with the pressure.

Yams wins both rounds. Kenny just hacks and slashes. Even stated only took one class from Yams

We have seen what Yams does with H2H vs Arrancar

@limitlesssigil: hmmm, that’s a tough one. Yama’s more skilled but kenpachi’s more powerful.

I’ll still stick with kenpachi.

@limitlesssigil: thanks for adjusting. Like I said above, EOS Kenpachi should win both rounds. Yamamoto relies heavily on his shikai/bankai power. If we just take their stats and skill into consideration, Kenpachi easily matches and even outclasses him. Kenpachis stats would be a challenge for Yama even pre-Unohana, and after Unohana training his skill and mind-set caught up making him by far physically strongest shinigami alive. After Unohana completed training him Kenpachis skill also went up from very good to number 1. I mean he ONE SHOT Unohana at the end of their training. I dont think even Yamamoto would be able to achieve that skill wise.

It’s heavily implied that a trained Kenny is more powerful than Old Man Yama so EOS Kenpachi is most likely superior.

Yama literally stopped training Zaraki out of fear of him gaining power too quickly.

The writing is on the wall, Zaraki is VASTLY more powerful than Yamamoto is.

@Sakaar: IIRC It wasn't Yama that stopped that, it was central 46 out of fear of the destruction he would cause if he went rogue.

@Sakaar: @originalcaptain: are under the assumption that Unohana actually trained Kenny as a sword fighter or did she teach him no to hold back which was restricting his power? She was tearing him apart. Yhwach even said if it wasn't for Yams' age he would have been a Special War Power

We know what Yams can do. What H2H feats does Kenny have?

@boschepg: much better then Yama does, actually. See his full fight vs Gerard again. He was doing a casual judo throw on a skyscrapper tall giant. Kenpachis sheer muscle power is insane even compared to Yamamotos.

Kenny stomps both rounds.
