Mantis is not a telepath, she's an empath. Knowing that, Thanos like most MCU characters have no telepathy resistance or immunity.

Thanos is "strong" but Xavier has stronger mind and has great telepathy against others with strong minds.

Xavier controls him and makes him take the gauntlet off himself. Not much of a contest here.

Thanos can resist empathy not telepathy.

Even if Xavier can't fully control him, he can definitely hold him in place like he did with Sebastian Shaw. The rest of the Avengers get it off, and then happy ending!

True, but Ego had very weak will if he needed Mantis to make him calm down, because he was weaking up with feeling with remorse of his children. + Empathy is not the same as Telepathy.

P.S. Charles putted Psychic Bariers against Phoenix Force in movies. And it is more impressive for me than mental immobilisation of celestial or mind gem possessor

There's no "phoenix force" in fox movies as of now

Young xavier has no feats on that level. He does worse.

He doesnt do well at all. Charles has always had trouble controlling beings at high end levels. Empathy isnt telepathy, but it is basically another form of it. They are very similar. Mantis made a moon sized Celestial fall asleep. He does worse than Mantis. If this was older Xavier, he does much better. He might even be able to hold off Thanos.

Professor simply prevented the power from growing and taking control which is much easier.

Plus Phoenix force isnt a psionic entity in Fox universe, just a part of jean grey's real power.

Next x-men: dark phoenix literally shows that Jean's power is a real PF a cosmic threat/cosmic entity.

All the impressive stuff there is old charles, or charles with an amp.

Plus, I don't think keeping phoenix dormant is the same as making a raging phoenix go dormant.

Young, unamped charles is still the least impressive out of this lineup. Thanoos wins.
