@deathhero61: super speed, air dashes, agility that would make impress spiderman, super strength that would shit on a peak human, and his weapons are a thousand times better. Too many advantages. What does fornite player have? Someone abnormally fast building skills that won't really help him?
Super speed to what degree?
Spider-Man is a humble every man from what I know. Honestly, I think his standards are not that high and a lot of things can impress him.
By gameplay mechanics, apparently Fortnite characters are considered above peak human if they can take shots that completely shatters walls, small houses and whatnot.
I removed many weapons from Sunset Overdrive person's arsenal just to make a fairer match, since many think it is not comparable to some gear like Boogie Bombs, Port-a-Fort, Guided Missiles, Traps, etc.
Like I said, if Fortnite character make structures Sunset Overdrive character cannot scale due to composition and being littered with some traps, I think it can help in some way.
@jmarshmallow: Just watch the end boss of SO.
That is way beyond anything FN protag has come across, or could even hope of defeating.
I watched it like you said, but I think Sunset Overdrive character only defeated it because of tentacles, rails and drones to grind and bounce on respectively to get close to the power core.
I think Fortnite player can simply fly to it with Jetpack or maybe ride a missile towards it. Heck, could just snipe the core from a safer distance and/or area.
@hypoallergenic: Round 1: It'll take about half a second for the SO character to reach the Fortnite character. At that point, they're more than strong enough to beat them down with a crowbar without the FN character being able to do anything. They could also use their weapons if they needed to. I highly doubt the FN character could hurt them in that little time, SO can take way more damage than any FN hero or even structure.
"150" yards in half a second? Are you sure Sunset Overdrive Protagonist can go that fast?
Or are you assuming they start very close because I mentioned they start at Junk Junction, but the place is small compared to the whole map?
If so, my mistake. I edit soon.
Still, it is not like Fortnite person is 100% just going to stand still out in the open and wait for Sunset Overdrive protagonist to come. I think Fortnite player could run back and create distance with Jump Pad or Teleporter Pad to prepare, snipe or something.
But Fortnite person can have extended layer of defense in form of shield. Feels more or less similar to RWBY aura.
Could say due to that they can take bullets that pierce not-so thick or durable skin.
When the shield is down, I think they can still take a few shots or something and that in itself could be considered natural durability feat or whatever.
hypoallergenic: Round 2: Lets give the FN hero the benefit of the doubt and say in this city setting they're able to find TONS of resources quickly make a double reinforced metal house with lots of traps the likes of which you'd make in a campaign mission during the time it takes SO to cover the ground. I highly doubt most of the traps will be able to hurt SO enough to really leave an impact considering the enemies and attacks they deal with constantly. And then given how much stronger they are physically the SO character can probably just smash the building to pieces easily. The biggest problem for FN in this scenario though is that in this city, the SO hero can basically constantly heal since there is soda EVERYWHERE.
Again, it is not like Fortnite character will stay in the open exclusively at his/her end of the map. Fortnite character could be constantly on the move or hiding inside one of many buildings in Sunset City.
Even traps that do piercing damage? Traps that gas enemies?
To my knowledge, Sunset Overdrive character did not fight anyone or anything that deals that kind of damage.
If you say most of the traps are not going to hurt a lot, then I think the best way to compromise is use the lesser traps to weaken Sunset Overdrive character or to lead Sunset Overdrive protagonist to traps that will do the most harm.
Simple example: A trap with not that much impact placed on the floor. Sunset Overdrive character go to the left to dodge it, but fell for the left trap (which is more effective).
What do you mean about the soda? Correct me if I am wrong but aren't the soda suppose to be just currency and only obtainable by killing enemies and breaking boxes or something?
Which reminds me, Fortnite person could take advantage of Sunset Overdrive protagonist's pickups and place traps close to it or aim weapon towards a pickup and shoot when Sunset Overdrive player close or something.
hypoallergenic: If everything lines up for the FN hero in the best way possible, given that the SO hero ignores all the heals, stays on the ground, stupidly walks right through every single trap, and then lets the FN hero have some free shots... they MIGHT die. In any situation other than the above, I'd give it to the SO hero 99+/100 times
Well, I think Fortnite character could force Sunset Overdrive character to move towards traps with the amount of ammo Fortnite player can unload to Sunset Overdrive protagonist.
Not only that, but destroy w/ weapons, disable, or place remote explosives or; like I said,"lesser" traps on whatever/wherever Sunset Overdrive person will traverse on to lead Sunset Overdrive character to deadlier traps.
Sunset Overdrive Protagonist is not the only one who can destroy builds like you say.
There are some gadgets, items and traps that I think can cause players and enemies to be slowed down or open for attack in Fortnite. Wall Light, Boogie Bomb, Slow Field, Ninja Class Smoke Bomb, etc.
There is also stealth option for Fortnite Character with bush item.
hypoallergenic: The characters here are in different tiers, and are hardly comparable in power. In all honesty the only way I can see making this fight level in any sense is giving the FN hero an hour of prep in the city and making the SO hero the tutorial version with zero upgrades and only a crowbar. These two aren't really suited for a matchup, even if you made it a team of FN heroes vs a single maxed SO character, the differences in basic stats is too much.
Okay. Thank you. I will take your consideration for a balanced match depending on how all of this goes first.
