Five Man Arena Tournament.
A throwback to a very fun Tourney @floopay: made years ago. Very fun, and very challenging. So hope you all have fun with this one. Limits are vague, and thats fine. This tourney is old school where we will not measure every little feat and calculate its exact numbers. Instead we will ball park it, and the people playing and myself will agree if a character breaks limits or seems fair. I get final say if there is no consensus. So have fun and enjoy a twist on a classic Tourney.
The Rules:
- I may limit characters, if I do, you will be allowed to either keep them, or swap them out.
- Characters are first come first serve. No duplicates, if you pick a character someone else has already chosen, I'll tell you to swap them out.
- If your team advances to the next round, you have the option to change one characters of yours with a character from the team you fought. How this will work is whoever you face and beaten, from their Roster you must choose one or two of their characters to replace one of your own. Forcing you out of your comfort zone and debate another character can be fun. There is always plenty of respect threads. This will challenge you as a debater. However it is a option.
Character Guidelines:
- Max Strength: Resident Evil Tyrant, Green Goblin, Xenomorph Queen. Roughly 10 tons. This applies to TK as well. This is only Lifting Feats though. Not applicable to striking harder than that.
- Max Durability: Durability level equivalent to M1A1 Abrams Tank. This applies to armor ad shields.
- Healing: DC Creeper orDeadpool level.
- Max Speed: Bullet timing is fine, but flat out outrunning or moving faster than speed of sound. Examples are Wolverine or Albert Wesker level. They can dodge a bullet but no way out run it. Its due to time and distance than can out speed a bullet. They are slower than Mach 1. This does not apply to reaction speed. As in the speed to see, think, and make decisions in.
- Max Intelligence: None
- Telepathy: 90s Psylock, Dynamite's The Shadow. Will Power can overcome it, and limited to effectiveness.
- Max Reflexes: None
- Energy Blasts: I dont mind Cyclopes level, but there will be no GET OFF MY LAWN silliness.
- Max Flight Speed: Only as fast as a real life fighter jet.
- No Reality/Time Manipulation.
- Intangibility/Teleport/Hax attacks will be case by case.
- Characters with limited or questionable feats disallowed: There is many characters with obscure lore, feats, or powers. General Rule here folks, can your character give Spider Man hell or beat Spider Man casually? They are probably way to damn high mates. Further more no characters will be "Nerf" or "Limit this Power." They either fit rules or do not. If your character does not fit rules, you lose that character automatically. So dont be one of those people who try to toe the lines of the limits.
Rules:
- No battlefield removal for your team or enemies.
- Team one starts on the left side, team two on the right.
- Use scans and feats to prove your arguments, respect each other and play nice. I will warn you once if you get out of line, after that you're out
- Characters have standard equipment, unless stated otherwise. Certain characters can have different standard gear (Punisher in an Arena battle, he might bring land mines or something, it's not out of his character)
- Characters are morals on, in character.
- Your team starts anywhere from on the top of the platform on your team's side, to up to the 3 sets of walls (in the watch tower, behind the wall, etc.).
- Winner will be declared by voters and judges.
- Win via KO, Death, Total Incapacitation, or Time Out (read below)
- 15 minutes of prep to share knowledge, choose starting positions on your side of the map, and discuss strategy. Cannot grab extra equipment with this time. you can only affect half the battlefield on your side.
- Random Encounter: Completely oblivious as to who they are up against.
- 4 Hour Time Out: Each battle is given a time limit. This time is short enough that it should be fair for most players, but long enough to prove rigorous to certain people on time limits. This is mostly used to prevent stalemates. For example, if everyone agrees Team 1 can beat 4/5 members of Team 2, but the last member of Team 2 cannot be KO'd by that team, but cannot KO anyone from Team 1 himself, then Team 1 will be declared the winner (because they have more people).
- 4 weeks to debate each match: Each match will have 4 weeks to get 3 posts each in. Thats roughly a post every 3 days. Every 57 days at longest. If you cannot get a post in every week, then dont bother joining. Its not hard.
- Tournament Size: 8-16 people. Everyone participating will be veteran debaters who are known to finish debates and not drop out of tourneys all the time. You may be turn away if your participant record looks shoddy.
- Tourney Hosts: Tournament Hosts whole will help me look characters over in PMs, and make rullings will be @jacthripper: @floopay: and @kingcrimson:
