I have no idea how powerful the Annihilation wave is but this basically comes down to how much time Starfleet has to come up with an answer. Their scientists are second to none and they have a huge number of them with essentially unlimited budgets. Since they have come up with weapons to combat the Borg and species 8472, it's only a matter of time until they come up with an answer to the Annihilation ships. Anybody care to give power levels for the Annihilation Ships?
Annihilation Wave curbstomp. Its an army from an entire universe. Galactus was involved fighting, plus so many people that can be considered Weapons of Mass Destruction (or Peoples of Mass Destruction if you so prefer) took part fighting them.
High powered Superhumans >>> Technology based weapons.
You see only crap like culture fleets can defeat the annhialation wave in a head on battle, or anyone with a can of raid. That's the annhialation wave's weakness, anyone with a reliable supply of bug spray wipes out the army in no time flat.
The culture can defeat most armies by just breaking really really hard in hyperspace. From what i understand the resulting bow shock wipes out fleets in an instant or something like that. Also the Xeelee can defeat the wave since their pistols blow up stars with glancing shots. Just imagine their artillery cannons, it'd wipe out galaxies in one blast!
To put this into perspective, the federation occupies a part of the alpha quadrant, which is one quarter of the milky way galaxy. The annihilation wave has ravaged several galaxies in its wake. The federation has no chance.

He was referring to the fact that Galactus destroyed the Annihilation wave with a blast that encompassed three Star systems. Pickard and Kirk Never met Galactus. Galactus could end the federation with his little finger.

well they got it handed to them by one Borg cube didnt they? it took a cosimc blast from Galactus, a being who stands next to guys like Eternity to take it out.

That may be true but Q would still be able to destroy the Annihilation Wave with his reality changing powers. But Starfleet would get destroyed along with the Kilngons and the Romulons and basically everyone else.
The Borg may be able to put up a fight since they could adapt to the Wave's weaponry
In the last episode of Voyager, the crew brought back from time weapons and armor that, when fitted, allowed their puny science vessel to easily wipe out a Borg cube. Current Federation is a force to be reckoned with.

@diydeath: i know their feats by featless i meant that they dont have that much feats except for time travel and they seem to have ships that can bend the laws of physics like in this enterprise episode where they found a 31st century that was bigger inside than it was outside they probably have krenim space-time erasing tech
however only reason that annihilation wave beats them is because they have the proemial gods other than that they would likely get stomped
+ its debatable whether time travel works in the negative zone because 1 minut on earth is 5 hours in the negative zone even if time travel doesnt work they probably have some type of star system one-shooting canons
