Laxus was superior the entire battle, Erza had Grays devil slayer magic and Natsus dragon slaying magic enchanted into a sword that could cut dragons, Laxus looked like he could still go on before Erza gave up, and he suddenly gave up. He woke up before her and carried her for several chapters even though she faint d before him. Laxus is clearly superior

@grandtoaa: Tbh, its possible erza didn't go all out because laxus is a friend. Laxus on the other hand went all out because he was mind controlled and saw her as a foe.

Not trying to say erza is stronger or justify her defeat or anything, just throwing that out there to be taken into consideration.

R1: Could go either way, natsu power is slightly lower than Erza but he has Dragon Force, his power when fighting against Dragon cannot be used as a standard because his power was made to deal with them.
