Is Midoriya fast enough to speed blitz with full cowling?

Shouldn't the Elric brothers have a huge speed advantage? I don't remember Izuku ever being anywhere near fast enough to casually block bullets like the Elrics did, and they did that with alchemy at the beginning of the series and they (or Ed at least) have gotten much fasten since then, so I think they can just blitz him unless I'm missing something.

And I also don't remember Izuku ever going with the above attacks so quickly in-character, though that could just be my memory being faulty.

In character brothers win, more skill, similar speed and great teamwork and tactics while Izuku holding back won't tag them in a meaningful way.

@tsoj: Ed has never explicitly bullet timed unless I'm mistaken, even after his automail was upgraded at Fort Briggs.

He could possibly be considered a bullet timer by scaling to Scar, though.

Are you thinking of the fight against Father Cornello?

Most fights with Izuku generally depend on his willingness to break all the bones in his body.

@kingcrimson: Yeah, the Cornello fight. Seemed pretty clear cut to me. Cornello started shooting, and as the bullets were traveling towards Ed, he clapped his hands, crouched down, made a big wall, and blocked the bullets. Can't have done that if he couldn't outspeed the bullets since they were already fired.

@tsoj: Cornello sort of shot along the floor towards the brothers though - he didn't shoot directly at them. I've always viewed it as aim dodging.

@kingcrimson: @valor_175: Yep, he shot right at them and only after this did Ed make a wall, as seen here in the manga:

The Elrics should win at this point. Izuku doesn't have enough of a speed advantage to blitz, or enough of a strength advantage to ragdoll them. He'd need to go 100% to reliably take them out, and I feel like the remaining brother will be able to beat Izuku when he's down to one arm.

Izuku will probably pass them in another arc or two.

Deku would need to break his limps to win.

They can't beat him up close, but they can probably swarm him with constructs and beat him at a distance. Deku might win if they go hand to hand at the start but even then Ed should be a lot faster.

Deku wins. Too fast, too strong, and he can tank their alchemy. In the movie he fought very well against a villain whose attacks were very similar to Ed's.

This is actually CAV material. I would love to do this. I could argue for either side winning.
