- Edward Elric, from FMA: Brotherhood, w/ metal limbs

- Both are in character
- Win by any means
Edward Elric vs Captain America
Cap has better strength and speed feats and is a better fighter overall. Is this Ed before or after he loses his ability to perform alchemy?
Steve takes this IMO.
Also really surprised no one's said "Lol Ed stomps" considering how Comic Vine seems to hold him and FMA in general in high regard.

yae im suprised. i made a ed vs master chief thread and that was fairly split up but here so far everyone is rootin for cap.
@silverrings: It really comes down to distance.
@those_eyes: Who do you think wins this, then?
@mastermustard: Does that mean you think Cap wins? And this is Ed with his alchemy.
@blackwind: I know, i wanted to specify. Do you have an opinion on the outcome?
@pacpanda: Cool, and how exactly do you see Ed winning this?
@stingerrain: @eisenfauste: @haoalchemist: Cool, care to state why?
@lukehero: Ok, i stated in the set up how far apart they start, how do you think it affects the outcome?
@silverrings: Edward gets close and decomposes his head. Or makes a large cannon. Or winning just through H2H.
With just his fighting skills Ed can fight his brother Alphonse who can casually punch through brick walls, he doesn't win but he's experienced fighting agile and powerful opponents. If Ed takes this serious he can easily win.
Ed may have fought more powerful people than Cap but Cap has fought more powerful people than anyone in FMA. I wouldwouldn't say Ed is too much weaker, he kicked a gigiant chimera casually across the room and can dodge bullets. Cap is a much better with tactics but Ed is also a quick thinker. Cap is a better fighter though. I wonder is alchemy would work on his shield...probably not. All and all I give it to Cap. He has more strength feats, more skill feats, better durability and his shield.
@iwingedavenger: Why?
@pacpanda: Cool, do you really think Ed would go straight for decomposing Cap's head? The cannon i can definitely see him doing, although i'm sure there are some people who would debate Ed and Cap's hand-to-hand fighting skills till the cows come home.
@lukehero: Ok, i stated in the set up how far apart they start, how do you think it affects the outcome?
- They start twenty feet apart
I missed this. LOL. Alright, I reread everything. Cap should bum rush him & whack him with his shield before he can counter with alchemy. Cap 6/10
@silverrings: He might. Edward is unpredictable. As for h2h, Edward vs Greed shows his H2H off.
@darthaznable: Some good points there, but you gotta read the set up, i stated that Ed can't use alchemy on Cap's shield.
@lukehero: It's cool man, thanks for the comment. What do you have to say to the guys voting for Ed?
@pacpanda: @themagicstik: Good points from you both, what do you have to say to the guys voting for Cap?
@silverrings: What I have to say is the following:
THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO AN ARGUMENT. MY SIDE, AND THE WRONG SIDE!
@pacpanda: Best. Argument. Ever.
@silverrings: As far people bringing up fighting his brother Alphonse, Alphonse isn't even half the H2H fighter Cap is. Close range favors Cap he would embarrass both brothers at the same time in H2H. If the distance were 50 yards or more it would favor Ed. But, 20 feet is nothing. It's basically two basketball goals laying down apart.
@itzxsloth345: He couldn't do that 1. Because he doesn't know what it's made of and 2: It's not allowed in this fight.
I think Edward would take it with moderate trouble. He could tank the shield a couple times ( He has mad durability for a human, just look at when he fights Greed, who could crush stone with ease. And it's not like Cap would hit him with all his strength ) and could definatly get some shots off on Cap. He may not be as good in CQC, but he's good enough to hold his own. With his alchemy takes it, he could just drop Cap in a pit and close it back up or something.
@silverrings: This is IC so no, Ed would never do anything like that to a human.
@darthaznable: Some good points there, but you gotta read the set up, i stated that Ed can't use alchemy on Cap's shield.
@lukehero: It's cool man, thanks for the comment. What do you have to say to the guys voting for Ed?

I was just wondering if Alchemy would work anyways.
Captain America.
@frisky4: @thatguywithheadphones: Why?
@darthaznable: Ah, well then the answer is no, because Ed needs to know what the substance is before he can use his powers on it.
@blackwind: Yeah, neither of them will be going all out straight away, that's why i wanted them to be in character, i think it's more fair.
@joewell: @lukehero: Good points from both of you guys, you've made good arguments for both sides.
Steve takes this IMO.

Cap takes this. Your distance is the major key. Cap can travel at one mile per 73 seconds, which means 20 ft is just a blink of an eye.
Cap is a better H2H combatant, but vulnerable to the lack of knowledge of alchemy. If this was any other alchemist, things would have gone different. But edward's alchemy is mid range and that is ineffective to Cap.
I argue that Cap knockd out elric close H2H within 15 seconds plus major damage to brain. The guy H2H the best of marvel,
Are you kidding me?
Steve slaughters Ed.
if edward goes in close he will get slaughtered
but if he keeps his distance maybe he can win
Cap. I don't think Ed has transmuted something as tough as vibranium
OP says he can't transmute or alter the shield anyways.
As for the thread, I'd wager Ed could win. But Cap definitely could too.
@anthp2000: No he isn't. But Ed does win in a close one.
@major_hellstorm: What can Cap do when Ed encases him in a building sized rock structure?
@anthp2000: I said Ed wins. I don't remember Ed using building sized alchemy against opponents in FMA;B.
@major_hellstorm: I cannot post gifs right now but he did so at least once. I'm saying it's not close.
