OG Manhattan has no feats of dealing with super powered foes, let alone anyone close to Thanos. That being said, OG Manhattan has never died either, and survived having his molecules ripped apart, so anything other than Full IG isn't going to cut it, and even then, we don't know for sure.

OT: I'd go with Manhattan, if Wanda's performance is anything to go by, for R1 & 2 and a tossup for R3 since we don't know if the IG can permanently put Manhattan down

First round is a stomp for Manhattan. Second is a comfortable win. And third is impossible to determine.

1 Manhattan stomps

2 Thanos uses the Time Stone to reverse time for Manhattan to before he had powers...like Strange manipulated the apple except in reverse. Unless Manhattan disintegrates him first.

3 Thanos wins. Reality manipulation is more powerful than molecular manipulation.

That wouldn’t work for multiple reasons,

1. When thanos rewinds time of an individual they move to the location where they were during that time. Manhattan was a human in hes universe, meaning all you would do is take him out of the IG’s jurisdiction.

2. Manhattan‘s body is an avatar the actual location of where he’s soul is, is unknown, we know this because Dr. M can make clones of himself that have the same will, for instance when he was banging he’s girl friend and she Found out he had clones, she was like can you take this seriously, and he’s like I’m felling it in all my bodies.

3. Manhattan sees all of time, he can’t lose, he can send infinite clones of himself with anyone of them being able to vaporise Thanos’s body from any location in the universe. Saying Manhattan can’t vaporise Thanos is stupid since he teleports by moving the universe cause hes to lazy to move himself.

Manhattan has no way to hurt Thanos. So Thanos should win.

To put this in to perspective, Manhattan teleports by moving the universe in the movie, which means he has an affect on 4 dimensional constructs to what extent in the movie is unknown lucky Dr. M in the comics he can eliminate universes.

I don't feel like responding to everything you said, but the highlighted part of your statement is obnoxious and something you made up. I never said Manhattan can't vaporize Thanos.

Time Stone mixed with Manhattan's powers? I think the universe implodes.

@tsunamiwave: I wasn’t just countering you but the common belief of other people who like to say he destroyed a tank and vaporised humans. But everyone forgets in the movie he said he moves the universe to teleport, he’s universal it’s just he doesn’t need to operate on that level unless teleporting.

Ok cool. I do think that Manhattan can disintegrate Thanos.

@amendment50: It's weird because he's kind of almost always time traveling in a sense? Like if anything, wouldn't time traveling hinder his powers because he'd be removing himself from that specific timeline?? I DON'T KNOW

It would confuse the heck out of him like it did on HBO Watchmen since he experiences all of his life-time simultaneosly , but he would then get used to the deal in some minutes.

Manhattan can see all of time but he can’t change the outcome of things so if he sees himself losing to Thanos he cant change it to where he wins.

@frocharocha: Right that's a good point actually. In a sense he kind of DID time travel in the show, since Ozymandias's device prevented him from experiencing non-linear time for a whole decade before he snapped back to his old self again.

@gentlemantophat: Yes he can what do you think Rebirth is. It shows Manhattan using TK across time and space to stop certain events as an experiment to see the outcome of he’s change.

In manhattans mind he travelled through time and saw all superman’s that existed in main continuity. In other words he saw pre-crisis, post-crisis before he went to rebirth via the event of convergence, new 52 (before he’s death) and rebirth who is post-crisis.

Then he wanted to know how the world would respond if superman was the first Superhero.

He did this by removing the JSA so that government wouldn’t already have superheroes which would mean they would alienate superman as if the JSA has existed the government would already have trust in heroes.

This change lead to the government creating “The superman theory” which was the belief superman was responsible for the rapid occurrence of all metahumans which was partially tru since Russian were making Metahumans as they saw the American Superhero superman as a threat.

Manhattan can change an outcome

Your just luck movie Manhattan never said he exists in all universes simultaneously. Comic Manhattan is Broken.

Thanos round three. Movie DM is more limited than in the comics. His speed for destroying things with a gesture are only as fast as the snap. However he never destroyed anything as durable as Thanos and his powers work in a very physical sense. The snap doesn't just erase your physical body but your existence. Your soul goes too. Movie DM has only shown immunity to physical damage. While that makes him a god in the Watchmen universe where there are no real powers anywhere else, this doesn't mean he can take on all six stones with universal range.

@rebake: That’s a lie and your wrong

1. It doesn’t destroy your soul or existence that’s why people could be brought back from the snap, Black widow had her soul actually destroyed in order to gain the soul stone. Therefore Dr. Manhattan can’t be snapped away permanently, not even in marvel comics does the snap destroy the soul you made that up or misinterpreted it, but thanos can’t kill Manhattan.

2. Dr. Manhattan explicitly stated that he doesn’t disassemble and re-assemble he’s body to teleport. He moves the universe to the position where he wants to be, this isn’t partial Space-time folding (Wormholes) he said he moves the universe whilst he remains stationary he‘s powers are universal he can vaporise thanos, with the same energy required to move a universe, it’s just he’s never had incentive to do so to completely normal humans against thanos he’d have no such feelings to hold him back.

3. Dr. Manhattan by default wins, when he enters any universe he see all of time, to him if he wants thanos dead it’s as simple as blowing up he’s planet as a child, vaporising him from several star systems before thanos can think of him, hiding In another universe and sending infinite clones to the universe thanos is in, heck stop the electrical impulses in he’s brain etc, Manhattan has an eternity to think of ways to kill thanos.

Thanos can’t kill manhattan, Manhattan can kill thanos

Manhattan wins

Manhattan stomps R1 (at least with implied feats)

R2 & R3 depends on who shots first but Thanos has more raw power I think

@nn5: The snap would only seperate Dr. M’s atoms, and the first thing Dr. M learnt was to put himself back together again. Dr. M oneshots.
