Isn't thors' power divided with jane fosters thor and he still can take strange.And doesn't he fight people that are stronger than him mangot was a billion billion times stronger on avengers assemble they made a joke of him guess he was weaken long ages of improsionment?

Doctor Strange may not win this battle but he's definitely on the same playing field as the Mighty Thor. I don't think people realize just how much credit the Sorcerer Supreme actually deserves, he's one of the most powerful Earth-bound super heroes in the Marvel U.

Dr Strange arlready beat Thor quite easily. I don't see why arguing over something that has been solidly sealed in comics would be any practical.

Strange has NO chance and NOTHING in his arsenal that could kill Thor. Thor via slaughter.

I dont care what version of Strange your coming with, this does not end well for the Dr. Hes going to have a lot more than smashed hands after this encounter.

Okay, any proof? And the last time Thor fought Ghost Rider, I was current Thor who is much weaker than normal Thor even then he did much better than Strange ever did.

God of Magic is an amped Strange, if you want to use that then you can also use Odin Force Thor and evennthen Thor wins since Magic God Strange was afraid of the Void who base Thor can handle. And no, I’m referring to Loki matching Strange blow for blow with magic, not Loki tricking Strange and I’m referring to the classic Strange Sorcerer Supreme.

Given what strange is doing with Galactus and Dormammu in recent entries, it's tough to make a case for Current Thor right now.

Current Strange has been amped to the point where this is almost a mismatch from what I have seen.

@andreasver: You're misinterpreting their fight with Thor and Strange, and/or taking it out of context, to be honest.

There isnt single valid argument you can make for Thor beating Strange.

1 The only time the Hulk beat Strange was during WWH when Strange had Zom's essence and stopped pummeling Hulk after noticing he put innocent people at risk, and attempted to repress Zom. This only came to be because earlier Hulk had to trick Strange in order to break his hands (something fairly dumb for a couple reasons), because as Strange put it, he could snuff out his life with twitch of the finger. The writer of this story Greg Pak said that if Thor were there he'd lose to Hulk. Besides, Thor usually struggles with weaker Hulks... the kind Dr Strange has one-shot. If anything this is the only fight you mentioned that is telling, and it's that Strange has always been able to deal with Hulk far better than Thor.

2 GR also only beat him once. Even ignoring that it was in the mid 2000s, years after Strange had a series and since he had been mishandled by other writers, the fight had context. Strange was holding back the entire time he fought until at the end he thought he gave too much and killed GR. Strange dropped all guard after being stricken with grief believing he killed him when Zarathos came out, catching Strange off guard and bound him up before he could do anything.

3 When Strange had no magic, and he didn't lose. Loki reset the flow of magic and it came back but it was still weak and temporary (as Strange said the damage done by the Empirikul was too severe).

4 When Strange was a new character, yet to be fully established in regards to his powerset and lore, and still an apprentice. Still, while Loki was overpowering him (as Strange even said he hadn't fought anyone like that) the fight never concluded with Strange losing. And oddly enough the whole premise of the story is Loki needed Strange for something he couldn't do on his own. Which resulted in Strange taking Mjolnir away from Thor through a spell.

@andreasver: I mean, the post above summed it up perfectly. Strange has consistently been shown as tiers above Thor, even when fighting other opponents. Really, not much one can argue here, without twisting everything up.
