Dr Strange vs Loki

This has been done before, and I don't know why this needed to be bumped but Dr Strange is definitely superior.

That fight posted earlier was from one of Strange's first appearances, he never really had much in the way of straight mystic duels at that point in time (and there was more to it than just that in the fight anyway). He was still inexperienced in battle, and especially against someone like Loki. Who bombarded him with a relentless assault that he wasn't used to and put Strange on the defensive. Not long after this, when he was beginning to come into his own as a character at Marvel he quickly rose to a level far beyond this. As mentioned previously in this thread, that was before he became master of the mystic arts.

Even still, in that same fight Dr Strange was still outwitting him, and Dr Strange would go on to outwit people far smarter than Loki. When it comes to magic and things that involve it he's far smarter, in fact, this whole thing began because he needed Dr Strange to do something he himself couldn't. Physicals mean next to nothing in a fight like this. Besides, Dr Strange is known to amp those qualities with spells, the spell of invulnerability for one would diminish any advantage of strength even though as I mentioned it wouldn't exactly come into play. The main one is speed, which he has done many times that put him on levels far beyond anything Loki has ever done. As a fighter, he undoubtedly became better at that mystically. In terms of conventional, like hand to hand stuff, he's a trained martial artist that was able to go toe to toe against Dormammu in melee combat. Whose physicals are well beyond human and has training in his universes martial arts having uncountable years to have studied.

That sits comfortably in an era where he was written as a shell of his former self so it's harder to tell. But then again the man who was notorious for being unkind to the doctor (Bendis) gave him some respect at the end of his run with him, and nothing really changed (officially) power wise with the character between the two events (Dark Reign to becoming SS again).

In terms of knowledge, Loki has been around for thousands of years and because of that he could learn everything about the nine realms and possibly any realm beyond that. But Doctor Strange too has learnt everything there is to learn about magic and his knowledge is such that he can tell reality what to do with his powers. The selling point here is that Loki never really continued training his mind but still remains powerful. Doctor Strange on the other hand kept on reading whatever discovered or undiscovered texts he could find.

Of course Loki did. He was still depicted as continuing his studies as Kid Loki and Young Loki was revealed to have become familiar with midguardian technology to the point of hacking the internet.

Stories Loki was aware of everything that was occurring in a Pocket dimension made by Doom despite being outside the multiverse.

Even so, Doctor Strange still stomps. Even at his strongest Loki has never fought Universal beings.

Dr. Strange takes this. Dr. Strange is able to absorb power and use that power against them. Dr. Strange has beaten many powerful sorcerers such as Dormammu, Baron Mordo, Mephisto, Nightmare, and plenty more. Dr. Strange may not be as strong as Loki but he has been trained in various martial arts. Meanwhile, Loki struggles to fight his brother Thor in a straight up fight. Loki may have the ability to control minds but that is useless against the Sorcerer Supreme.

classic Dr Strange was a magical powerhouse. He would drop Loki unless there was some prep involved for Loki.

Wouldn't Dr Strange have an edge in flight since Loki in his own words mentioned he can't fly but can levitate, like here in this scan:

Loki isn't as op as I figured.

He was floored easily by Casey. It was quite dissappointing. His run as sorcerer supreme now ,is relatively good imo. But strange would win this.
