Dr. Manhattan vs Adam Warlock
@decaf_wizard: Doctor Manhattan blew up a tank, though. A tank!
@scotticusrex: @decaf_wizard: Not to mention he can create glasses of water! Man, imagine what power that takes..
@hocko1999_virus: ah.....not more than kitchen level molecular manipulation?

@hocko1999_virus: LOL :D
@darthaznable: Hey, he took out a tank, some Viet-Kong, and a homeless schizophrenic.
How does that not make him nigh-omnipotent?
After all, he can see a bunch of sh!t that he can't do anything about.
I think everyone needs to do research on Dr.Manhattan from the....ya know....COMICS and not base his level from a film adaptation. Don't know who wins, but I see a lot of low balling here.
Nobody is lowballing. And those are all things that were done in the comics. What did he do that was anymore impressive? Hmm?
You guys are only going by feats
What do you expect us to go by? Fan speculation?
If Dr. Manhattan was in character, he wouldnt be in the fight unless he saw it necessary. I suppose he could beat Adam Warlock with a precise blast to incinerate him. Though it seems like a tough match to decide who could win considering Jon doesnt do a whole lot of fighting.
Does either side have knowledge of the other? This could go both ways. One major factor would be what happened to Dr. Manhattan's soul...he was at one point officially declared dead. I don't know enough about him to comment on that, but with his powers, he could cause a lot of trouble for Warlock. Warlock's ability to manipulate cosmic energies will help tremendously to maintain his own molecular cohesion. This whole fight might come down to who surprises who. If they really went at each other this fight would be over in seconds.

No, I'm saying that we don't know Mr. Manhattan's true powers due to lack of feats
@drskullcrushin: Oh how the tables have turned.
@bartolomo87: oh how they did
Warlock wins. With soul gem it's almost spite
Four years ago, Manhattan didn't have his feats from Rebirth. Hence he isn't that version as per CV rules, as I recall.
This is the context to my original statement
Dr Manhattan utterly stomps
Without feats from Rebirth? I really dont think so

4 years ago he had his rebirth feats the first one being how he made rebirth.Rebirth began in 2016 so it’s just in time as such this is a spite.Unless we use Starlin verse Adam who oneshotted existence and became the LT but the story isn’t canon and everyone considers that adam a different Adam. Eitherway it’s a spite.
@decaf_wizard: What's to stop Manhattan from atomizing warlock or bfr'ing him? Manhattan cant be killed.
Manhattan cant be killed.
I'd imagine that the Soul Gem just completely tears Manhattan a new asshole. You know, the Infinity Gem that Warlock has? The one that let him beat Mephisto, a Hell Lord, within his own realm? The one that can literally consume the souls of entire worlds if Adam Warlock lets it? The one thats capable of reviving the souls of the dead and returning them to life or letting them mindrape people?
Adam Warlock does not need to "kill" someone physically to destroy them completely. Adam could summon the spectre of every single person Manhattan ever killed or snuffed out of existence, even by indirect action, and have them haunt and torment his mind. So what, a few million tormented ghosts screaming in his head?
And as per CV rules, Manhattan's feats in Rebirth were not published as per the time of this thread being created. Hence, he doesn't have them for the purposes of this battle. Hence, if Mephisto can't atomize Warlock, Manhattan can't either. And Adam can teleport, so BFR is out too

Holy
Hell
Can people actually read or is literacy dead on this godforsaken site. I hate having to repeat myself ad infinitum
Manhattan was creating universes pre rebirth. He's in another tier all together.
I dont understand how you dont get this simple fact. It doesn't matter what happened chronologically in-universe. In real life, he didn't have those feats four years ago
@decaf_wizard: Who knows if the soul gem even works on a DC character. With all his abilities Manhattan won't be defeated. He sees the future and just sends a copy of himself to fight this battle. He will not be harmed.
At worst this is a stalemate.
And if you're gonna be cursing all angry, replying to everyone with a different opinion..do not talk to me bc you're kind've annoying.

Just curious. Feats of him doing that before he gets any feats from before 2016
@decaf_wizard:He did it in Watchmen, he created duplicates of himself while in bed with Laurie while the real him was working. She got mad and threw a cup at him, but it went right through Manhattan not harming him (he went intangible). He also has chronokinesis, he exists outside of linear time. He also has precognition and clairvoyance, he knows future events and timelines of other people. He knew Laurie's dad was the comedian in Watchmen when she didn't. He also knew she was gonna go out with Nite Owl on a date.

So what exactly is stopping Warlock from either turning his mind inside out with the Soul Gem or just flat tearing his soul out
Again, Warlock can soundly defeat a Hell Lord within is own realm. Add that to the fact that he has universal senses with the Soul Gem, he can find the real one even assuming he can't screw with Manhattan's mind or soul through a duplicate. There is no indication Manhattan's copies aren't him, they clearly share a mind and thats all that matters
Also Warlock has displayed the ability to operate through literal time-stops with his soul power. Time hax isn't saving Manhattan here, never-mind the fact that CV battles start with the assumption that the character is actually present in the fight and has no foreknowledge at least until the battle begins. If he wants to bugger off after the fight starts, so be it
Unless this is LT warlock or Dr manhatten sees himself losing, Dr manhatten wins this. He can see the future, nigh omni shmomny or not that alone suffices.
Dr manhatten sees himself losing
So what avenue to victory does he see then?
