Even though he was new to the mantle he was hyped as the most powerful fate ever because his different connection or some shit?

I don't think there's really anything Kent can do to win here, especially not to this version of Norrin.

Fate is superior in terms of versatility but norrin can take minor wins.

Feats for both characters would be nice here

@juiceboks: Can Fate's feats be scaled up to Nabu's? Wouldn't that give him sort of chance against Surfer?

@ultraphoenix: Well no because the human hosts of Nabu are explicitly weaker than the Lord of Order himself. That's made even more clear by their respective showings against beings like Mordru and the Spectre

This no longer holds as per recent JLD, Nabu could override the host and channel higher amounts of power as he wished. I mean he still had a host when he one shot Phantom Stranger and Constantine, destroyed dimensions in the Sphere of gods , took on 5 lords of chaos and a bunch of the magical community etc..

Rebirth didn't have many showings but current fate has had his most powerful feats in all his versions, it was Kent being fully controlled by Nabu and was threatening to destroy the multiverse to reboot creation, he was full assaulted by Constantine and Swamp thing and he barely flinched, waved off zatanna and WW

Broke Hecate's seal on the multiverse to allow the otherkind's entry.

The only version of Circe that beat Kent was her with Hecate's full power and Kent was without the helm

I was speaking strictly to Pre-52 Kent Nelson, I haven't read much in regards to his current appearances so I can't comment on that.
