Poll doomsday striking vs power stone thanos striking (145 votes)
Clearly, in both scenes, the director wanted to show the power of the strike by the speed and trajectory of the punch. who punches harder in this scene?

Thanos. His base striking power is already comparable to Doomsday, the power stone makes him hit a lot harder to the point he oneshotted someone who no sold a headbutt from him.

He couldn't keep Steve down with his punches for more than a few minutes... Doomsday would splatter him
@destinyishere: @akhilxcx: @oraculi: @ganon15: could also argue Doomsday couldnt KO Diana, Batman or Superman (after he was fully healed) while Thanos was KOd 2x Thor / Hulk level characters casually.
Both are bad arguments in a thread that’s not related to the subject as a whole.

Diana's a god next to Steve and the supersoldiers
@finalkingthanos: superman died bro what else do you want he was spiked through his body and as for 2* thor and hulk when did they k.o him?????? thanos was easily punching them beating them to oblivion bcoz fat thor was so much nerfed that iw thor
@ganon15: not while Steve was also a “god” while worthy.
He KOd or oneshot street levellers and powerhouses all the time, obviously they aren’t going to kill every character that Thanos punches lol.
Doomsday did KO Clark tbf but it’s debatable if he was back to 100% by that point.
You mean while both superman and doomsday were locked together and weakened by Kryptonite? What’s that to do with anything?
Thanos while having fun KOd the hulk easily.
He KOd Thor with a kick and he KOd Thor again with a head butt then He KOd Worthy Cap with one punch in the same scene.
@finalkingthanos: you see that's the actual problem with mcu's movies. for instance take cap. normal cap stopped a full powered ig(5 stone) thanos if it was even for a second and in endgame a worthy cap couldn't beat thanos without ig. same problem with thor
I agree the MCU has that problem but that was a bad example during IW Cap does nothing to stop Thanos then grabs his hand using every ounce of strength and will and all that happens is Thanos looks at him with contempt for trying and one shots him the Russos even commented on that and Thor ambush attack.
Any time Thanos exerted himself he stomped whoever he was up against (the Iron Man drop of blood fight is the perfect example of him holding back) except for bloodlust Wanda beating him and stalemating Carol.
@finalkingthanos: but there was no instance where doomsday was overpowered even once. in fact the more they hit him he was just getting stronger and stronger. and ofcourse directors will always try to explain their visions but we all know what shit is happening there. plot convenience only
And what’s that to do with this lol you keep changing to random things ?
DD gets overpowers at the start by superman but then DD proceeds to stomp him.
DD again gets overpowered by Superman in an ambush bfr to space.
During the 2v1 he’s mostly winning no doubt because his specific power set is he evolves from the damage etc.
Diana blocks him and chops his arm off and both her and Clark have a few moments of beating him.
He’s also overpowered briefly by WWs lasso and superman’s double impaling.
He was practically unstoppable because he evolves but he didn’t straight up win every part of the fight no character except Fox X-Men seem to be that powerful.
Even ignoring the power stones planetary capabilities Thanos’s punch BFRd Captain marvel out of the entire battlefield and possibly knocked her out it’s way above anything Doomsday can manage
@destinyishere: steve takin multiple hits from Thanos
Can you show me how thanos base punches are more powerful than or equal to someone who creates shockwaves with his power?
@ganon15: You mean during Endgame? I’m pretty sure those were more casual swats than anything, and Steve blocked the attacks with his shield. So Cap got oneshotted just by the force he got sent flying, even though his shield took the actual hit. I don’t see why that is bad, and I’m pretty sure someone strong enough to crush vibranium with his fingers like potato chips, wrecked the Nanotech armor with every blow, messed up Thor, and is way stronger than the Hulk, is more than capable of killing Cap. Unless we pretend those feats are nonexistent for whatever strange reason.
Anyway, I agree with Texas.

I mean just before Thanos fights Captain Marvel, he punches Steve in the chest
@ganon15: Mjolnir amped Steve, who took straight blows from and knee’d Thanos. It’s pretty evident that he had Thor’s stats. Not only that, but the fact that he got oneshotted 2-3 times with indirect hits makes the consistency of Steve taking a blow while unamped questionable. Cmon man, you seriously think someone who smacks the shit out of MCU high tiers is gonna be unable to kill a street leveler like Rogers? What is Thanos, 20 tonner at best? That certainly seems ludicrous in regards to feats, consistency, and intent.
The power stone hasn't killed any of the MCU's high tiers because it changes its power output based on scale, it's shit compared to Doomsday who could splatter every MCU hero with one punch.

Nice find
This particular punch is is harder than Doomsday’s. I don’t see DD one shotting Carol.
@finalkingthanos: I would argue that it’s because of how DCEU portrays its characters. DD “couldn’t” KO them because their durability is too high. (Superman and WW) Batman literally only survived through plot.
@nwgzsjuwhm96y2: I second this. Now, there is no argument that can be presented to say that Supes or Diana couldn’t survive a power stone punch.
@mr_shazam0920: Not oneshotting, but he’d decimate her.
@texasdeathmatch: The power stone punch varies in force.
I wasn’t actually being full on serious merely showing how stupid people are when talking about not killing street levels and so on when it happens in both universes.
I mean even Clark has been KOd about 4 times in the DCEU 3 being early in MOS though don’t fully count but you get my point.
People act like they are all speed gods who don’t get tagged when they spend 50% of battles standing still swinging haymakers and getting clocked in the face then using a tiny burst of speed lol both CBM universe share these faults as do the comics people just don’t like using context or general / average showings and instead always aim for the highs and lows.
Thanos w/ power stone > Doomsday > base Thanos
Not that hard, guys
/thread
Base Thanos is roughly Hulk level. MCU Hulk was not as impressive as DCU Doomsday.
Cpt Marvel shrugged off a hit from Thanos, yet was blown away and put out of commission by a hit from power stone Thanos. The boost was huge.
@finalkingthanos: That is true. Plot demanded that Batman not be killed by DD. Plot demanded that Thanos not splat Cap. In the end it comes down to plot.
