Doctor Strange could trap Doctor Who in a time loop by saying, "Doctor Who! I have come to bargain!" and everytime Doctor Who loses, Doctor Strange will repeat this technique over and over again until Doctor Who gives up and admits defeat. Doctor Strange wins.

@timtenthousand:

Not... really

The Doctor has much greater intelligence feats than Strange or at least movie strange by some distance. As a multi-dimensional time traveler he's managed to influence events in almost every universe he's been introduced beating diety level creatures such as the Beast and House. I mean hell he managed to seal his own planet in a pocket dimension and re-start the universe from being erased by recreating the big bang. However almost all of these are a result of the TARDIS which is more than capable of not only travelling through time but warping the reality within it as well.

Strange's biggest problem is that his own movie admit's it's own PIS by saying that Dormamu and the Dark Dimension exist outside of time... with that being the case there is no way he would've been affected by a time loop. If Dr Strange's lore was much clearer I'd give him more credibility but I'm not even sure the eye of agamotto had the same power in the comics because I'm fairly sure it never used the Time Gem.

TARDIS > Strange > Who

Dr. Who is reality-adjacent, with his ability to travel unilaterally (within this Universe) through time. He may visit other Universes. (I've been capitalizing "Universe" ever since my Astrology prof ran through our Universal address.) He lost his coolest sidekick to another Universe. He does this with the T.A.R.D.I.S... It's a great tool for a pragmatic, peace-loving master of time, who doesn't so much use his powers as he hits the ground running, figures out a problem, then only gets violently lethal when faced with a superior force that he must tame. He's wiped out a few Cybermen.

Dr. Strange is reality-manipulative. From exiting his body and dealing with things in his astral form, to disobeying the rules and altering time and space, he's a juggernaut who reluctantly kills (because of the Hypocratic Oath). He feels regret when he must kill zealots who want to bring the dark dimension to our world and reality. He's not only got a god complex and a huge ego to tame, but he actually has god-like powers. He's trying to find his inner peace and humility, but he may be too big of a badass to ever get humble.

The fight would be interesting, Dr. Who could go blow for blow once he figures out the chi energy weapons Dr. Strange. Once Dr. Strange starts altering space/time and using that skill as a weapon, I think Dr. Who might just get smashed in between buildings that morph and move like they're in that movie Inception. Dr. Strange could kind of lose if Dr. Who jumps the tardis and starts fiddling with the controls.

Strange tries to use magic against who and discovered he can't because the timelords banished magic and he is a timelord. Or he drops the tardis with its full weight on Dr strange's head because it can crack the earth .

Or, if things are desperate, he opens the tardis console and look into the heart of the tardis and coming out as the oncoming storm…… or somthing . Being a timelord to begin with, he probably would be even more powerful than bad wolf.

With prep: I'd give it to the The Doctor, but Strange would put up a goof fight.

Without prep: I would say Dr. Strange is more likely to win.

Here's something we really have to consider if involving Doctor (Who) in a battle against a magic wielding opponent. When the Time Lords removed magic from the universe and replaced it with the laws of physics to underpin reality, they also make themselves casually immune to magic. Or at least, magic as they know it, which basically means any unnatural and irrational alterations to the normal functions of physics. The novel Christmas on a Rational Planet has this passage.

The streets of the un-city shifted like the nonsense circuitry of the gynoids themselves, but it didnʼt take long to find Christopher Cwej at the heart of it all. The pathways arranged themselves into regular patterns as the Doctor passed by, almost as if they were scared of what he might do to them if they didnʼt comply.

Basically, that scene has demonstrated that if a Time Lord is proximate to an area that is under the effect of magic, his mere presence will force his immediate surroundings to comply with the laws of physics and effectively dispel magic in that area of effect. This can be seen where the Doctor walks through a magical city that functioned in opposition to physics and it simply just starts complying with the laws of physics. Effectively, the Doctor's mere presence is casually anti-magic.

So, what we'd have to consider is what magnitude of power magic from Doctor Who is and if it is stronger than Doctor Strange's magic. If so, then we may have to presume that the Doctor is casually immune to it. If Doctor Strange's magic is fundamentally different from the magic in the Whoniverse (which doesn't seem to be the case), then we would have to consider whether or not magic is equalized in this battle. If so, the Doctor could probably casually dispel it.

I'm astonished that people think Strange wins. Doctor Strange has had a few years of his mastery of time, becoming sorcerer supreme, but the Doctor was born for it, and has had over a millennia. You might think that Strange can win by putting him in a time loop, well, if you watch Heaven Sent, the Doctor was put into a time loop for over four billion years, and he would have stayed longer if he needed to. The Doctor has also dealt with opponents on Strange's level of power before: Omega, Rassilon, Sutekh etc. In fact, Rassilon and Sutekh are probably more powerful than Strange. And while Strange is a master of time, the Doctor is a lord of it, and not only that, but THE lord of it.

In a random confrontation, Who wins 8 / 10

With prep, Who wins 9 / 10

But if it's the time lord Victorious, Strange would get absolutely obliterated, Who wins 10 / 10

And if the Doctor absolutely had to, he would create a paradox to beat Strange. He has done it before. The Doctor wraps him in unbreakable chains, forged in the heart of a dwarf star, to be imprisoned there, forever

I know both of these characters inside out, and that's why I can tell you that the Doctor wins. The Doctor wins every single time. Why? Because he has gone up against much worse than Strange. Strange is Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel universe, he has some incredible powers, but that's countered by Rassilon. The Doctor beat Rassilon

This is crucial to the fight winning in the Doctor's favour, because Strange has never shown the power to end time itself or the omniverse, only use that power, whereas the Doctor has beaten Rassilon, who almost ended time itself. And that's not even the most impressive feat, the Doctor beat Davros, multiple times, who has the intellectual and physical power to destroy every atom in existance. And on top of that, Sutekh, the Beast, the Midnight Child, and many many more. Strange wouldn't last a second after Rassilon, since Rassilon is like a more powerful Thanos, and Strange can only match Thanos for a short time, he has never beaten him

And if Strange sends the Doctor to another dimension? Well, check Spyfall, where the Doctor was transported to another dimension, but easily escaped. And if the Doctor gets desperate to escape the dimension, they can use the TARDIS key to summon the TARDIS and escape like that. This is way too unfair, but Strange would make it an interesting fight

@rosalinagalaxy3: The Doctor has beings that are more intellectual than Strange's. Rassilon, for example, is a villain who had lived for millions of years, he knew every species in the Who universe inside out, he perceived every second of existence, he knew every single atom. He was also pretty much a more powerful Thanos (keep in mind Strange has never beaten Thanos with the gauntlet) And did the Doctor beat Rassilon? Not only did he beat him, but he humiliated him in front of his own species, and exiled the man like he was a common thug

@mister_surreal: I must add something to this, while I agree that the Doctor is more likely to win with lots of prep, he is also able to think up plans that would take a millennia on the go. If you watch "Heaven Sent", he was thinking so fast that time slowed down for him, to come up with a plan that he needed to use in the next five seconds, so essentially, if the Doctor is given more than a second, he can win

Can I say thank you for not being biased though, because I see you are a Strange fan from your profile picture, lots of respect to you

@killers10333: Can I ask why if the Doctor doesn't have the TARDIS, they lose? And also, the Doctor will always have enough prep time if given more than half a second, they can think so fast that time slows down (Shown in Heaven Sent)

One more thing to add, they can also use the TARDIS key to summon the TARDIS (shown in time of the doctor)

@theanalyser: @cull_obsidian:Let me just say that if the Doctor has got half a second, then they can come up with a plan that would take the average person a millennia to come up with, and I don't see Strange beating them that fast, since they could also rely on thinking so fast that time slows down, as proved in Heaven Sent

But I saw one of you with a Thanos profile picture, and to you, I say thank you for not being biased, lots of respect to you

@daviddv0601: Check Heaven Sent where the Doctor was placed in a time loop for four billion years, and didn't even begin to tire. The Doctor would be able to use a plan by then. And plus, I doubt Strange can even use his magic on the Doctor, since the Time Lords banished magic, and the Doctor is a Time Lord

@dr_roxo: The Doctor, he is invulnerable to magic. And if you mean a physical fight? It might sound as though Strange wins that, but no, he has the strength of an average human and no fighting skill. The Doctor showed in "Robot" that he can chop a concrete block in half with one swipe, and is also a skilled fighter in Venusian Aikido (shown primarily by the Pertwee Doctor)
