Despero vs. Starro

Starro is wreaking havoc through the galaxy when his own army encounters Despero's own. They Fight.

Starro can't duplicate. At least not ..."Starro Prime"  It also should be noted that Starro draws his power from all the people under the starfish' control. Once he was severed from that link, Despero handed his ass to him rather easily (And off panel, bleh). With that said, normal Starro has mauled Despero numerous times in under a minute. He wins. "

This whole thread had me confused on why Starro was suddenly a humanoid, time to read REBELS I guess. "

The Martian has overpowered Starro before. Despero is generally shown to gain the upper hand against the Martian telepathically (although there are sometimes circumstances surrounding it). I really see no reason why Despero would lose to Starro, but DC canon dictates otherwise. :\
