Poll DCEU Supes vs MCU Thor (Tectonic Plate/Rings) (23 votes)

Tectonic Plate 48%
Rings 52%

You rarely ever see these get brought up due to a lot people saying "its an outlier" "its inconsistent" "its off screen" etc.

But lets just ignore all the outlier shit, what is the better strength feat?

Tectonic Plates are hundreds to thousands of kilometers across so it would be better than the ring feat.

The ring one for several reasons:

1- You can get a solid number going by the amount of ice broken.

2- We see how it happens in detail on-screen and have everything given to us to actually calculate it.

3- It’s not a newspaper headline

4- It’s not from a deleted scene

5- Its a minute long scene and not a hardly noticed Easter egg.

Neither. One is an outlier. And the other is way more hyped. The ring feat has several facets that make it a lot less impressive. And most high tiers can do it. According to the Russo’s.

Not true. he had massive trouble lifting hulks arm off of him in Avengers 1, and lifted a car with 1 arm in AOU.

The ring feat.

If we just believe them both, then Thor exerted pressure along metal miles and miles away from himself; even assuming that the metal didnt have any deflection(bend) its still a crazy stupid feat.

Definitely a outlier as this kinda force has never ever been shown onscreen in a live action fight.

-----

The Tectonic plate feat is harder to analyze, for obvious reasons.

But it was a easer egg and a nod to a Christopher Reeves Superman feat.

So I think its fair to see how Reeves did it.

---

I think they are near equatable as stupid ridiculous strength feats.

@kalkent: Because Hulk is stronger than Thor.

He lifted the car with ease, that means that is not his limit.

@lan_fan: The OP is about the dismissal of the feats by either calling them outliers or dismissal of the tectonic feat in its entirety due to it being off-screen. Even if we accept their existence and accept them being the intended level of the characters, the tectonic plate one has soo many unknowns about it that it becomes a "decide your own level" headcanon feat. Any kinda calc of it can only be based on multiple unprovable assumptions.

The equalent of the tectonic plate feat for Thor's another feat "Nidavellir beam" would be a newspaper headline like "SURVIVING THE FULL FIRCE OF ANEUTRIN STAR!". Without further context this would make Thor look like a planetary powerhouse.

@nwgzsjuwhm96y2: If superman actually moved the tectonic plate using brute strength, then it dwarfs the ring feat in strength.
