Could see him lwinning against weakened AFO but losing to prime. Should he beat both, you can throw in current Tomura as 11. at which he would certainly stop.

But as long as he doesn't dick around, he can take it via blitzing and then vaporizing him via HV.

@tighten_returns: he has physicals stats equal or superior to superman except for speed. A shit ton of versatality. Decay.
Especially without prep or knowledge, thare is a good chance he just gets decayed by something.

@cryolancer47: Supes Heatvision does not have the feats to suggest, he would do decisive damage to Shigaraki in a reasonable amount of time, considering that he took the heat of several intercontinental cruise missles and tanked Endeavors flames in a weaker state that Stars and Stripes considered to be above lasor weapons.

If you don't buy the continental plate shifting thing, he also lacks in strength behind Shigaraki.

Shiggy is also far more versatile and his decay is a potential oneshot, especially without knowledge.

The only thing that Supe may have, is superior speed but considering that he has at least as up- than down feats and his combat movements can usally be followed even by batman, I doubt that he can statue Shigaraki who scales noticeably above Mach 100.

@emperrorafo: kryptonian cells don't decay though so I don't see how that's gonna work, that's why it was possible to revive him and how lex created zod.

He's a statue to superman and what feats does he have on par with superman?

That kind of arguement is already enough to make sure I won't waste my time discussing with you.

@tighten_returns: Decay isn't really like something aging fast, or "decaying" per se. It just makes whatever comes in contact crumble to dust. We shouldn't put an NLF to it ofc, but I don't see why Supes would be immune to it.

Heat vision could work, I guess. As long as it's concentrated on his head. Freezing Shigaraki could also work. If we think he's fast enough to get a good amount of each off before Shigaraki retaliates.

I personally think ShigAFO is too versatile, but that remains to be seen when we get to see him use his quirks again.

Never mentioned any of those things cause Clark could win with his speed and strength alone.

Although I will say Clark froze steppenwolf's axe that's about the size of a person's torso with only a second of freeze breath.

I think superman is too fast to the point shigaraki isn't even touching him, more versatile and probably stronger.

I doubt I need to say this since it seems obvious but superman stomps.

@eobard21: How. Shigaraki took ten seconds to decay overhauls arms when he was restrained and not using his quirk. He couldn't cut off eraser heads arm despite eraser head's quirk giving him no edge in durability

For sure. It's a quirk, which is the "superpower" aspect of My Hero Academia. Some of the quirks have very little logic behind them, but I guess the aptest comparison is mutant abilities from X-Men, just often weirder. For example, Star and Stripe's quirk, New Order. Where she can apply rules to whatever she is in contact with (including air) with certain limitations.

Decay is one of several quirks Shigaraki possesses, and it has the same effect on all materials. It simply disintegrates whatever it comes into contact with, regardless if its biological material or otherwise. With the same speed and crumble effect on everything, be it people, dirt, stone, metal, etc, as long as it's tangible.

I can gather some examples of it being used if you're interested. Example 1, Example 2.

That aside, I think it's more than fair that some people think Superman wins (especially due to speed). But Supes shouldn't be more versatile as ShigaAFO has a plethora of different quirks.

It's never been stated to function by using fungi or bacteria to break things down or cause things to "rot" IIRC. From the databooks all we can gather is that "anything he touches turns to dust", "it lets him disintegrate anything he touches", things "crumble until nothing is left". You can infer that it's done by some form of magical transmutation, since quirks can be like that when they want to be.

I'd hardly call this 10 seconds.

If you're using the anime then it's probably cinematic timing.

And just as an example of how fast it was back then he did this to one of Overhaul's goons earlier that arc.

I assume that in the post superman is at least base, not weakened so superman at that level should be strong enough to tank a nuke which is above most of the mha verse excluding stars and stripes since shes a reality warper
