Mera didn't do anything Katara couldn't do. Katara's soundly the better hydrokinetic. Then again, I don't really see how she'd deal a significant amount of damage to Mera.

OP doesn't say anything about a full moon so bloodbending is irrelevant.

What isn't irrelevant is the massive stat gap between the two. Mera could rip Katara in half with her bare hands.

She will counter all of meras attacks easily mainly because she has actually battled water benders where as Mera hasn’t she is the only one who can do what she does in dceu.

Like boxing or combat sport doesn’t matter how good you look on the bags without experience or actual fights you would get destroyed in an actual fight

The type of waterbenders Katara fights are not like Mera. Mera isn't limited to moving water based on martial arts movements, so Katara will be fighting someone unlike any other waterbender she's ever fought. Mera is also a highly skilled and efficient warrior. All she needs to do is use her water powers enough to keep Katara's attacks from landing and then rip Katara in half.

Can’t Katara just freeze her?

Location and distance would help a lot.

Mera did make a safe zone in the middle of a tsunami, and bloodlusted would spike Katara, otherwise she hasn't done something with limited water that Katara didn't deal with. But nothing Katara can put out would really put her down her, except possibly when bloodlusted (depending on her piercing durability).

Round 1) I'm thinking stalemate if there's barely any water, or Mera manages to spike her or get close. Cant ses Katara using the necessary force with morals here.

Round 2) Either Katara manages to slice her enough if possible, or Mera closes the distance or again slices her.

Katara's ice skills ought to be the difference maker, she can ostensibly block, halt or otherwise alter any water attacks Mera uses. Not to mention the offensive and restrictive capabilities they afford.

I'm pretty sure Mera is a more powerful water bender, raw power wise. Katara is more versatile, but that doesn't stop Mera from overpowering her hydrokinesis, and beating her in h2h.

The only reason Mera would win is because she should be pretty much invulnerable to water based attacks.

@miekskywalker: In the snyder cut, Mera was able to suck the water and even the blood inside Steppenwolf.
