There is no version of Thor that Ares would beat. The only thing you could argue is TP but I don't recall him ever using that offensively. He doesn't have the output to harm Thor significantly and doesn't have the feats to tank lightning.

@foxerdes: That’s like asking for someone to defend Wonder Woman against Captain America when the only evidence provided for Captain America was “Cap wins”

However, since this is a pretty casual win for Thor, how about you explain how Ares will survive Thor’s lighting strikes from the sky? Thor has quite a few advantages. I’m very interested to see why you think Ares would win, especially because you are in the minority here

Striking that surpasses Hulk’s, with a shockwave comparable to strikes from dceu Superman.

Lightning projection larger then skyscrapers, even comparable to the mountain sized palace.

Here’s my case...

Thor drops a multi city block lvl lightning bolt on Ares’s head, because Ares is slow, he gets vaporized.

Present a actual case yourself that somehow counters the factual striking and lightning projection gap, not to mention the absurd durability gap(sakovia or ragnarok hulk fight) then you can get back on your “make a case or move along” high horse...

Ares didn't really do much to suggest he can take down Thor.

It did feel like he wasn't fighting to his full potential.
