God of Thunder vs God of War who wins ?
Starts 100 meters apart
Morals off
Bloodlusted
R1: H2H only
R2: Lightning only
R3: All out
Nobody saw the movie to tell if Ares is strong as his mythological counterpart.
If you have seen the movie don't spoil.
@all-father: its first screening was a weak ago iirc
Private Screening, not public..
Most of us have to wait till the movie is released.
@nwgzsjuwhm96y2: How strong was Ares ????
@allstarsuperman: tbf, this is an earlier version of Diana. She's slower than the WW we saw in BvS.
It's not put in the US, but it's out most other places.
Where?
It's a tough choice they can both hurt each other, Thor has higher durability compared to Diana so will tank what he throws at him better, the question is can he put Ares down I think he can hurt Ares so could eventually and he could also pretty much do what Diana did to end the fight and Thor hits a lot harder than Diana
I'm honestly leaning towards Thor taking it maybe 6/10 my mind could be changed though
Backing Thor.
You've seen it bro?
Ares stomps hard, thor isn't really impressive in h2h and he's either matched or gotten stomped by any named character and his casual lightning is just.....
@DammeFavour: What about R3 Thor hits way harder than Diana and has way better durability feats. It's by no means a stomp at all Ares struggled putting down Diana who isn't as durable as Thor
@thorthunder98: um no.....thor got a nosebleed from hulk, diana took multiple more powerful punches from doomsday without taking any damage, she tanked his heat vision and his electrical release. And was able to knock doomsday off his feet completely.
So yea she is far beyond thor
Round 1 - Ares quite easily, about 9/10. He's been shown to be at least the equal of WW when it comes to H2H, which MCU Thor has not been shown to be anywhere close.
Round 2 - Might give this one to Thor, but not easily. Maybe about 6.5/10. Both lightnings were impressive, but we haven't seen enough destructive capability of Ares' lightning, since the only time we saw it, it was absorbed by WW's bracelets.
Round 3 - Really tough and good fight. Thor has been shown to have more pure strength, but Ares has more skill and versatility. I guess I'd give it to Ares 5.5/10, but maybe I'm biased.
Backing Thor.
You've seen it bro?
Yeah. Good film.
@DammeFavour: does he have good strength feats?

WW deflects bullets.
@DammeFavour: Thor also survived a city exploding and Batman under a slab of concrete also survived DD's emissions and in his plane survived his laser vision.
@DammeFavour: Thor also survived a city exploding and Batman under a slab of concrete also survived DD's emissions and in his plane survived his laser vision.
The bold was pure PIS. Doomsday’s blasts were literally disintegrating buildings as the explosions expanded so no way batman should have lived. I love BvS and that is one of the few gripes I had with the film. I'd like to think because Superman and Wonder Woman were "kinda" standing in front of Batman, they deflected a portion of the blast away from him but there is no way to prove that iirc. Regarding his plane, the fact that it didn't blow up probably has something to do with the technology and where it was hit so I wouldn't count that.
@americanspeeddemon: iron man also tanked as much as thor, so not very impressive. he survived because of plot armor. doomsday only hit the wing of the batwing and that plane tanked multiple gunshots
@allstarsuperman: tbf, this is an earlier version of Diana. She's slower than the WW we saw in BvS.
There's no reason she should be slower than she was in BvS.
@DammeFavour: ironman was at the edge of the explosion Thor was in the epicenter big difference plus that's a great feat for Iron man anyways.
@americanspeeddemon: thor was not at the epicentre, there were 2 open ends, iron man was at one end, thor at the other plus the actual explosion happened within the city. So they both only took a fraction. Plus we have clear showings of his durability like the hulk punch, the boulder, the concrete pillars and the fall from the helicarrier
@DammeFavour: you're misremembering Thor was in the center of the city he was the catalyst. Ironman was under the city and began to fly away before the explosion hit him.
Thor striking the vibrainium pillar is what started the explosion Thor was literally inches away from the start of the explosion. Ironman was at least a few hundred yards away.
@americanspeeddemon: I still doubt very much he got hit severely by the explosion. Sokovia took all of the explosion, not Thor. If the blast went in the opposite direction an actually hit thor, i would be inclined to agree. He probably just felt some recoil from the blast similiar to when you shoot a gun and there is recoil.
@thelastdragonborn: thor was in the center of the city and it all blew up including the parts of the city behind him. It's more similar to holding a grenade than a gun.
@americanspeeddemon: thor had about 2km of landmass as cover
@americanspeeddemon: Grenades go in all directions. The explosion was clearly going in the opposite direction as thor. It went after him then spread out throughout the city
@thelastdragonborn: @DammeFavour: again the explosion started from mjolnir and spread out throughout the city including the parts behind him. Remember the church was in the center of the city so the explosion had to travel backwards past Thor to destroy that part. Watch the scene again i think you guys are misremembering how the explosion happened
@americanspeeddemon: No part of the city was behind Thor. Nothing behind the city was hurt at all. The explosion stated from Mjlnir and spread out forwards from there. It didnt hit thor.
