@anthp2000: @bladeoffury: Comic book Aquaman has been stated and demonstrated to be stronger and faster out of the water. His body is adapted to the pressure and resistance so being on land just removes that pressure and resistance. This was stated many times.
He's also been stated to process chemicals in sea water to give him his strength and speed and needs the water to replish his strength when he's low on nutrients. That was once in the nineties.
Moving in to Rebirth it was also demonstrated Atlanteans need to be careful when not facing that resistance on land or they could throw themselves off balance. That was shown by Tempest when DC was restarting Titans.
Aquaman was specifically called out as a super atlantean because his hybrid physiology brought forward ancient recessive traits on top of all royal atlanteans being superior.
He's also uniquely tied to the life force like Flash is tied to the speed force. The connection to the life force is an inherited trait initiated in his ancestory by Arion and Poseidon. It's the life force that gives him his telepathic abilities but those abilities cross over into more advanced forms of life manipulation at times.
He was ruler of the most technologically advanced civilazation on the planet, and has the training and perks that come with such a role.
That's an explanation of his abilities in a nutshell. Stength, speed, durability, healing factor, super senses, combat skill, advanced science training, magic weapons, telepathic abilities.
I can give a wealth of Aquaman information.
It's more likely the plasma blast weakened him tban he's actually weaker on land. He tanks heat based attacks all the time but he's been shown to be weakened by such attacks in comics. A primary example would be the manacles channeling the fire pits of apokalips bringing hom down to half strength in Mkngul's arena at the beginning of Metal.
As for the grenade, it really is the low showing. It's also possibly from the prototype sub and armaments Manta had stolen from the US military in the film so ptentially better than typical anyway. The grenade did no damage while another easily shattered the sub's ballast. I think the point of that was a mix of comic element while demonstrating Aquaman's skin was tougher than high grade steel.
