DCAU Superman vs DCEU Ares
Lightning/electricity was basically Superman's kryptonite in DCAU. I don't see him tanking a thunderbolt capable of doing this-
He's out-reacted lightning before:
@modernww2fare: Moving out of way of lightening coming from several miles is not same as doing it from close range.
Superman quite easly. His mere punches were shaking metropolis.

he reacted to omega beam and dodged it from point blank range. How about that?
Result of battle. Ares gets same threatment as Grodd

Batman outran same omega beam..

didnt outrun, rather used parademon to dodge it. also there were many incosistencies in those series. But still fact is fact

Then why is Superman dodging omega beam impressive? Omega beam obviously wasn't that fast if a peak human character could dodge it.

thats why i said inconsistent. In one occasion his omega effect wiped out lex and his villain friends and they survive only due to sinestros ring. The other occasion its not powerfull enough to destroy a wall. This something called pis.
And yet still far better in anything than Ares have shown. Best weapon of ares was that mediocre lightning. He survived stronger lighnting in the series from shazam and was stroke multiple times. Far better strenght feats, even better speed feats. Ares really shown barely any speed feats, was ragdolled by wonder woman with mediocre wonder woman punches compared to Superman punches who shook entire metropolis with his punches on the ground and he punched Darkseid hard enough to sent multiple blocks away trough buildings and all that.
Ares is getting seriosly overrated.

We aren't discussing OB's destructive power. We are discussing its speed. Why would dodging OB imply Clark can dodge lightning?

Stronger lightening? Based on what exactly? Shazam's lightning has no feats in DCAU that comes even close to what Ares' thunderbolt did.

@modernww2fare: Episode number?
@rbt: "Double Dose"

Alright, fair enough.
Superman.
I've always wondered why in these forums the second a character encounters lightning from someone with abilities as such and dodge or react, they're automatically a lightning-timer. None of the lightning I've seen produced, bar Zeus' in God of War, resembles natural lightning in speed.
Even Wonder Woman's feat of reacting to Ares' lightning twice didn't seem to be anywhere near as fast as natural lightning.
All this said, I still think Ares wins if Clark just jobs.

It's always been the case (in these boards too) that different source means different speed, I'm not sure where you've seen people saying that.

Clark has literally dodged lightning that came out of the clouds because of Weather Wizard changing weather patterns. Slow animation speed ≠ slow lightning.

I wasn't referring to Clark in this instance, just a general observation.

I've seen before where persons with the ability got their speeds matched with actual lightning from the sky.
