Bane's stranger style and aggression could cause Ventress issues, but she has adapted to that fairly well. Other than that, Ventress is more skilful, Bane is more powerful, and they're about even in most other areas.
@zapan87: I doubt it would be as simple as that. Ventress has better skill feats, to be sure, but then, Bane is also physically stronger and his Djem So style revolves around his curved hilt, which is unlike anything Ventress has fought before. She has met both Djem So and curved hilts before (in fact, she uses curved hilts), but she hasn't encountered an opponent who used both at once. It's a marginal edge at best, and even Farfalla could adapt to it well enough, but it might offset the fact that Ventress has adapted to fighting physically stronger opponents, in which case Bane's strength could cause some issues.
Otherwise, I agree. That said, Bane is not more powerful than Ventress by such a margin that he would win an overall fight solely due to power.
lol at Bane stomping.
In terms of dueling, Ventress edges it.
In terms of Force, Bane edges it.
In terms of overall, flip a coin.
Being the most powerful Sith of the Era > being an incomplete and failed apprentice not even trained to be a true Sith
Slaughtering countless Jedi, skilled and fodder alike > killing a dozen or so Jedi, most of them fodder and via indirect combat and advantages
Slaughtering hundreds of fellow Sith in direct combat > losing to Savage Opress, not even a real Sith, getting stomped by Count Dooku, etc.
And many more reasons, but in general, being the most powerful Sith of his era by itself merits a stomp.
As Yoda said, she's strong, but not that strong.
Good-day.
@sirfizzwhizz: ^^
Already tried countering this dude’s trollish opinions in other threads. You can take a crack at it now.
Pardon me, but what does DOE mean?
Its end game Bane before he dies. No Orbalisk Armor either.
Bane being top tier doesn't mean jack shit when his era is pretty much fodder in comparison to the PT era, lmao.
Too bad Bane hasn't actually done either of those things. He faced exactly 5 Jedi in his entire lifetime, and only actually killed 2 of them. The number of Sith he's faced in direct combat ranges from 2 to 5 (depending on if you want to flatter Sirak and his stooges by giving them that title). The "hundreds" that he killed were killed by tricking them into blowing themselves up with a thought bomb.
@azronger: Shadow Guard scaling?
Unfortunately I was not referring to any of those events.. I was referring to the events on Devaron, which you are clearly unaware of.
Do a bit more research, you'll see what I mean.
Bane being the most powerful Sith of his time alone places Ventress within his stomp level.
Good-day.
@lord_tenebrous: I'm willing to bet most people here aren't aware of Bane having any feats on Devaron, considering that there's no source ever even placing him on that planet. :/
The Bounty Hunter Cad Bane went to Devaron.
Darth Bane never has.
As usual Tene spouting his unfounded headcannon brings unending amusement.
@combomanisthebest: He stood outside when it was raining really hard and deflected rain drops on his lightsaber.
@greysentinel365: And the worst part is he actually had the gall to tell another user to do their research. Ironic.
@beanzzy: Yeah, it's nothing new. He resorted to forging quotes when he got dismantled in the Malgus vs Vader thread.
@thevivas Correct me if i'm wrong, but he stood out there the entire storm and not a single drop of water hit him, so how would Ventress get past his guard?
@combomanisthebest: It’s not as impressive of a feat as you think. And it wasn’t a full blown “storm” in the sense I think you’re referring to.
My opinion three years ago was Bane wins; it’s largely the same now as it was back then.
Bane, but him stomping is ludicrous. Then again, coming from the guy who said Bane would beat Krayt 10/10 I'm not surprised.
Ventress
There is no RoT boost
The films were made prior to the EU and from the films and TCW they were already capped
Darth Krayt is RoTS Sidious level and he was previously RoTS Kenobi level prior to a small DS boost
Fisto is actually able to react to Sidious and is a low diff gap below him (DS boost gap)
We already know the Dark Side boost is quantifiable, yellow eyes give you 1 gap, immersion over time another
Plagueis felt stronger after Tenebrous's death but that was a pivotal time in his life
Sidious felt some insane delirium after the adrenaline rush of killing Plagueis, Plagueis didn't feel this
All the RoT individuals are similar in power, Sidious used haze to confuse Plagueis who was stagnant
Bane is Yoda level and his telekinesis potential is easily in the range of TCW Maul's capped feat etc.
Asajj was always someone who I thought used the same tactics as Grievous to gain advantages
I'm not sure she's even Master level in power more like Knight level it seems
So Bane low to no diffs her
In the old legends continuity, I would side with Darth Bane for a hard-fought majority. Asajj Ventress is likely more skilled than even Darth Zannah, and her power isn't far behind. Nevertheless, Bane is the more experienced, more skillful swordmaster, and his sheer strength will be overwhelming. His mastery of the Force noticeably eclipses her own command of its power, and so, Asajj is outmatched in most every category, save stamina and agility. The Dark Lord of the Sith, 8-9/10.
