Thanos stomps because he actually has feats. Having the Infinity Gauntlet doesn't make you powerful if you don't know how to use it. Not even Reed Richards, one of the most powerful minds not on Marvel Earth but the entire Multiverse couldn't control in properly. It was show in New Avengers: Illuminati #2. Hell, Night-Omniscient Uatu the Watcher said that Reed will destroy everything and that the gems can't be controlled by anyone.

Even if Tony Stark and Black Panther were able to use the Infinity Gauntlet to a degree (which kinda debunks Uatu's statement on humans not being able to use the gems), it does not mean anyone can control it properly like Thanos and Adam Warlock. That is why we are using feats and Darkseid has none. We are not suppose to assume he can use it because he is a New God.

@krleavenger: Uatu didn't say that he couldn't use it. All he said is that humans aren't meant to have this kind of power. He even said that Reed would destroy everything. He'd need the IG to destroy everything.

OT: It would probably be a stalemate. IG=IG and in the face of that individual powers of Darkseid and Thanos are irrelevant.

@thearchon:He said the humans should not use it, in sense that they can't use it properly, like Reed couldn't. He would destroy everything because Gems are out of control while he is wielding them, not because he can do that via gems, since he doesn't even want to do it. For all we know, Darkseid could be as bad as Reed and Steve were or he can be as good as Warlock or Thanos. Or in between. We don't know because he doesn't have feats with the gems.

@chimeroid: Infinity Gauntlet user can't stalemate another Infinity Gauntlet user unless they have feats with the gems to prove they can control it properly like the other one. For instance, Adam Warlock would stomp Captain America if they both use the Infinity Gauntlet, because Cap can't use it properly while Warlock's feats with the gems were as impressive as Thanos's.

@krleavenger: Have we ever actually seen IG user going against another IG user? It is true that feats matter, but sometimes it is a bit more complicated than that.

@chimeroid: No we haven't and I agree that there are times when feats don't matter, but, we have seen other people failing to preform feats that are nothing compared to what Thanos and Warlock could do with the gems. If anyone who ever used the Infinity Gauntlet had no trouble using it, then I would agree that it is a stalemate. A matter of perspective I guess.
