New 52 onwards
Who wins and why
He died, but, as Darkseid is a New God that can only truly be killed by Orion, he got back through a convoluted set of events. He got back as a child, and he is slowly regaining his powers and growing up. He is very young, so, he got an updated look.
@kevd4wg: It's easy not to notice the flaws because the OKT story has devolved into a series of successive fights with characters gaining new powers or stealing them from one another constantly. Gorr first has the Necrosword, then no, OKT has it, then Galactus has it, then again no, Ego has it, but wait, Loki outsmarts Ego and he has it before he challenges OKT to one final fight (but not really). That's how we also ended up with Wolverinix and Doom, the Fist Starbrand Supreme.
What kind of drivel is that? The original OKT plotline was actually linked to Gorr and the conclusion of his story, everything else is simply Aaron bloating the concept long past the point of its eruption because he has nothing more to say but has to fill in the pages somehow.
Thor has pretty much brought a hungry Galactus to his knees before being temporarily incapacitated by a cheap shot, landed what would have been a killing blow on the Phoenix and held his own against it while holding back, and is set to go toe to toe with the necrosword again if Aaron's writing is any indication.
He should stomp this.
