Those unaware of how powerful it is(careful for spoilers) --

Lara - "That would require too much energy."

Superman - "How much?"

Lara - "We would need something that rivals this planet's sun."

Later in the episode

Superman- "Is it ready?"

General Lane - "It is. Except for the energy source part. We don't have anything strong enough here."

Superman - "Yes, we do. Me. I'll release all my energy at once. Create a solar flare. It will be enough."

Now keep in mind, Superman didn't end up producing enough energy on his own. He had 'assist' from over a dozen other Kryptonians, though it was implied he could have done it solo.

TLDR - By statements and implication, Supes can generate enough energy to rival earth's Sun. By feats, he can generate enough energy to rival 1/20th of earth's Sun(depends on how many Kryptonians were there and assuming they are all as powerful as Superman).

Rules

  • Opponent has to stand in a place and take the entire energy on their torso. No armor(except Round 3). If they are KOed or dead, Superman wins.
  • If the gauntlet is out of order(it probably is), just point out who wins and who loses.

Gauntlet -

  1. 616 Spiderman.
  2. 616 Colossus
  3. 616 Iron Man
  4. 616 Thing
  5. PC Wonder Woman
  6. 616 Thor
  7. 616 Hulk
  8. PC Superman
  9. PC Doomsday

@rbt: Is this his normal HV or was he amped? The surface of the sun is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's at least as hot as DCEU Superman's HV in canon. Also, he likely stops at Round 2 or Round 4.

Normal. But he lost his powers after that feat, so its his upper limit.

It wasn't about the temperature. But the energy.

Tbh, it's a cool picture. Also, the energy would likely be pretty insane. The joules and the luminosity of the sun normally puts out about 4,000,000 tons every second, but if it he was matching 1/20th of its energy, then that comes to 800,000 tons or joules of energy each second. That's crazy.

I'd like to see a good energetic quantification, because I don't think that Clark can destroy a planet with just his HV, but I also don't see his HV only being able to melt metal

Wtf? If Iron Man is so powerful, why does he loses to Spider-Man so often?

1/20th of the Sun's energy output is 4.596 Exatons (per second), which is 4,596,080,305 megatons. So imagine 92 million Tsar Bombs in a concentrated beam of energy...

This is not akin to an explosion durability feat for any of these characters because in any explosion no-one is taking the full blast, only part of it. In this case, these characters are taking the full energy concentrated in a tiny beam on their chest. If the beam is the size as shown in the image in the OP, then we can assume the beam area is 2 cm^2. This would mean an energy flux of ~230 BILLION Megatons per meter squared. I don't know all of the high end feats of each character but I doubt any survive.

@crapser: Considering it was a real high end feat and basically drained him of his powers, I don't think it's a stretch to say it's the case, especially since in normal circumstances he doesn't push his HV to this level, this is like his max

That's a pretty crazy feat. Maybe I should consider giving Superman & Lois a watch.

Edit: Emmanuelle Chriqui playing Lana Lang? Hot damn.

Stops at 2 or definitely at 3. Also out of order. Thing is definitely more durable than Wonder Woman and it can be argued that he's tougher than Thor too. Hulk is more durable than Superman. Doomsday's placement is questionable as well.

This sounds like a huge outlier, and this puts CW Superman at a higher level than PC Superman as well
