Hes gonna feel it like a hot shower probably. No sells DD heatvision, stands in planetary altering gravity beam. Heals up from a nuke. Theese beams does not even deserve to be mentioned in the same vein as a nuke. Hes too beefy to be hurt by this.

Weak bait

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he get through those bullets just fine, and the cut we are witnessing is from Faora? This looks like trickery to me, given my memories of the movie.

Yes that is in fact a deceptive cut. That is not the order in which things happened.

No, superman’s best heat resistance feat is “tanking” that nuke. A nuke reaches about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightning alone is nearly 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit. And throwing in vision and tony’s re entry level lasers are overkill.

P.S I only meant tony’s lasers can burn through re entry level ships, as he did it in IW. Idk about vision though.

@nwgzsjuwhm96y2: Oh you’re right. Lightning is actually 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit my bad. But a nuke according to google is 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

@ourmanuel: Yeah, in its center when exploding. Which is less than a millisecond. And Superman did not take the full heat of its center anyway.

Avatar image for ourmanuel
#39 Posted by ourmanuel (11885 posts) - - Show Bio

@matthew660: I know it’s less than a second, but it’s still very impressive nonetheless. Also, how didn’t he take the full heat?

@ourmanuel: He wasn’t directly in the center and he had doomsday in front of him.

@ourmanuel: He was 2-3 meters away from the core. So he took like %1 - % 0.4 of the total heat of the nuke.

What’s your source on that percentage?

The nuke exploded Right in front of him

and he had doomsday in front of him.

the Difference would be, in scientific terminology, negligible.

@ourmanuel: You ever notice how if you touch a flame but move your hand away really fast then you don’t feel anything? Same thing here except an explosion happens way faster than the motion of a human hand.

Avatar image for DammeFavour
#45 Posted by DammeFavour (8462 posts) - - Show Bio

@matthew660: lol....you do understand this is a nuke and not some open flame right? That analogy is extremely flawed and completely meaningless. Superman was right next to doomsday and he was exposed to at least 50 million degrees of heat, and it's not like it just cools down

Avatar image for nwgzsjuwhm96y2

@ourmanuel: Surface area of a sphere = 4π r^2. 4π x 2^2 = ~50 m^2 or 4π x 3^2 = ~113. Exposed surface area of superman = ~0.5 m^2. Taken energy = %1 - %0.44. Yield of the nuke = 300-1050 kt. Low end heat taken ~1.3 kt or ~5.55 TJ or 5 550 000 000 000 joules.

@DammeFavour: Of course it cools down. And extremely fast too. Have you ever heard of black body radiation ?

Surviving a temperature for 0.000001 seconds is not enough to prove you can survive something with lower temperature for an entire minute.

Still burning supermans skin takes around 10-30 million times what is needed to cause 3rd degree burns on humans. Or 1,100,000,000 joules/cm^2 (look at my other post for the reasoning). Even the first arc reactor produced 3,000,000,000 joules a second. And Thor easily overcharged that with a tiny lightning. Thor can burn his entire face if he just stands there to take it for a full minute.
