Conan ! :D
Any reason?
Conan ! :D
Any reason?
Because he is Conan !
I'm kidding.
He lives in a World really hardcore and I think the fact that he became a King by kicking some asses highlight him comparing to Shredder.
Hmmm I actually think this is a pretty decent thread and I'm surprised it doesn't have more comments. Shredder probably has a slight skill edge but Conan is physically superior, can tank massive amounts of damage and has a ferocity that I don't think shredder has ever faced before. I will give it to the Barbarian for a 7/10 majority
Going with Shredder. This guy blocks blows from super human strength turtles, and can fight all four at once. Add to that he has bullet timing feats. He also has a clear skill advantage from his experience of past lives, and emberasses skillful beings like the turtles or even Splinter.
In the end he is just better than what Conan brings to the fight.
This is an awesome fight and a really cool idea :) Shredder wins in the category of skill, instinct and weaponry while Conan takes the cake when it comes to physicals as well as stats its close but I`m siding more with Shredder on this one considering his high end feats against the Turtles who are very impressive within their respective universe.
This is an awesome fight and a really cool idea :)
Glad you think so too.
Shredder wins this simply beacuse he is better fighter but Conan is not a chump
Robert Howard never gave exact details about Conan's height, weight, etc. He probably lived in a medieval type society where height averages were equal to today's average. For the Hyborian Age, he was sometimes described as "massive". Whether this refers to his height or muscle mass, or both is unknown. Estimates of these statistics vary by author, and Conan's presumed age at the time of a given tale.
Skills/Abilities: Conan is an accomplished hunter, unarmed combatant, sword-fighter, horseman, and archer. Conan is familiar with the following weapons: the knife, the axe, the longsword, the broadsword, the short sword, and the bow. The broadsword is his favored weapon. He was one of the most accomplished swordsmen of the Hyborian Age. He is often listed alongside D'artagnan, King Arthur, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ogami Itto and Zorro as one of the greatest fictional sword fighters in history. Conan has unusual strength, agility, and speed for a human, often lifting immense objects or enemies, and relying upon his lightning-fast reflexes in combat situations. Through years of dealing with sorcerers, magicians and witches he has developed a moderate level of resistance to magic and mind control spells. While primarily known as a wandering sell-sword, Conan progressively became a master tactician, leading entire armies into battle. Eventually, Conan became king of Aquilonia by his own hand.
Personality Conan is frequently described as being "grim", or "suffering from great melancholies". In modern times he might be diagnosed as having bipolar disorder or some other form of depression. Less frequently he can be found to be quite mirthful, and occasionally he is prone to fits of rage when in battle. He also exhibits a strong wanderlust.
Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandalled feet."
Robert E. Howard, The Phoenix on the Sword, 1932.
Conan has "sullen", "smoldering" and "volcanic" blue eyes with a black "square-cut mane". Howard once describes him as having a hairy chest and, while comic book interpretations often portray Conan as wearing a loincloth or other minimalist clothing to give him a more barbaric image, Howard describes the character as wearing whatever garb is typical for the land and culture in which Conan finds himself. Howard never gave a strict height or weight for Conan in a story, only describing him in loose terms like "giant" and "massive".[6] In the tales, no human is ever described as being stronger than Conan, although several are mentioned as taller (such as the strangler Baal-pteor) or of larger bulk. In a letter to P. Schuyler Miller and John D. Clark in 1936, only three months before Howard's death, Conan is described as standing 6 feet (1.8 m) and weighing 180 pounds (82 kg) when he takes part in an attack on Venarium at only 15 years old, though being far from fully grown.During his reign as king of Aquilonia, Conan was
... a tall man, mightily shouldered and deep of chest, with a massive corded neck and heavily muscled limbs. He was clad in silk and velvet, with the royal lions of Aquilonia worked in gold upon his rich jupon, and the crown of Aquilonia shone on his square-cut black mane; but the great sword at his side seemed more natural to him than the regal accoutrements. His brow was low and broad, his eyes a volcanic blue that smoldered as if with some inner fire. His dark, scarred, almost sinister face was that of a fighting-man, and his velvet garments could not conceal the hard, dangerous lines of his limbs
Despite his brutish appearance, Conan uses his brains as well as his brawn. The Cimmerian is a talented fighter, but his travels have given him vast experience in other trades, especially as a thief. He is also a talented commander, tactician, and strategist, as well as a born leader. In addition, Conan speaks many languages, including advanced reading and writing abilities: in certain stories, he is able to recognize, or even decipher, certain ancient or secret signs and writings; for example, in "Jewels of Gwahlur" Howard states, "In his roaming about the world the giant adventurer had picked up a wide smattering of knowledge, particularly including the speaking and reading of many alien tongues. Many a sheltered scholar would have been astonished at the Cimmerian's linguistic abilities." He also has incredible stamina, enabling him to go without sleep for a few days. In "A Witch Shall be Born", Conan fights armed men until he is overwhelmed, captured, and crucified, and goes a night and a day without water, but still possesses the strength to pull the nails from his feet, then to hoist himself into a horse's saddle and ride ten miles.
Another noticeable trait is his sense of humor, largely absent in the comics and movies, but very much a part of Howard's original vision of the character (particularly apparent in "Xuthal of the Dusk", also known as "The Slithering Shadow.") His sense of humor can also be rather grimly ironic, as was demonstrated by how he meted out justice to the treacherous - and ill-fated - innkeeper Aram Baksh in "Shadows in Zamboula."
He is a loyal friend to those true to him, with a barbaric code of conduct that often marks him as more honorable than the more sophisticated people he meets in his travels. Indeed, his straightforward nature and barbarism are constants in all the tales.
Conan is a formidable armed and unarmed combatant. With his back to the wall, Conan is capable of engaging and killing opponents by the score. This is seen in several stories, such as "Queen of the Black Coast", "The Scarlet Citadel" and "A Witch Shall be Born". Conan is not superhuman, though he did need the providential help of Zelata's wolf to defeat four Nemedian soldiers in the story The Hour of the Dragon. Some of his hardest victories have come from fighting single opponents of inhuman strength: one such as Thak, the ape man from "Rogues in the House", or the strangler Baal-Pteor in "Shadows in Zamboula". Conan is far from untouchable and has been captured and defeated several times (on one occasion knocking himself out drunkenly running into a wall).

Shredder
Highly skilled master of ninjutsu
Peak physical condition
Master of stealth
Genius-level intellect
Master strategist
1987 Shredder
Shredder in in each incarnation can beat tmnt together ,Shredder is a considerably skilled martial artist, outfighting the Turtles on occasion. He is equal in skill to their master, Splinter, Shredder is extremely intelligent, particularly with technology since he created Krang’s body,
In his early appearances, Shredder was presented as extremely cunning and was described by Splinter himself as the most dangerous adversary he ever faced. Shredder's intelligence persevered throughout his various portrayals, and in several instances it is claimed that Shredder has an IQ of 300. As the 1987 cartoon series was more light-hearted than the comics, Shredder was later depicted as an evil but incompetent villain rather than the dire and lethal ninja he was originally shown to be. He and Krang are constantly bickering about tactics and often take pleasure in the other's failings (and sometimes intentionally sabotage each other). His two henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady are especially incompetent and fail miserably at everything they do. They were mostly used for comic relief in the show; however, the Turtles certainly consider them to be formidable (despite their inane stupidity) in combat due to their great strength and endurance, and as such, often use their intelligence to outwit them.
Despite Shredder's failings, he is still shown to have considerable skills. In martial arts, he is often shown to surpass the Turtles and to be equaled only by Splinter. Nevertheless, he usually runs away from a fight when outnumbered, incapacitating the Turtles to defeat them in combat; as the series progressed, however, the Turtles were able to battle him on more equal grounds and even defeat him in combat on several occasions. He trained the Punk Frogs in a very short period of time to be a match for the Turtles, but the Punk Frogs soon switch sides. His technical skills are also quite impressive: he designed and built a robotic body for Krang, prepared the mutagen mixture, knew how Krang's teleportation engine worked, and built numerous other advanced devices. Ironically in one episode "Shredderville" the Turtles dream they find themselves in a mirror universe where the TMNT never existed and Shredder rules New York City, yet finds the task of ruling so burdensome that he has a nervous breakdown.
From season eight onwards, Shredder was depicted as a more serious threat, full of anger and bloodlust, though he was still easily defeated by the Turtles. His friendship with Krang also appeared to have grown. There were many times that Shredder could have just left Krang at the mercy of the Turtles or Lord Dregg, but he always rescued him, and went as far as to donate his life energy to save him.

It was during this arc that the "Red Sky" seasons would begin and Shredder would commit one of his most memorable acts. During this time, his goofiness had vanished and he was full of anger and bloodlust to kill the Turtles.
Shredder would commit one of his most memorable acts

CONAN WILL GIVE HELL IN FIGHT AGAINST SHREDDER AND run for money
@comicstooge: Great match, actually unsure about this one.

Cheers
Nice match-up and nice background post.
Conan is bigger and stronger than Shredder. Shredder has superior training with his ninja skills, however the Conan stories are all about savage instinct trumping civilized skills. Robert E. Howard would have given the fight to Conan on that alone, though we can't just go on one creator's opinion. Experience is tricky to figure too; Shredder can draw on past life experiences, but Conan's entire life is a fight to survive. Arguably, Conan's experience makes up in quality for the greater quantity of Shredder's experience.
My guess on what this says about their fighting skills: Conan can steamroll "civilized" fighters who have trained in swordplay or martial arts--in fact, their training will work against them by making them less spontaneous--however Shredder is much more than most such opponents. Shredder can make fools out of powerful and savage warriors with his superior move set, but Conan is no ordinary barbarian. When it comes to experience and skill, I'd judge these guys close to even. Shredder has the edge in subtle technique but Conan's sheer ferocity and unpredictability makes him amazingly dangerous.
Weapons are about even. Shedder has armor, but I don't think that's going to help him much against someone who hits with Conan's power and accuracy.
I think this is a close match. I'm going to give Conan the edge and say he wins six or possibly seven times out of ten. Tough fight though, and the winner isn't walking away without some nasty wounds.
@matthew1061: Shredder will win he is smarter ,, outfighting the Turtles on occasion. He is equal in skill to their master, Splinter, Shredder is extremely intelligent, particularly with technology since he created Krang’s body.
i will use 87 Shredder and his best .

@stormshadow_x: @morningstar999:
Which version of Conan? Dark horse or marvel? Either way Conan has the strength, speed, durability and skill advantage. Conan's faced people who are tougher and more skilled than any character in the TMNT lore such as black panther, wolverine etc. Not to mention that Conan stomped a dinosaur casually
@angelica10: Crossover are non-canon.Shredder fight with Batman in Crossover, not mention that Utrom Shredder Survived an implosion/explosion that destroyed an entire building and left nothing but a crater and even survived being electrocuted
@angelica10: Which is non canon to the version being used here
@angelica10: Even if Conan literally fought and stalemated black panther,Utrom Shredder Survived an implosion/explosion that destroyed an entire building and left nothing but a crater. Conan have nothing in his arsenal to put down Utrom Shredder down ,not mention that Utrom Shredder has powerful magical Sword of Tengu he can to destroy Conan with sword easy.
@stormshadow_x: Bit confused why 200e shredder is being brought up

Op said Idw Shredder, but many Users have used other incranation from Shredder including me
@morningstar999: @powerfulavenger: @megatron12: This is only IDW Shredder and Dark Horse Conan. Still even though I say Conan wins but it’s a tough one.
*I accidentally deleted my comment just to let you guys know*
@powerfulavenger: Conan takes it you clearly haven’t read all of his stories and he had a crossover with Wonder Woman and defeated her in combat and she has better combat experience than Shredder.
