Palpatine is not interfering, which factions would win in a legit battle (All CIS commanders stop being incompetent) General Grievous is now consistently acting like the brilliant commander he is (Like when commanding BX-Droids and Demolition Droids for infiltration, ect)

Scenario 1) Disney Canon ONLY

Scenario 2) Legends Canon

CIS would win of course, they had so many chances, and so many potential mass destruction weapons (from blue shadow virus, to dark reaper, to all kinds of experiments and weapons we saw either in tv shows or comics) that would've dry the Republic clean in a matter of days, but there were always either Jedi interfering, or plot shield. Not to mention that, now that there's no Palpatine interfering, there's none to stop all those banks and companies to whom Republic owes big from making a rebellion or putting sanctions and additional taxation over the Republics already dry well.

I've always thought that a competent CIS would win the ground war at least. Battle droids have just about every advantage over clones logistically speaking. They're cheaper, can be made must faster, don't need food, water or oxygen, generally don't have a mutiny problem, and generally don't suffer from PTSD. It's just that the B1s are also incredibly stupid. If they'd stick to exclusively making B2s or droidekas (which by all accounts should still be cheaper than clones), they'd still have a massive numerical advantage except now without the incompetence problem.

@mk39: Problem is that the B1's also cover many roles too that the B2's can't

Mostly manual labor and Co-Pilot'ing their massive fleets, also take into consideration that B1's are much lighter so you can store more in one area than B2's.

Drodika's both in Disney and Legend's are also INCREDIBLY expensive, like in Disney one of their massive ships only carried a maximum of 12 compared to the thousand B1's.

@team_sigma: Dude, 180 of the jedi had died on the first battle of Geonosis alone. Jedi took heavy casualties during the war, and i can bet that more than a thousand of them have died by the CISs hand alone. Droids were even, many times so close in killing some of the best of the jedi the order has to offer, such as Obi-Wan and Anakin. How they, with their incredibly massive numbers, cannot defeat the Jedi ? Remember what Dooku said, ''Our droid armies outnumber the Republic clones a 100 to 1''. And given that there were 5.000.000 of clones by the end of the war, there, calculate the size of the droid army. AND THAT IS ONLY SPEAKING ABOUT THE INFANTRY, what about the armored vehicles and the fleet ? Calculate the numbers of one of the largest armies the galaxy has ever seen.

@thegovernor67: Thing is that's ground combat which IMO real battle is in space, Jedi Master's would be used as uber commander's and precog would change the tide in space battles

CIS could win ground but with Jedi the Republic can win space and just nuke the droid factories over and over until the CIS economy collapses.

@team_sigma: Dude, for your information that war already happened, and we already saw that scenario. And even though Republic has won the majority of the space battles, they never could achieve what you're saying right now...

@team_sigma: So the B1s have more dexterity true, and are better suited to manual labor jobs, but it still seems like pouring them onto battlefields by the quadrillions is a huge waste when there are other droids better suited to the task. B2s and droidekas are expensive sure, but they can't be more expensive than clones can they? Imagine how expensive the cloning facilities must be in comparison to a basic droid factory.

@thegovernor67: Unless I'm mistaken, the droids actually outnumber the clones by much more than 100 to 1.

@mk39: What you are saying about the B1s is true, but remember that the Republic controls the significantly larger part of the galaxy, and thus their income is larger, and economy more fluent.

@thegovernor67: Ah, didn't know that. But doesn't the CIS represent just about every major banking/trading/technology/manufacturing firm in the galaxy?

Why not?

As long as they continued the space battle they would have won eventually since the Republic had better ships and eventually the Jedi would find a way to outmaneuver the CIS and destroy their ship yards.

I don't know if its said in Disney canon but I know its mentioned in legends that the CIS B1's are better to recyle so that's why they are spammed because they could recycle the remains easier (After winning a battle) than other droids because of less expensive components so they save more instead of just spamming B2's which probably have more electronics and more expensive materials.

@mk39:

This is the galaxy map at the very beginning of The Clone Wars, Republic owns nearly 80% of the space, and all of the Core worlds, and yet heroic CIS was able to oppose them for 3 years and would've and even longer if it weren't for Palpatine, perhaps even win.

No Caption Provided

@team_sigma If you are forgeting, even with all of their advantages Republic never found a way to breach deep into the Separatist space, nor take any of their key planets, except on Geonosis. And they were able to reachGeonosis only because it was very far from the Separatist space, at the very edge of the known and explored galaxy. While CIS was the one that attacked Coruscant in the very CORE of the galaxy, the very HEARTH OF THE REPUBLIC twice (sabotaged it actually once) and attacked Kamino three times. So if anyone is capable of attacking the significant enemy positions deep into enemy space and behind the enemy lines, that is CIS, as proven in the past.

The Republic should win from a narrative standpoint, tbh.

Since the CIS's leadership is supposed to be competent here, it means they're not suffering from their usual...CIS.

Anyways, Dooku might have insider knowledge, even without Sidious's interference. Also, would other factions affected by the war still be present? If so, Talzin and Maul might remove the CIS's leadership in the form of Dooku and Grievous.

The Force-user advantage is also in the Republic's favor.
