Jellal Fernandes - The Sinner

Some music for reading

Biography

Jellal Fernandes (ジェラール・フェルナンデス Jerāru Ferunandesu) is a childhood friend of Erza Scarlet. Before he lost his own memory, he was a Dark Mage who desperately sought to revive Zeref via the R-System.[4] Jellal currently serves as a member and co-founder of Crime Sorcière.[5]

Some Key Terms

Before I start talking about feats, I would like to first establish some key terms from the world of Fairy Tail.

Ethernano - Ethernano is a substance that is present within all living things, as well as the atmosphere, in Fairy Tail and is the source of magic power in all mages. (Think of it as like Ki or Chakra, the more of it you have, the more magic/power you will have)

Magic - The main form of combat in Fairy Tail. All mages are able to use this power for offence, defense, support and healing

Magic power - In order to use their magic, a mage must first tap into the Magic Power within their body, which is composed of Ethernano

Strength/Durability

While Jellal isn’t exactly a purely physical based fighter, he’s certainly no slouch in this department at all. First, let’s take a look at some feats from other characters, such as Natsu. Phantom Lord arc Natsu was able to fight evenly with Gajeel, whose Steel scales are able to shatter Natsu’s arm with ease. Gajeel’s scales are said to boost his attack power by several times. After powering up, Natsu was able to clash evenly with Gajeel, which in turn caused a shockwave so big it basically covered the room they were in, shattering the ground they were standing on and sending bystanders flying. During the ToH arc, Jellal basically no sold attacks from a stronger Natsu and proceeded to absolutely fodderize him with his own strength

Once Natsu got a huge power boost from eating the Etherion, allowing him to enter Dragon Force, he was basically able to turn the tides of the battle in his favour, his punch was able to destroy a massive portion of the Tower of Heaven. Keep in mind, that Natsu did this while fatigued and injured, so if he was healthy, he probably would have been capable of much more.

And for reference, this is how big the tower actually is

No Caption Provided

So I’d say it’s safe to say that the force behind Natsu’s punch should carry Multi City Block levels of force behind it. Jellal, despite taking this punch head on, was still able to recover and kick Natsu away, and fly up to cast another spell before his injuries from Erza caught up to him. Furthermore, during the fight against Zero in the Oracion Seis arc, Jellal, while weakened, gave up all of his MP to Natsu, which in turn allowed him to enter DF once more, this version of Natsu should scale to, if not above the DF Natsu that Jellal himself fought several arcs ago.

Jellal should also scale above characters such as Kagura, who was able to slice through multiple city blocks with the residue air pressure from her slash. This is impressive, as Erza parried this slash meaning the direct potency of it should scale above the shockwaves produced, which should make the AP behind it city level.

Additionally, during the Alvarez arc, Jellal was able to push back and somewhat damage a Dragon form Acnologia, which is very impressive, as Acnologia during the Tartaros arc was able to no sell Igneel’s roar which should be multi-mountain level in terms of range, the same Acnologia was able to fodderize Gildarts, who himself is capable of destroying Large hill- Small mountain sized structures quite casually.

So with all of this in mind, I think it’s safe to say that Jellal should be somewhere in the Mountain - Large Mountain level range of AP in terms of pure physical strength

Speed

Jellal is definitely one of the more impressive mages we’ve seen in the series in terms of speed. For instance, he should scale above the likes of PL arc Gajeel and Natsu. Gajeel, while heavily injured from being beaten up by Laxus, was able to intercept lightning that was aimed for Levy, even though she wasn’t even 30 feet away from Laxus.

Natsu himself was able to dodge this lightning at point blank. Laxus’ lightning should be around the same speed as actual lightning, as he is able to summon lightning from the sky, his lightning is also able to be attracted by lightning rods. For reference as to how fast his lightning actually is, he was able to call upon lightning that hit the ground before a bullet from Wahl could move a meter, and the average bullet moves around 5 meters in less than a second (around 0.07 seconds to be exact), meaning that Laxus would have had to summon enough lightning within that timeframe to vaporize all of Wahl’s bullets before they could even reach him. Regular cloud to ground lightning takes around 0.021 seconds to cover the same distance, meaning that Laxus’ lightning should be around 3 times faster than a bullet. Considering low level clouds manifest around 2 km above ground level and the fact that Laxus’ lightning was able to cover this distance in a very short timeframe, should get his lighting to around Mach 900(Credits to HitTheAssassin for this calc). And since Natsu was able to react to this lightning at point blank, it should get him to around the quad digit mach range, and since Jellal was able to blitz this same Natsu, it should get him around that level of speed as well. I am aware that the BoFT arc takes place after the ToH arc, but the gap between these arcs is quite small, so the Natsu in both arcs should still be relative to each other.

Another thing I would like to mention, is that Jellal was able to not only keep up with, but even blitz Racer, someone who can alter his opponent’s perception of time, making himself look faster in their eyes.

So with all of this in mind, I believe that Jellal should be within the MHS range of speed, which should be more than enough to keep up with the Pains in a fight. Not to mention Jellal is able to use the spell Meteor to further enhance his speed, which I will talk about in the next section.

Magic

Heavenly Body Magic

This is Jellal’s main magic which he uses throughout most of the series allowing him to cast magic that is based on astronomical objects

Meteor

Meteor is a spell that allows the user to enhance their speed, allowing them to assault their opponent with quick and powerful attacks. In addition, this spell grants the user access to flight. During the Grand Magic Games, Jellal went from being equal to, if not slightly inferior to Jura in terms of speed, to being able to blitz him once he started using this spell. Jellal also uses this spell to go FTE to Natsu, blitzing him in the process

Grand Chariot

This is probably Jellal’s most used spell in the series. The user places both hands on top of each other and summons seven magic seals in front of themself, which then connect to form a constellation, releasing powerful beams of light from each seal, hitting the opponent in the process, in addition, once the beams hit the ground, they form the same constellation pattern on the ground before exploding. Jellal was able to use this spell to destroy Jura’s defences without much trouble, one shotted Neinhart as well as multiple ships full of soldiers, and one shotted a God Seed of Aldoron, Gears. What's impressive, is that each God Seed contains a portion of Aldoron's power, and Aldoron himself is able to crush landmass that is several times greater than his own size. This spell should be quite handy when dealing with multiple opponents such as the Six Paths of Pain

Altaris

The user creates a small black orb that draws in nearby shadows, increasing the size of the orb, which is said to be incredibly dense and holds a tremendous amount of gravity, acting quite similar to a black hole due to being able to pull on the surroundings, people and light.

Pleiades

Jellal is able to call upon six rays of light from the sky to attack his target consecutively. This spell is quite good for putting pressure on an opponent, as shown in the fight with Acnologia

Jiu Leixing

User creates nine swords made of light behind them which can be used to strike their opponent at once. This attack was able to briefly knock back Acnologia, which is quite impressive as Acnologia was able to pretty much no sell attacks from the Seven Dragon Slayers during their final battle

Abyss Break

As Jellal has mastered the four elements of Fire, Wind, Water and Earth, he is able to use the powerful spell of Abyss Break which is something that not even the entire Phantom Lord guild could achieve together. While we’ve never actually seen what this spell actually is, it is said to be a dark blast when released, and Erza states that this spell has the power to destroy the rest of the Tower of Heaven. Once released, Loke states that the blast of the attack would be able to extend from the FT guild to Kardia Cathedral, which should be around Large town level - Small city level

Sema

This is quite possibly Jellal’s most powerful spell yet. By pointing his hands downwards and pointing his right hand upwards, Jellal is able to form a cyclone from the clouds above, eventually summoning a meteor, which upon impact, is able to create an explosion that covers a wide area and leaves a massive crater. This attack pretty much one shotted the Oracion Seis once Jellal used it on them. In terms of size, this attack is comparable to a casual blast from post timeskip Laxus, which is able to dwarf large hills - small mountains, meaning it should be around Mountain level+.

Darkness Magic

Upon his possession at the hands of Ultear, Jellal was able to use Darkness Magic, which, while not as strong as his Heavenly Body Magic, can come in handy in this fight.

Dark Vanish

Jellal is able to make his target implode from the inside out leaving nothing behind except for their clothing. I believe that this spell would be useful when dealing with the energy absorption ability that one of the Paths has.

No Caption Provided

Darkness Cage

Jellal is able to create a sphere of Dark Magic which shoots out several ghost like entities at the target, being able to restrain them

Paradise of sins

The User creates a black orb which when released, creates several tentacles that are shot at the target, these tentacles are also quite heavy as when Erza cut them up, they crushed the ground they fell on.

No Caption Provided

Bind Snake

User places a red snake tattoo on their target, which extends its way around the target’s body, immobilizing them. This should be a useful ability when fighting the Paths of Pain, as Jellal could probably catch some of them off guard and immobilize them with this ability

Mystogan's Spells

Prior to the Grand Magic Games, Jellal, while under the disguise of Mystogan, took it upon himself to learn the magic that his counterpart used.

Matenro

By planting five magic staves into the ground, the user creates an illusion where their target is propelled several hundred meters into the air, the target is then tied up and summoning a demon-like entity that supposedly attacks them. This illusion is quite useful for immobilizing an opponent while preparing to launch another attack

Sacred Song

The user creates five magic circles above their target’s head, which then release one concentrated beam of magic power that damages them.

Mirror Water

The user performs hand signs and summons 3 magic circles which can be used to reflect attacks. This ability could be used to reflect ranged attacks from the Ashura Path.

No Caption Provided

Other Spells

Self Destruction Square

The user is able to place a complex self destruction sequence on any subject, be it a person or an object. Jellal was going to use this both on Nirvana and himself. It is stated that those who do not know the cancellation code for this spell cannot dispel it.

Hexagonal Barrier

Jellal is able to create a decently sized barrier to fit in at least two people, as shown when he shielded both himself and Erza from an attack from Acnologia. What’s impressive here, is that this attack should be greater than the attack Acnologia used to one shot God Serena, someone comparable to Gildarts, who in turn possesses Mountain+ level physicals.

No Caption Provided

Thought Projection

Jellal is able to create a psychic body of himself using this spell, which can work over great distances and can even physically interact with other people. Gears’ magic is based on illusions and is able to amplify feelings of guilt, even making his opponents feel like they’re using magic even if they’re not. This spell is also capable of placing their thoughts in a time distorted world while the real world flows normally. Jellal was able to create a thought projection and essentially transfer Gear’s magic onto it, freeing him from these illusions. I believe that this spell would be very useful when dealing with the likes of Genjutsu

Strategy

  • Jellal should be fast enough to avoid attacks from the Paths, and possibly even blitz them with the use of Meteor
  • Ranged attacks from the Asura path can either be dodged or reflected using Mirror Water
  • I don't see the Human Path doing much here as his ability only works by touching his opponent's head, which would never happen as Jellal is far stronger than it in terms of pure strength and he should be faster
  • The Animal Path's summons can either be restrained via snake bind, destroyed via Self Destruction Square or placed under illusions. Once Jellal figures out it can summon multiple creatures at a time, I believe he would focus on taking it out first
  • The Preta Path can be overloaded by Jellal continously feeding him large amounts of magic or imploded with the use of Dark Vanish
  • The Deva Path might just be the biggest threat here, as it has probably the most impressive stats, but I believe Jellal should be able to avoid Universal Pull via Meteor, and eventually exploit Almighty Push's time limit by spamming attacks such as Pleiades, GC or Jiu Leixing
  • Once Jellal figures out all the paths are linked, he would attack all of them at once with Grand Chariot, causing great damage to all of them as well as temporarily blinding them, with this opportunity, Jellal would be able to cast Sema, which would be able to one shot all of them without much trouble.

And that's my opener done, best of luck to my opponent!

"The God of Amegakure" Pain/Nagato Uzumaki

“I Want You To Feel Pain, To Think About Pain, To Accept Pain, To Know Pain.”
“I Want You To Feel Pain, To Think About Pain, To Accept Pain, To Know Pain.”

Background

Nagato (長門, Nagato) was an Amegakure shinobi who was a descendant of the Uzumaki clan. Nagato dreamed of bringing peace to the warring shinobi world by forming Akatsuki with his companions (and fellow war orphans) Yahiko and Konan. Following Yahiko's death, Nagato assumed the moniker Pain (ペイン, Pein) and, along with Konan, began commanding a new Akatsuki - one that would use all means necessary to drive the world into peace.

================================================

Loading Video...

========================================================================

Setting up Baselines

Shared Vision

Before we start all of you need to realize that the Paths of Pain (The 6 Bodies/Corpses used in this match) are a bunch of corpses that cannot feel emotions like well "Pain", all 6 of the Paths have their own offensive, defensive, support use but they are at their greatest when working as one. Another thing I should point out is with their eyes (Rinnegan) they have a shared field of vision.

No Caption Provided

All six of them can see each other's vision, which allows for great potential for teamwork and strategies to form when dealing with an opponent.

Attack Potency

Another is their Attack Potency,

Jiraiya is by all intents and purposes at least a Mt level character, he has a Rasengan that can cleave through mountains and he should be stronger than most of the Akatsuki, an organization with members going toe to toe with Bijuu, all of which could level mountains.

No Caption Provided

Jiraiya on a stronger form called Sage Mode could also create holes this massive with a punch.

Scan 1: You can see Jiraiya kicking a Giant Summon with just physical might alone.

Scan 2: You can see Jiraiya traveling a seemingly massive pipe but in reality, those pipes are much much smaller than the hole Jiraiya created on the 1st scan.

You could argue this as a casual Hill-level feat done with just physicals alone.

This is important because one of the weaker Paths managed to tank a kick from this same Jiraiya.

Hell, Deva Path managed to deflect a Rasenshuriken that made a decent size explosion on a Island Size crater, which is arguably a Mt. level feat.

All Paths should at least be on the Mt level range in AP.

Speed

Well, speed scaling is pretty simple, Kakashi as a kid could literally react and cut lightning in half when he was much younger.

No Caption Provided

Pain not only managed to keep up with a much stronger and experience Kakashi but outright kill him as well with only the use of 2 Paths.

Considering how vastly superior Pain is to Kid Kakashi who performed a MHS feat by cutting lightning, Pain should atleast be on the higher-end of MHS+ solidly.

With some possible scaling to Sub-Rel I can bring up later when need be.

So with the info I've given, the Paths are around Mt lvl (with an Island lvl move I'll mention later) with MHS+ speed.

Deva Path

No Caption Provided

Undisputably the strongest of all the Paths of Pain would be the Deva Path, this Path can manipulate both attractive and repulsive forces.

Shinra Tensei

No Caption Provided

The user creates a repulsive force sending everything in Pain's vicinity away, Pain can narrow the repulsion's direction to prevent allies from getting affected by it, after every use of it the user has to wait 5 seconds before it can be used again.

It doesn't only repel physical attacks, but ninjutsu as well and in this CAV's case also Magic.

However, the largest scale use of this ability is when Pain managed to fly (yes he can fly) to the sky and demolished the entire Hidden leaf Village with one humungous Shinra Tensei.

No Caption Provided

Completely erasing several kilometers in an instant, an insane feat.

This comes at the cost where Deva Path has to wait a few minutes before regaining Shinra Tensei.

Bansho Tenin

The complete opposite of Shinra Tensei, allows Pain to attract anything in his vicinity towards himself.

No Caption Provided

Also has a 5 second cooldown after each use.

Chibaku Tensei

By far the Naruto verse's greatest feat at that point in time.

The user creates a black sphere onto their hands and hurls into the sky and attract the surroundings.

No Caption Provided

At the scan above you, it managed to create a crater wider than a Mountain range in which you can see the curvature of the Naruto world on the panel, an easy Island lvl feat, what's even greater is that Deva Path was planning to make it even larger.

This ability is mainly used to trap and incapacitate people inside the large sphere it forms in the sky.

Asura Path

No Caption Provided

The Asura Path (修羅道,Shuradō) grants the user the ability to augment their own body to summon mechanised armour and various ballistic and mechanical weaponry.

Asura Attack

The user can open parts of their body to reveal a cannon that fires a massive blast of chakra with explosive power strong enough to devastate an entire area.

Flaming Arrow Warhead

Using the body modification ability of the Asura Path, the user detaches their hand, revealing a cluster of missiles. The further the hand is removed from the arm, the more missiles can be fired at once. These can fired to create widespread damage, or as homing devices seeking a single target.

Animal Path

No Caption Provided

The Animal Path (畜生道, Chikushōdō) grants a Rinnegan user the ability of summoning various animals and creatures to aid it in battle.

These creatures appear to be immortal, as they were killed and later summoned again. Worthy of note, summoning creatures through the Animal Path require no blood sacrifice or hand seals. The Animal Path can also summon people using hand signs, such as the case of Nagato's other Paths and Konan. Tactics-wise, the Animal Path's primary role in battle appears to consist of overwhelming multiple opponents with a barrage of summons which involve a Crab, a Chameleon that can turn invisible, a Multi-headed Dog that can split it’s body, Bird, Ox, Centipede.

No Caption Provided

The most useful in particular however would be the Giant Multi-Headed Dog which can regenerate and regrow another head after being struck,

No Caption Provided

According to Nagato, the only way to remove this dog would be to kill it's user, it was later shown that even when it is hit with something like Amaterasu which causes black flames to appear and stay on a opponent's body until the user deactivates it the Giant Dog was only incapacitated and only disappeared after Nagato was later sealed/defeated.

Human Path

No Caption Provided

This Path can not only read the minds of any person it holds into but it can also yank souls away from someone's body.

No Caption Provided

Preta Path

No Caption Provided

An incredibly useful Path especially when Energies are Equalized.

This ability is primarily defensive in nature as it is capable of absorbing chakra (or in this CAV's case Magic) from an individual through physical contact. In addition to this, the Preta Path is able to absorb ninjutsu-based techniques that are pure chakra or chakra based, thereby nullifying their effect. This is done by forming a barrier around the user's entire body, allowing them to absorb attacks from all directions.

Naraka Path

No Caption Provided

It has two abilities.

Interrogation and Repairing.

Interrogation

To interrogate, the Naraka Path need only catch hold of a person, causing the King of Hell to appear before them. With the victim seemingly paralysed, the Naraka Path begins questioning them. After answers are given, the King of Hell will unzip its mouth to release tendril-like arms and would draw out an apparition of the victim's life force energy in the form of an enlarged tongue. The King of Hell would then proceed to pass its judgement. If the person was lying or refused to answer the questions, the King of Hell would remove their tongue and consume it, apparently killing them. However, if they told the truth, they would be spared, although left extremely exhausted.

Repairing

The second ability the Naraka Path possessed is the ability to repair any damage. To do so the Naraka Path has the King of Hell ingest the damaged body with its tendril-like arms into its mouth, then, after some time, the destroyed body will emerge from its mouth, completely rejuvenated. It did this for example to the Asura Path after it was destroyed by Chōjiand Chōza Akimichi. With its restorative abilities, the Naraka Path can easily be regarded as the most valuable body if the Six Paths of Pain is being used through six different bodies. During formation, Nagato puts the Naraka Path at the rear behind the sentimental Deva Path with the other four taking the front lines.

No Caption Provided

A few counters

As Acnologia during the Tartaros arc was able to no sell Igneel’s roar which should be multi-mountain level in terms of range, the same Acnologia was able to fodderize Gildarts

No Caption Provided

Definitely not Multi-Mountain, you can focus on the panel and clearly see that is is the size of only one mountain.

This is something that is even more obvious when you check the anime scene.

Laxus’ lightning should be around the same speed as actual lightning, as he is able to summon lightning from the sky.

Laxus lightning magic generates from an unknown location in the sky, it's not real cloud-to-ground, especially when he created them inside Cardia Cathedral.

his lightning is also able to be attracted by lightning rods.

There is also a statement by Mavis where you can dodge Magic Lightning within 2 seconds.

By planting five magic staves into the ground, the user creates an illusion where their target is propelled several hundred meters into the air, the target is then tied up and summoning a demon-like entity that supposedly attacks them. This illusion is quite useful for immobilizing an opponent while preparing to launch another attack

It seems to be an illusion that can only affect 1 person at a time, the other Paths who can see the illusion on whoever gets affected can simply just attack Jellal or cause the Path to break free from it since it is thought to most Genin how to atleast resist simple Genjutsu/Illusions.

The only time the Paths were ever put into Genjutsu was through the use of Sound.

Strategy

  • Pain is much faster than Base Jellal (without Meteor) and can just blitz.
  • Pain has enough versatility to compete.
  • You say Sema which you say is Mt lvl+ is Jellal's greatest ability? Well Pain's best move is Island lvl (CT)
  • The Paths who can see eachother's vision can strategize and help each other avoid attacks.
  • With Equalized Energy, Preta Path could just absorb most magic Jellal throws out.
  • The Animal Path could use the summons to distract Jellal leaving the other Paths for a sneak attack.
  • Human Path could ambush Jellal and reap his soul.
  • If one Path is down, Naraka Path could just simply restore it (it will take some time for Jellal to atleast know all of their abilities.

Thanks for Reading.

Jellal Fernandes - Counters

No Caption Provided

AP/Speed counters

Jiraiya is by all intents and purposes at least a Mt level character, he has a Rasengan that can cleave through mountains and he should be stronger than most of the Akatsuki, an organization with members going toe to toe with Bijuu, all of which could level mountains.

While I don't really have a problem with the mountain statement for Jiraiya, I'm not really too sure if you can scale all the Akatsuki members to Bijuu, since Pain, one of the strongest members, was struggling against an incomplete Kyuubi Naruto, who shouldn't scale to the full tailed beasts. And the tailed beasts we've seen get captured by the Akatsuki, were captured while their respective Jinchuriki weren't fully transformed.

Well, speed scaling is pretty simple, Kakashi as a kid could literally react and cut lightning in half when he was much younger.

An impressive feat, but it isn't stated if Kakashi was able to cut the bolt before it hits the ground or if he cut it after it hit the ground before dissapearing, we also don't know what speed, angle or position he even cut the lightning, how much he moved as well as the size of the lightning bolt he cut. Additionally, during Sasuke's fight with Itachi, Zetsu states that there is no dodging an attack hundreds of times faster than the speed of sound, strongly implying that it's common knowledge for lightning speed attacks to be undodgeable. I've always perceived Guy's statement as him hyping up the penetrative ability of the Chidori, not it's speed.

Counters for the Paths' abilities

The user creates a repulsive force sending everything in Pain's vicinity away, Pain can narrow the repulsion's direction to prevent allies from getting affected by it, after every use of it the user has to wait 5 seconds before it can be used again.

It doesn't only repel physical attacks, but ninjutsu as well and in this CAV's case also Magic.

A troublesome ability indeed, however, Jellal has been shown the ability to use spells within quite a shown timeframe, as shown in his encounter with Acnologia. Once he attacks the Deva path enough times, I have no doubt that he would be able to figure out that it has some sort of interval in between jutsu usage, which would in turn give Jellal an incentive to start spamming magic attacks. I'd say Jellal's barrier spell would also come in quite handy when avoiding ST.

This might be the biggest threat to Jellal in this fight, however, this attack seems to only be a last resort move, so I doubt Nagato would immediately use this Jutsu in character, and the version of CT he uses seems to only be used for restraining targets since IIRC, he has never been shown to literally hurl a CT meteor at someone before. This jutsu has a weakness and that is the black sphere in the sky used for forming it, and I believe that Jellal would have the common sense to target this black sphere and destroy it via Abyss break or Grand Chariot, effectively ending the Jutsu cast, which should not be a hard process considering the sphere pulls attacks in. But Jellal could still most likely avoid being trapped inside it using his spell, Meteor to enhance his speed and fly away from being pulled in, and then destroy the sphere regardless.

The user can open parts of their body to reveal a cannon that fires a massive blast of chakra with explosive power strong enough to devastate an entire area.

Using the body modification ability of the Asura Path, the user detaches their hand, revealing a cluster of missiles. The further the hand is removed from the arm, the more missiles can be fired at once. These can fired to create widespread damage, or as homing devices seeking a single target.

These attacks, while quite deadly, can be avoided, by using Meteor, and Jellal could also use the spell Mirror Water to deflect these ranged attacks, which should be quite an effective way of dealing with this Path. Once the attacks are deflected, Jellal can seize this opportunity to cast a spell such as GC and destroy it. Jellal could also use his Barrier spell to avoid taking lethal damage from these attacks.

These animals don't seem to have any ranged attacks, except for the Crab, but it's water ability doesn't seem to be very effective and can easily be avoided or reflected using Mirror Water, and as a result, Jellal could use Meteor, to not only keep his distance via flight capabilities, but also spam his magic in order to temporarily incap the summons while he targets the Animal Path itself. Jellal could also use Bind Snake or Darkness Cage to restrain some of the summons, then use another spell such as Abyss Break or GC to take it out.

This Path can not only read the minds of any person it holds into but it can also yank souls away from someone's body.

This Path honestly seems to be the weakest out of all the pains in terms of combat ability, so I highly doubt it would be able to use its soul stealing ability since Jellal would be constantly moving around the battlefield, so I'd say this Path would get blitzed and one shotted quite easily.

I do agree that this Path would be quite useful in this scenario, but once Jellal figures out that it has the ability to absorb his spells, he could simply switch to H2H combat, something he himself is no slouch in as shown in his battle against Natsu, in which case, I don't see this Path keeping up at all due to the significant boost in speed Jellal would get. Additionally, if Jellal decides to use Sema in this fight (which is in character of him to use against multiple opponents), I don't see this Path absorbing something like a literal meteor.

Similarly to the Human Path, this Path doesn't seem to be the most capable in terms of combat either, and as I stated before, Jellal would be moving around the battlefield quite constantly during this fight, so I doubt this interrogation ability would come into play at all.

Now this is an ability that would be quite troublesome, however, once Jellal figures out that this Path can revive the other Paths, I have no doubt that he would prioritize taking out this Path first. I believe that Jellal would use a spell such as GC, Pleiades or Jiu Leixing to temporarily throw off the other Paths, and seizing this opportunity, he would use Meteor to blitz the Naraka path, effectively destroying it for good.

And once Jellal has had enough and decides to use Sema, I really don't see any of the Paths surviving

Maintaining Advantages

Definitely not Multi-Mountain, you can focus on the panel and clearly see that is is the size of only one mountain.

This is something that is even more obvious when you check the anime scene.

No Caption Provided

You can see a couple of small mountains around the blast, but if you're still unconvinced due to the shady perspective shots, Igneel should still scale to or above the likes of Motherglare, who also has a Multi Mountain level feat. (The annotations are in Spanish so I do apologize, but the general idea is there)

No Caption Provided

Either way, this should still support my mountain level scaling for Jellal considering he was able to survive being crushed by Acnologia in his Dragon form, and Acnologia, as I've shown, scales significantly above mountain level characters such as the Dragons above and Gildarts

No Caption Provided

Laxus lightning magic generates from an unknown location in the sky, it's not real cloud-to-ground, especially when he created them inside Cardia Cathedral.

I disagree, since Laxus is shown to be able to travel as fast as an actual lightning bolt, when he suddenly appears in front of Team Natsu to confront Hades.

You do bring up quite a reasonable point with the whole lightning rod argument, however, I still believe that Laxus' lightning should move as fast as real lightning, considering he was able to summon enough lightning to destroy Wahl's bullets before they could cross a meter. The manga panel does cut off part of the sky, (In the anime, you can see some clouds in the background, so take that as you will) but there's no reason to believe that clouds weren't present, since if we do use the anime scene, the lightning Laxus summoned would still have been summoned from cloud height.

There is also a statement by Mavis where you can dodge Magic Lightning within 2 seconds.

Rufus summoned those beams of "Lightning" from his Memory Make magic, which isn't the same as Laxus' Lightning Dragon Slayer magic, so there's nothing suggesting it moves as fast as Laxus' lightning in the first place. Mavis's statement only refers to the time frame of Rufus' attack as well.

While this is true, this illusion spell isn't supposed to act as a guranteed win condition, I believe it would come in quite handy when dealing with the Paths, as Jellal could cast it on one of the Paths and prepare another spell to take it out, since even with the aid of the Rinnegan, it would take a bit for them to figure out they're in an illusion, considering Matenrou appears as your typical magical attack at first, unlike the sound Genjutsu the toads used.

Conclusion

  • You argue Pain as being within the MHS range of speed, I have shown Jellal operating within a similar level of speed, as he was able to keep up with Jura, Erza and Human Acnologia in base and with the aid of the spell Meteor, he should be able to outpace, if not blitz the paths of Pain due to this enhanced speed
  • You argue that Pain is only Island level with his strongest attack, and I believe that Jellal would be able to avoid being sealed by Chibaku Tensei by exploiting its weaknesses
  • The Preta Path can be dealt with either by H2H combat or being restrained using the bind snake
  • The Animal path's summons can be avoided by using Meteor's flight capabilities, leaving only the Asura Path and the Bird summon to be able to do anything in this scenario, in which case, the bird can be taken out by brute force or with a spell such as GC or Abyss break
  • After this, Jellal would be able to blitz the Animal path before it can summon another animal
  • The Human path has shown to be the least threatening in terms of combat ability, so taking it out first would be no big deal considering Jellal would be constantly moving around the battlefield so it wouldn't have a chance of doing anything
  • Once Jellal figures out the Naraka Path's abilities, he would prioritize taking it out first which should be no big deal, as again, I doubt any of the paths could react to a Meteor blitz
  • A Grand Chariot + Sema combo would be able to take out all of the Six Paths without much issue if Jellal does use it

Alright, that's my first set of counters done, best of luck to my opponent!

He Who Brings Peace Through Pain

No Caption Provided

====================================================

Extra: Deva Path

No Caption Provided

Shinra Tensei's Extra Abilities

In addition to what I've already said regarding Shinra Tensei, there are other abilities that could be useful in this match.

1) ST can also be an omnidirectional repulsive force that allows Deva Path to attack or repel things from every direction. A casual Shinra Tensei can reach the size of multiple city blocks in AoE and range.

No Caption Provided

Furthermore, with a common ST, Deva was able to level down a huge portion of the forest, defeating a Healthy Orochimaru

Kishimoto was involved in writing the OVA above which comes from the Ninja Storm Revolution Game.

(It offers little to no contradictions and even adds much-needed context missing in the manga.)

And a sick Orochimaru can no-sell the massive shockwave produced by the transformation of Naruto into KN4, that leveled down a huge portion of the forest here.

2)ST attack potency can also reach impressive levels. For example, Deva, with a single Shinra Tensei, managed to KO the Gama Trio (huge toads), pushing them several miles away from the immense crater that once was Konoha.

As you can see Gamaken was sent in a whole different region (canyon-like region) as well.

But the best thing comes from Bunta's statement. Shinra Tensei Deva smashed every bone in his body. This is factually impressive since Bunta was able to tank without much effort Shukaku's Freezing Air Bullet, stating that he cannot tank many of them.

Definition of "many" is: "a large number of persons or things" and I think we can safely say that this means Bunta can tank at least 3-10 Freezing Air Bullets. But the very best thing is that those Air Bullets are packed with an unbelievable amount of chakra.

And we know that the more chakra is pumped into a Jutsu, the better the result will be. The obvious example is a Bijuudama (sphere of chakra)-to-Massive Bijuudama.

The difference between a casual Bijuudama and a Massive Bijuudama, hence with much more chakra pumped into it is gigantic. Mountain to Multi-Mountain vs Small Country in terms of DC. And the Bijuu has an immense reserve of chakra.

In addition, Pain was aiming to create a forbidden Jutsu with the power to instantly destroy entire nations by using the 9 Bijuu's chakra.

I'm not saying that Shukaku's Freezing Air Bullets are comparable to a Bijuudama or strong enough to obliterate countries way bigger than the USA. But considering the immense reserve of chakra each and every Bijuu have and Gamabunta's statement about their amount of chakra...we can say those things have a pretty big AP. Definitely way above KN4 Naruto who managed to erase 3 Rashomon:

No Caption Provided

Pain's ST > Shukaku's Freezing Air Bullets.

3)Final Shinra Tensei. Which is the strongest ST ever made by Deva; it completely obliterated Konoha, leaving just a huge and deep crater.

The crater was so big that only half of it completely dwarfed the entirety of the Hokage Mountain.

In order to understand properly how deep that crater was, hence the real power of Deva's Final Shinra Tensei, we have to look at several things: the height of the Konoha Walls + the size of KN6 Naruto's Bijuudama:

  • Height of Konoha's walls.

It's fair to assume that Konoha's walls are 100m at the very minimum.

And here you can see the size of the Bijuudama explosion created by KN6 Naruto:

No Caption Provided

The height of that explosion is at least 10x the height of Konoha walls; in other words...around 1,000m.

Credits to @westwood_trevor's informative blog, https://comicvine.gamespot.com/profile/westwood_trevor/blog/the-true-power-of-bijuudama-and-juubidama-aoe-dc-a/152753/

Considering:

- AoE of the crater left by the ST

- AoE of the Bijuudama

- Height of the Bijuudama

Deva Path's Final ST would be solid Island lvl.

Bansho Tenin

There is not much to add here, besides with it Deva can also tear away and lift even huge boulders (of several hundreds of tons) and use them as a weapon.

No Caption Provided

Chibaku Tensei

There's nothing much to add here besides some small additions...

1) The gravitational force of the Chibaku is strong enough to literally lift and tear apart mountains.

2) The crater left by the gravitational force is at least two times deep than the height of a mountain (I'll take the average 1,000 meters height) as far as we can see:

No Caption Provided

3) Not even multiple KN6 Naruto's Bijuudama could destroy it, energetic attacks that vape entire mountains. Keep in mind that the planetoid wasn't complete yet.

4) The gravitational force was so strong that KN6 Naruto couldn't do anything to physically withstand it, forcing him to go into KN8. A reminder that KN4 Naruto made a massive shockwave with a simple swing of his hand.

Thanks to the Canon Novel "Sakura Hiden" we know how much a Jinchuuriki gets his stats boosted tail after tail.

In the Canon Sakura Hiden Novel (part of the New Era Project, set between chapters 699 and 700), The main villain Kido transforms into a V2 Tailed Beast Cloak, once this happens we learn he becomes orders of magnitude stronger and faster, specifically SEVERAL orders of magnitude, Tailed Beast Chakra has always effected speed as well and his Jutsu's speed was amped, etc. Several means more than 2 and orders of magnitude are multiples of 10 (as in 10x10x10x10 etc.)

Chibaku Tensei is Island+ (added "+" since Deva was about to enlarge it even more to an unknown degree) lvl that crushes downDeva's opponents under millions of tons of mountains, solid ground, etc.

For the record...the weight of an average mountain is in the billions of pounds = more than 500,000 tons

Barrier/Forcefield

In addition to his 3 main abilities, Deva is also able to create a constant barrier. The Barrier was strong enough to block a tornado created by KN4 Naruto (remember what kind of force a casual swing of his hand can do) and a barrage of KN6 beams.

No Caption Provided

Extra: Human Path

No Caption Provided

Although at first look this Path may look unimportant but compared to the others...he's one of the most dangerous, and not just because of his Soul Stealing and Mind Reading ability.

By placing his hand on the target's head Human Path forces his victim into a comatose status, where he/she cannot move nor do any other action, like an empty shell. Of course, this means the victim will be completely exposed to any single attack.

The Human Path's strength resides in strategy and surprise attacks, as shown when he used a ninja bomb to create confusion and take Shizune's life. "Divide and Conquer".

In a situation like this battle, a 1 vs 6+ (including the animals), where the Pains have perfect teamwork, hugely better speed feats, and reactions, and shared vision, Human Path is going to be the worst possible opponent for Jellal, especially cuz the Wizard has zero knowledge about the Paths nor preparation...and no way to counter Human Path ability.

Getting tagged by him means death, in a way or another. Literally 1-touch-1-kill.

Extra: Preta Path

No Caption Provided

Absorption Versatility

There are some other things to add about Preta Path, the Acnologia-like enemy Jellal will have to face, cuz of his ability to absorb and nullify every Jutsu (either energy, elemental, and solid types) in the blink of an eye.

The Range: Preta Path can absorb Jutsu either via direct touch or via a barrier, which fully covers his whole body for a 360° protection/absorption and nullification.

The Speed and Size: as shown during SM Jiraiya's battle Preta absorbed a huge tidal wave of boiling oil (Sage Art, hence Natural Energy aswell) in a blink of an eye, so fast that Jiraiya, Shima, and Fukasaku didn't understand what really happened.

No Caption Provided

The Quantity: Preta's absorption ability doesn't seem to have any limits in both quantity and type of Jutsu, since he absorbed Sage Arts and every other type of Ninjutsu, including Elemental Type, Solid Type, and Energy Type. He absorbed every Jutsu the Konoha Shinobi threw at him and later on SM Naruto's ones.

Physical Absorption: Preta can also directly suck away all the energies of his opponent by touching them...and nope, Jellal cannot "overload" Preta and defeat him in this way. I'll explain this later.

Extra: Asura Path

No Caption Provided

Besides his arm-missiles and the head laser beam which is capable enough to obliterate multiple-city blocks, Asura Path has other tricks up his sleeve.

1) Can multiplicate his arms and create a huge saw blade-like tail. Those arms can also extend to further restrict the movements of his opponent, like what Nagato did to Killer Bee.

2) Can shoot body parts like they are missiles, furthermore, Nagato has shown to also create some kind of cannon.

3) Was strong enough to easily destroy SM Jiraiya's arm with one blow, even if SM massively boosts physical durability, the same Jiraiya who previously yeeted away a huge Rinne Ox. And even if his body is severely destroyed Asura can still create and use weapons.

4) Of course thanks to this fully mechanical body Asura Path would be completely unaffected by any type of mind manipulation or illusion since he has no brain etc.

Extra: Animal Path

No Caption Provided

Kuchiyose: The Power of Size and Numbers

No Caption Provided

Giant Chimera: I already mentioned the endurance of Chimera in my 1st post. It's one of the most dangerous Animal Path's Evocations thanks to its ability to keep growing in number every time it takes damage, making Chimera extremely hard to put down permanently. As stated by Nagato the only way to put down Chimera is defeating the Summoner. The beast tanked several types of attacks: electrocution, physical attacks, severing his limbs, and even KCM Naruto Jutsu's. Everything was useless. Even trying to incap it by turning it into a mud statue or block it under a gigantic dome was useless. In addition, Chimera can just split himself into single monsters in order to attack from multiple directions. It's also strong enough to keep up and overpower Gamaken (that should not be inferior to Gamabunta), creating massive explosions during their fight.

Giant Drill-Beaked Bird: another one of the more dangerous Animal Path Summon This bird grants Pain the flying advantage, alongside spammable explosive eggs and a strong piercing attack that easily overpowered Gamaken's shield defense.
The bird can also reach an incredible speed while flying; generating electrostatic shockwaves that can level entire city blocks. Basically what Rodan did in "Godzilla: King of the Monsters".

Giant Chameleon: probably the most useful Summon in Animal Path's arsenal. This beast allows Pain mobility and complete invisibility, allowing him/them to spam attacks (example: Nagato used Shinra Tensei while invisible) or else without being noticed, unless someone has precog abilities. It can also use its snake-tail to block the movements of its victims.

Giant Panda: The giant panda had the ability to harden its body, creating a defensive barricade for its summoner.

The Other Giant Rinne-Beasts (Rhino, Ox, Centipede, Lobster): while the other Evocations are not as versatile as the 3 above, these beasts can still provide damage and good distractions. They can also easily destroy solid multi-story buildings.
The Rhino was also shown breaking out from Ibiki Morino's Iron Maiden, which trapped it inside a huge Maneki Neko statue and sent it deep underground.

Kuchiyose on someone's body ---Animal Path can also summon his beasts by placing the Summoning Mark on someone's body, letting them agonize and die since the summoned beast will bust out of the body. Ibiki Morino managed to survive just thanks to a Katsuyu clone who immediately healed and regenerated him.

Basic Shinobi Skills and Nagato's Stamina

Meanwhile, the Six Paths are packed with a wide range of versatile abilities, we have to remember that every common Shinobi has also some important and effective tricks.

Kawarimi No Jutsu: The instant before they are to be struck by an attack, the user replaces themselves with an object or something else. Because the attack does hit something, opponents may briefly believe that they've successfully struck the user. If users are fast enough, they can use this brief lapse in the opponent's attention to stage a counterattack; alternatively, this is a good opportunity for users to escape. This Jutsu is extremely important since even the most skilled characters fell to it.

Bunshin No Jutsu: is considered the most basic of Ninjutsu, these techniques are highly versatile, often used to distract enemies or fool them into thinking they have landed a hit on the user. Corporeal clones can aid the user in physical combat, and even use techniques independent of the original.

No Caption Provided

Nagato's Amount of Chakra

In terms of stamina, Nagato has a huge reserve of chakra. This is thanks to his Uzumaki bloodline.

When Nagato was just a cripple he could effortlessly control the Six Paths of Pain at the same time and from different locations for hours (Konoha Invasion), while also maintaining the Rainmaker Jutsu on the whole Amagakure (Rain Village) and its surroundings located thousands of kilometers far from Konoha.

Rainmaker Jutsu

Thunderbolts and rainfall from storm clouds, formed with Pain's own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to Pain's senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone, not of the village, the existence of the intruder can be detected.

Pain always applies this Jutsu when he leaves the Rain Village, maintaining watch over Amagakure.

Although Rainmaker Jutsu is not important for this battle it shows how much Stamina the Six Paths (cripple Nagato) have, dwarfing Jellal' Stamina in terms of feats and endurance.

Black Receivers

Black Receivers are formed out of chakra, which takes on a consistency similar to metal. The Six Paths can all create Black Receivers.

By stabbing an opponent with the rods, the user can transmit their chakra into the target's body, disrupting their own chakra, causing confusion, and throwing off their movements.

With these weapons even an almost dead Animal Path was able to pierce Jiraiya's body, whose durability was also greatly boosted by Sage Mode, causing him mental confusion and pain as well.

Why do I think the Black Receivers will be effective against Jellal? Based on how characters that should be comparable if not stronger than him failed to handle these kinds of piercing attacks, especially if caught off guard.

Yes, I'm quite sure the Black Receivers will damage Jellal.

Cementing Pain's Speed Advantage + Durability

I've always perceived Guy's statement as him hyping up the penetrative ability of the Chidori, not it's speed.

Indeed Raikiri was also praised for its penetrative ability, however, the Jutsu cannot be mastered without massively boosting the speed of the user, as stated by Maito Gai (Kakashi's Rival since their young age).

No Caption Provided

but it isn't stated if Kakashi was able to cut the bolt before it hits the ground or if he cut it after it hit the ground before disappearing

We can actually see a Young Kakashi reacting and using Raikiri against a cloud-to-ground lightning bolt right when it was falling down:

No Caption Provided

This feat is also impressive because it was performed when Kakashi had almost no chakra left, which means his stats were way below his normal conditions.

Of course, Adult Kakashi is a way more skilled Shinobi, praised and feared by many as the "Copy Ninja" than his younger counterpart that tagged and split that lightning bolt with almost no chakra.

And during the Konoha Invasion arc, both Asura Path and Deva Path managed to easily dodge point-blank Raikiri and other Kakashi's Lightning Jutsu multiple times. An injured Asura was also able to intercept a point-blank Raikiri as well.

It should also be noted that Kakashi was using the 3 Tomoe Sharingan, which grants him precog.

=====================================================================================

Besides the Databook stating Kakashi has been able to intercept and cut a lightning bolt, there's also the feat when Kakashi intercepted and countered Kakuzu's False Darkness (that was a few meters from Shikamaru and Choji) with his own Double-Raikiri. Furthermore, Shikamaru was able to react against it by pulling out a scroll of some kind. Probably a Jutsu to counter the lightning bolts I guess.

Although the Jutsu is debatable the official Databook calls it "lightning bolts" also telling us that dodging a lightning bolt is exceedingly difficult to dodge. Further confirms that its speed is comparable to a real lightning bolt.

Additionally, during Sasuke's fight with Itachi, Zetsustates that there is no dodging an attack hundreds of times faster than the speed of sound, strongly implying that it's common knowledge for lightning speed attacks to be undodgeable.

Not at all.

There are several arguments that counter your assumption. Let's start:

The Official Raw says "This Jutsu is equal/equivalent to Amaterasu...it'll definitely not be dodged in this circumstance"

1) The circumstance = Itachi was blind, injured, very tired and was dying (due to sickness)

2) Stated to be equal to Amaterasu = this alone is a contradiction of what happened like a couple of minutes before; since, at first, half-CS2 Sasuke dodged Amaterasu.

Furthermore how many Shinobi have dodged/avoided/reacted to Amaterasu? Few examples:

- 4th Raikage

- Borushiki

- Juubito

- Base Naruto (EoS Valley of the End)

3) The range = Kirin scale/size played a massive role since it was big enough to vape a large hill.

4) Sasuke dodged Kirin = As you can see from the scans I posted above...Sasuke jumped out from Kirin too.

5) Zetsu and his hasty conclusions = during the whole fight between Itachi and Sasuke, Zetsu dropped several hasty conclusions, like declaring Itachi or Sasuke a premature victory...several times. Him calling something undodgeable would just be one of his hasty conclusions...especially when there are several things that debunk his statement.

Some of Pain's Durability Feats

Besides the ability to revive my whole Team thanks to Naraka Path...the Paths have shown to be quite hard to put damn and can sustain a lot of damage, especially Deva Path.

As I stated in my 1st post the Human Path was able to block a direct punch from SM Jiraiya with one hand...and before that he tanked a kick right on his face. Impressive since previously SM Jiraiya was able to yeeted away and oneshot the Giant Ox with a kick/punch, leaving a huge crater in the solid stone that dwarfs the pipes Jiraiya used to run away...you can notice how big a simple pipe is.

SM Jiraiya's physical attacks are comfortably around Large Hill / Small Mountain lvl. Yes, he's quite a tank.

You'll probably state that some of the Paths got killed by SM Narutos' Rasengan. I'll stop you right here, right now.

There are several things we have to take into consideration here:

1) The Rasengan aims to cause massive internal damage = this was clearly shown early in the manga, on two occasions: when Naruto used his first Rasengan ever landed on Kabuto. After taking the hit Kabuto healed his wound completely...just to cough blood and fall to the ground, defeated. This is because the internal damage caused by the Rasengan was too big for him to heal.

And the second is when Sasuke and Naruto fought at the rooftop of the hospital, before the Sasuke Retrieval Arc.

2) Sage Mode massively amps the potency of Ninjutsu:

No Caption Provided

3) SM Naruto exceeded Jiraiya's Sage Mode --- as stated by Fukasaku, hence SM Naruto was much stronger than Jiraiya ever was. This is also because Naruto mastered SM perfectly, while Jiraiya was using an incomplete one.

Obviously, SM Naruto's attack and stats are way bigger than Jiraiya's

No Caption Provided

4) Before getting defeated by Naruto's Rasengan Deva already tanked many attacks = Let's see how many attacks Deva tanked before that moment:

- Tanked multiple direct SM Naruto attacks, that scale way above SM Jiraiya ones (that were also amped by Frog Kata). A reminder that SM Naruto easily blocked the bullrush of the Giant Rhino, the same beast that was previously destroying city blocks and multi-story buildings...and then he yeeted it away like a doll.

- Unfazed by the shockwave created by Naruto turning into KN4, the same shockwave that leveled a huge part of a forest during Tenchi Bridge Arc.

- Tanked the repulsive force of his Shinra Tensei that sent him to the other side of the battlefield.

Survived the explosion of KN6 Naruto Bijuudama with some damage.

Cementing the Lightning Speed Debunk

Further cementing Lightning Magic speed debunk

There are several things that completely debunk Magic being equal/comparable to Natural Elements. Let's start:

Laxus’ lightning should be around the same speed as actual lightning, as he is able to summon lightning from the sky

Laxus lightning magic generates from an unknown location in the sky, it's not real cloud-to-ground lightning. This was confirmed two times during the series:

1) When Laxus casted it against Wahl --- we have Gray's statement about the weather; it was a sunny day, no clouds. In fact, even Lyon Vastia was surprised that lightning happened.

2) When Laxus casted it against Natsu (Thunder Tribe Arc) --- Laxus and Natsu were fighting inside a building, Cardia Cathedral.

his lightning is also able to be attracted by lightning rods.

The Gajeel's iron rod feat wouldn't work. Lightning is when energy flows along electrons which means it takes the shortest path to the nearest electrons/conductor. No matter how much iron that rod Gajeel made was the lightning wouldn't change directions so suddenly especially being so close...and natural lightning is an electrostatic discharge that connects two electrically charged portions of clouds or between a cloud and the ground.

We have seen some scans of CG lightning however the very speed of natural lightning is possible because of the electrons pathway and concentration. Laxus manipulates his lightning magic so its speed will be drastically slower than natural lightning.

Also while a lot of people won't agree the viewers can clearly see his lightning as it travels.

If it was natural it would be quick arks.

Laxus doesn't shoot lightning he shoots electricity.

Actually, the scans you have posted are cropped.

There's a missing part that clearly shows that the lightning summoned by Laxus happened after, and only after, those Wahl's bullets getting destroyed by an electrified "aura/force field".

The anime gives us a clear time frame of the feats, confirming they are not related to each other, hence confirming Laxus didn't summon that lightning spell to destroy those bullets.

1) Wahl shoots his bullets

2) Laxus's electrified force field/aura destroys those bullets

3) Laxus summons that lightning spell against Wahl

- But if Lightning Magic is not as fast nor similar to natural lightning how fast it is?

Well, thanks to Mavis (the #1 genius of FT verse) we know the exact time required to dodge lightning magic...2 seconds. From a distance that is no bigger than 20-30 meters, based on the scans.

Still not convinced yet? Let's see what the Anime tells us:

Jellal Strength Counters

Although I think you did a good job with the 1st part of your post regarding Possessed Evil Jellal vs Natsu, there are several misconceptions that should be addressed.

Let's start with:

Jellal was able to push back and somewhat damage a Dragon form Acnologia, which is very impressive

This is factually wrong.

1st of all Jellal didn't put a single scratch on Dragon Form Acnologia nor he was able to push him back of a single meter, as your scan clearly shows.

Furthermore, Dragon Acno was completely unfazed by Jellal's Meteor impacting on him. This cuz Magic (to a certain degree) does not work on Acnologia, as he stated and shown multiple times, even in one of your scans vs the 7 DS.

What really hurt and pushed him back was the Blue Pegasus ship impacting against Acno, pushing him away and dazing him for enough time to allow Erza and Wendy to jump on the ship and fly away.

Acnologia was able to fodderize Gildarts, who himself is capable of destroying Large hill- Small mountain sized structures quite casually.

1) That fight was off-screened, hence we don't know what actually happened, since Gildarts didn't explain how he got defeated or else.

2) Correction: Gildarts performed that large hill-small mountain lvl feat via Crush. Magic. And we know that Magic doesn't work on Acnologia.

3) Acnologia has the flying advantage. Gildarts couldn't do much anyway.

Hexagonal Barrier

an attack from Acnologia. What’s impressive here, is that this attack should be greater than the attack Acnologia used to one shot God Serena, someone comparable to Gildarts, who in turn possesses Mountain+ level physicals.

1) Not pure physical. Gildarts performed his feats only thanks to his Crush, that is Magic. Every attack performed by Gildarts during the whole series is thanks to Magic (that was also shown he can't control his Magic pretty well since Magnolia citizens need to erect walls to protect their homes when Gildarts comes to town).

No Caption Provided

2) While Dragon Acnologia is indeed stronger than Gildarts...how can we quantify the damage output of that unnamed Human Acnologia attack? Remember that Dragon Acno defeated Gildarts, not Human Acno. Gildarts talked about a black dragon, not a Dragon Slayer/Human.

This attack was able to briefly knock back Acnologia, which is quite impressive as Acnologia was able to pretty muchno sell attacks from the Seven Dragon Slayers during their final battle

You have to take into consideration the Acnologia that fought against the 7 DS was RoT absorbed Acnologia, way stronger than Pre-RoT Acno, the one who fought against Jellal.

And as always...Acnologia no sold attacks from the DS because Magic does not work against him. Stated.

Humanized Dragon < Dragon Form--- At last but not least you have to remember that the stats difference between a Humanized Dragon and a real Dragon Form is quite huge. There are several examples during the series that shows that Human-Dragon is weaker than real Dragon-Form, like:

  • - Irene turns into a dragon and "oneshots" Erza with one slap
  • Human Selene getting defeated by Suzaku; just to later confirm her Dragon Form is stronger

You should take this big stats gap into consideration for the whole discussion about Human Acno vs Jellal.

Final Counters

Pain, one of the strongest members, was struggling against an incomplete Kyuubi Naruto, who shouldn't scale to the full tailed beasts. And the tailed beasts we've seen get captured by the Akatsuki, were captured while their respective Jinchuriki weren't fully transformed.

Wrong, Matatabi went Bijuu Mode here against Hidan and Kakuzu.

No Caption Provided

Both of these members took her down no problem.

Pain also fought against a creature (KN4-6 Naruto) that can easily obliterate whole mountains and mountain-sized areas.

Once he attacks the Deva path enough times, I have no doubt that he would be able to figure out that it has some sort of interval in between jutsu usage

I actually disagree. Jellal would be hard-pressed by 6 enemies (+several Giant Rinne-Beasts) going after him. Enemies that are also faster than him, with perfect synergy, shared vision, and some tricky beast with troublesome abilities like invisibility, nuke-spam, and multiplication-via-damage.

For example, Kakashi managed to partially understand how Deva's abilities work due to several things:

1)He had some knowledge about how Paths operates thanks to Fukasaku. Something that Jellal does not have here.

2) He fought against a single Path most of the time...and then he team-worked with other Shinobi, like Choza and Choji.

3) He's is a renowned strategical and analytical genius; as shown during the whole series and against Deva. Something that Jellal is never shown to be.

Even SM Naruto engaged the Six Paths with:

- knowledge

- team-work (Bunta, Hiro, Ken, Fukasaku, Shima and multiple SM Kage Bunshin)

- a lot of preparation

...and he almost lost the fight if it wasn't for the Kyuubi

which would in turn give Jellal an incentive to start spamming magic attacks.

Spamming magic attacks would be quite hard if not impossible, especially aiming against a single opponent out of 6+ as shown in my Speed Debate Preta can simply intercept all his magical attacks, that are the 99,9% of Jellal's feats btw, or Deva can just shield all of 'em via Barrier. Their shared vision, overwhelming number, long-range attacks, and chakra sensing ability won't allow Jellal to find a single opening to land a hit.

I'd say Jellal's barrier spell would also come in quite handy when avoiding ST.

His barrier might come in handy against Asura's missiles and lasers, but ST is a shockwave; a repulsive force. Something that cannot be seen.

And I strongly believe a Shinra Tensei of the caliber Deva used against the Toad Trio will oneshot Jellal.

the version of CT he uses seems to only be used for restraining targets since IIRC

Restrain and kill. CT literally attracts mountains and solid ground, in order to crush the opponent under billions of tons of rocks that are big and/or way bigger than mountains.

Naruto himself stated that if you get caught up in it, you're done for...and that he only managed to barely break free from it cuz he turned into KN8. Before that even KN6 was helpless in front of CT's gravity...and remember that Deva was about to enlarge it aswell.

1- Erza, one of the strongest Fairy Tail Guild members, almost lost her leg due to the weight of a rock of this size. Suffering a huge damage:

2- Jellal almost died (he ended KO'd) when Acnologia started squashing him. That of course is not even comparable to getting crushed down by dozens of large mountain-sized rocks/mountain pieces. The same Acnologia who got injured and forced to leave Jellal due to 120mm bullets.

This jutsu has a weakness and that is the black sphere in the sky used for forming it, and I believe that Jellal would have the common sense to target this black sphere and destroy it

Debatable. When Itachi, Hachibi, and Naruto managed to destroy CT it was thanks to:

- Naruto's knowledge about how CT works.

- The combined force of all 3 of them firing their strongest long-range attacks against it before CT started getting too big to be destroyed.

Hachibi's Bijuudama (who should be above KN6 Bijuudama), KCM Naruto's Rasenshuriken (We've seen that an RS reach multi-mountain range in terms of explosion), and Itachi's Susanoo Yasaga Magatama that should not be inferior to KCM Naruto's RS.

As I posted before, an incomplete CT was able to tank several KN6 Naruto's Bijuudama aka several mountain-busting energetic attacks.

Jellal here has also the disadvantage of not knowing how CT works, hence he needs to be faster than Naruto, Bee, and Itachi to realize that he needs to destroy the sphere before it gets too big to be destroyed. Something that I believe he won't be able to do.

via Abyss break or Grand Chariot, effectively ending the Jutsu cast, which should not be a hard process considering the sphere pulls attacks in.

1) Abyss Break = Abyss Break DC is stated to be able to destroy FT Guild till Cardia Cathedral. That would be around Large Town level, considering the distance between FT Guild and the Cathedral. It won't even tickle Chibaku Tensei.

2) Grand Chariot ---

While I think that's a nice spell it is not enough to destroy it since: GC is a close-range spell, hence Jellal won't be able to use it before he ends fully blocked crushed down on the CT (that can restrain the immense strength of KN6 Naruto). And because it doesn't carry enough DC to destroy it. GC was not able to KO even the weakest Oracion Seis members, Sorano and Racer, that their best-shown durability feats are extremely low considering both got one-shotted by Gray and Lucy back in the Oracion Seis arc.

Meteor to enhance his speed and fly away from being pulled in, and then destroy the sphere regardless.

Jellal will NOT be able to fly away from a gravitational force that can lift mountains and break them into pieces... Furthermore, starting to fly away would actually lead to the opposite result, which means Jellal will be pulled in even faster.

Jellal could also use the spell Mirror Water to deflect these ranged attacks, which should be quite an effective way of dealing with this Path.

I agree that Mirror Water can deflect Asura's missiles, yes. But there's always the problem of the other Paths and the summoned Giant Beasts to deal with.

These animals don't seem to have any ranged attacks

Posted before on the Animal Path section.

Jellal could also use Bind Snake or Darkness Cage to restrain some of the summons, then use another spell such as Abyss Break or GC to take it out.

As I said before those are spells that only Evil Possessed Jellal is able to use.

I do agree that this Path would be quite useful in this scenario, but once Jellal figures out that it has the ability to absorb his spells, he could simply switch to H2H combat

The speed gap and the help of all the other Paths would be too big for Jellal. Let alone that the Paths can block and tank SM Jiraiya's physical attacks, that are massively above Jellal's ones. A reminder that Jellal's feats are all Magic Based. He lacks any decent pure-physical feat that does not involve magic. Food for Preta Path.

Now this is an ability that would be quite troublesome, however, once Jellal figures out that this Path can revive the other Paths, I have no doubt that he would prioritize taking out this Path first.

It would be extremely hard for Jellal to realize how Naraka Path's ability works, since Nagato usually hides him or put him behind the other Paths, in order to protect him. In order to take Naraka down, SM Naruto needed a strategy, teamwork, Kage Bunshin, and smoke bombs. Something that Jellal does not possess.

While this is true, this illusion spell isn't supposed to act as a guranteed win condition, I believe it would come in quite handy when dealing with the Paths, as Jellal could cast it on one of the Paths and prepare another spell to take it out, since even with the aid of the Rinnegan, it would take a bit for them to figure out they're in an illusion,

As I already said the Paths are just dead puppets in Nagato's hands. They do not have emotions, nor feel pain (confirmed by Ibiki Morino).

The Illusion is used to scare and mind break the opponent? How could it work against someone that cannot feel pain nor cannot be scared?

Let alone the Illusion seems to work only against one opponent, the shared vision of the Paths and the Giant Beasts will counter and nullify it immediately since they see the reality and not the visual illusion that one of them is seeing.

And well...one of them is basically a robot...

A Grand Chariot + Sema combo would be able to take out all of the Six Paths without much issue if Jellal does use it

I doubt it.

1) GC and Sema failed to kill the weakest members of Oracion Seis, Racer, and Sorano. That got one-shotted by Lucy and Gray.

2) Regarding GC:

- Preta can just absorb the spell, nullifying the attack.

- Deva can dissipate it via Shinra Tensei or protect the other Paths via Barrier.

- The Paths can trick Jellal via Kawarimi No Jutsu or Kage Bunshin.

- The Paths are fast enough to avoid it without effort.

Regarding Sema:

- It's quite debatable if Preta can absorb it since he has already absorbed not-energy-made ranged attacks...but let's just say he can't. Deva can simply destroy it via Shinra Tensei, divert its trajectory via Bansho Tenin or send it against Jellal via Bansho.

It should be noted that Sema consumes a lot of Jellal's stamina. He was visibly exhausted after having used it:

No Caption Provided

The Paths have enough external durability to tank it anyway, especially Deva.

The Preta Path can be overloaded by Jellal continously feeding him large amounts of magic

Nope. This won't work. Preta was able to absorb a huge amount of Jutsu (even Senpo Jutsu) without any problem nor limits. The only reason why he turned into a frog statue is because SM Naruto forced him to absorb too much Senjutsu: natural energy + spiritual energy + life energy ---> combined.

And this was only effective cuz Preta was not trained to perfectly balance the 3 types of energy.

CONCLUSION

  • I've further debunked Jellal's speed being any close to lightning timing, also cementing Pain's speed advantage in terms of reactions and combat speed, which would put most of the Paths at MHS+ easily.
  • I've debunked the AP of Jellal's Magics.
  • Pain's perfect teamwork and synergy would be extremely troublesome for Jellal since they work as one body and the Mage has no knowledge nor preparation to deal with all of them and the Summons at once.
  • Pain outnumbers Jellal 6 to 1 also counting the Giant Beasts the Animal Path can spam-summon. Jellal would end up completely surrounded from every angle, even from above...and all his movements and attacks will be tracked down via Rinnegan Shared Vision.
  • Most if not all Jellal's spells will be nullified and absorbed by Preta Path, basically like how Acnologia dealt with him.
  • Pain/Nagato's stamina and amount of energy hugely dwarf Jellal's. Allowing the Paths to fight for hours.
  • Jellal would also be "traumatized" since his opponents do not feel any pain nor fatigue nor fear. In a battle, these important factors decrease the morale of the opponent.
  • Even if Meteor is still not fast enough to be a problem for the Path's speed advantage, it can be dealt with Bansho Tenin, which will either reduce Jellal's speed, block it or attract him against Deva or another Path that will freely attack him via Black Deceivers or Human Path' Soul Stealing ability or else; killing the Mage.
  • Getting tagged by Human Path and Naraka Path would be the end of Jellal since their abilities would completely immobilize and then kill him. Especially thanks to the many distractions the other Paths will cause.
  • Animal Path can just let his Chameleon swallow the most important Paths, granting them the advantage of complete invisibility and the opportunity to spam their strongest attacks/abilities against Jellal, that won't be able to detect them. This combined with the Evocations like Giant Chimera and Drill-Beaked Bird is gonna be the final nail on Jellal's coffin.
  • The range of Deva's Final Shinra Tensei is too immense for Jellal to be able to dodge or avoid it, also considering that the other Paths can distract him while Deva drops FST from the sky.

Thanks for Reading
