Carl Lucas was son to Etta and James Lucas, a popular pastor in a surrounding area of Savannah, Georgia. James also had another son, named Willis Stryker, after having an affair with his mistress whom he impregnated. James’s never saw him as a son, but Carl and Willis quickly became friends, and later childhood best friends, to which they didn’t know they were related. One day, Carl and Willis went joyriding in a red Corvette discussing Prince and Michael Jackson, until they were pulled over and arrested. Because James was a popular pastor, he swayed the judge to send Carl to the Army instead of prison, while Willis didn’t get the same treatment and was sent to Juvenile hall. Carl served in the army, and later became a cop in Georgia until he was framed for a crime he didn’t commit by the former Willis out of jealousy. During his time in prison, Carl was subject to brutality by a sadistic, correctional officer named Albert Rackham. During this time, Carl also fell in love with psychologist Reva Connors, while the former did the same. Rackham forced Carl to participate in underground prison fights, in which Carl quickly rose to the top as champion. Rackham also found out that Carl had told Reva about the operation, and threatened to shut it down in which he sent two goons named Comanche and Shades to brutalize him. Cage was then placed in ICU, desperate to save him Reva told the prison Doctor, Bernstein to do whatever he could to do just that. Bernstein placed Lucas in a tank, filling it with multiple healing-property chemicals. When Rackham found out about this, he attempted to sabotage the process resulting in Carl obtaining superhuman abilities. Carl using these superhuman abilities, escaped prison to NY faked his death, reunited with and married Connors, and lives under a new alias, “Luke Cage”. Everything was great, until Reva Connors was allegedly killed in a bus accident by a drunk driver, little did he know it was fellow super heroine Jessica Jones who did so when she was under a sadistic man, named Kilgrave’s influence. Cage set up shop in uptown, owning a bar utilizing his free-time by having sexual relations with multiple women, one of them being Jessica Jones. Cage later found out his alleged wife’s killer work schedule, intercepted, and attempted to kill him only for his attempt to be sabotage by Jessica and revealed it was Kilgrave who made her do so, eventually forgiving her. Cage then goes after Kilgrave only to find himself subject to his control, and despite him mentally resisting, he makes Cage go after and attempt to kill Jessica which results in her shooting him in the chin with a shotgun and nearly killing him. After this, he and Jessica part ways only for him to work part time at Pop’s barbershop in Harlem. His life once again became complicated due to the actions of Harlem Kingpin, Cottonmouth Stokes, whose henchman Tone killed Pop, and only ended after Cottonmouth was dead. Blamed for the murder of the former, Cage was forced to go on the run being pursued by ally Misty Knight and his brother Willis Stryker, who was wreaking havoc on Harlem. Eventually Cage proved it wasn’t him who was responsible for Cottonmouth’s death and defeated Stryker but was arrested by police to continue his original sentence. Cage was eventually freed with the help of lawyer, Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, and returned to Harlem only to find out again it was being terrorized, this time by a group called the “Hand” whom Cage teamed up with other super powered heroes to stop. Cage later, gaining recognition after his brawl with Stryker and actions to stop crime in Harlem found himself saving Harlem once again from a Jamaican crime Boss named “Bushmaster” and Cottonmouth’s Cousin, Mariah Stokes. Cage eventually took down both, and later became the new owner of Harlem’s most popular nightclub “Harlem’s Paradise” in which he now maintains relations and activities with the city’s crime bosses to keep crime out of Harlem.
Luke is ridiculously strong for a street level character, I'd argue he pasts most of Oliver's past adversaries in terms of brawn.
Sends the 220+ lb. Diamondback hurling through the air despite taking a beating beforehand.
Hurts and even floors Jessica Jones with his strikes. Keep in mind, she's a superhuman who's more or less on par with Oliver in terms of durability so when these blows land they're going to prove to be absolutely devastating.

Tosses a 400 lb. tire and send its flying through the air. Take note of the matter of time, it took to reach the ground.
A trump card in this fight. I'd argue Luke is more durable than say Mirakuru users Oliver has faced in the past.
Luke has no sold gunfire on various occasions ranging from small arms to heavy machine guns.
No sold many explosions whether they'd be bar or trailer loaded TNT.
When braced, he can tank punches from Jessica Jones as if they were baby taps. Jessica has proven strong enough to kill a human with a full strike with no momentum.
Context is important, and one should note at the time (Jessica Jones 1X12 "Take a Bloody Number") Luke was under Kilgrave's mind control and was commanded to attack and kill Jessica so it's safe to say she was doing anything to protect herself including not holding back. Luke also tanked many more strikes from her in the same fight.
These aren't even Cage's best feats, and still they aid in my statement when I say Oliver has little to no way to effectively hurt the former.
I'll admit Oliver has proven to be quite fast in combat, and with the aide of his mastery of martial arts he's indeed a formidable opponent. However, even with that speed tagging Oliver isn't beyond Cage's abilities. Contrary to what Comic Vine believes and it's stereotypes revolving around Luke, he isn't slow and he certainly he isn't unskilled (which I'll dive into in my next post).
Momentarily keeps up with Double Dose Bushmaster in combat, impressive as the former previously bullet-timed in a scene before.
Even disarms Black Sky-amped Elektra. The same Elektra who proved to be an effective bullet-timer, dodging and deflecting bullets with her sword. Albeit, it did take a while to get to that point but even then it's still impressive especially she's more or less as skilled as Oliver and certainly faster.
Literally, plays out the same way as "Cyrus Gold vs. Arrow" except this time Oliver doesn't have any gear and is facing a more skilled, faster, and durable opponent. It'll take a while, but eventually Cage will tag him and when he does there will be no punches to pull and he will beat him down. Oliver may be a formidable foe, but he's not ready to face Harlem's Hero. Once he takes Oliver out, he's gonna take Felicity out for dinner ;)
"Once you go black..."
@the_hajduk you're up.
I wonder how long it'll take Nick to abandon this one.
I’m gonna guess as soon as he reads the opener
Seriously though TH's style doesn't resemble Nick's at all.
Alter egos on CV are interesting.
Aren't they just great? Now no one bothers me about stuff because they think I'm a noob lol
