This was a real treat to read through on so many levels: I have a soft spot for Composite battles because of the creativity such a fight always has, leaving lots of variables and therefore testing the debating skill of each individual far more than a standard fight would.
What is more- I’m aware of the ‘too many variables’ factor so I can understand the nerfs and restrictions even if it does go against the purpose of ‘Composite’ as Vivas has stated.
Bleach is also the only HST Manga/Anime I haven’t completed in one way- I’m only on chapter 14 so most of my knowledge on it comes from years of Vine debating and what Princearagorn1 + MrIngenuity have informed me about it.
I’ve watched the Naruto anime from start to finish so I can understand in depth motivations/tiers etc however I’m far from an expert. Out of 10 my Naruto knowledge is about a 7.
There isn’t a fiction I know better than One Piece so apologies in advance, Shirso if I’m extra critical of your posts :P
OPENERS:
DJH: Aesthetically pleasing, structured well with the Stat run down and the theme song addition users add I quite enjoy because it puts personality into their posts.
Naruto has a shit ton of abilities lol so it would take a long ass time go through each methodically so I’m pleased to see you kept things succinct with a focus on the most powerful/bread and butter Jutsus from Naruto and Sasuke.
Criticism: In debates I like to imagine I’m fighting someone to the death and if I see my opponent is bleeding from the side, I’d target that wound like a shark smelling blood. This is an analogy for using every advantage possible: I appreciate it’s just an opener but you could have honed in on the strengths of the Shinobi compared to the Marine and Shinigami for strategy like Genjutsu, started a strong case for it then so ya readers have it in our minds but more importantly to make life as difficult as possible for Shirso and Zeus.
Opener out of 10- 8
Shirso:
That Marine pic is so sexy I’m fangasming rn.
You did exactly what I would have done and what I would have liked to see DJH do: start a case based on an advantage OP has over Naruto and Bleach, the stats/defence. Nice.
Structured very well and an easy read, lexically flowing like a waterfall.
You do a fantastic job of presenting what an opener should be: concise yet detailed, hyping up what your character can do to the audience to get them invested for later posts as I’ve seen you do with the Armament Haki section after talking about Eneru’s lightning.
Excellent job starting with the most powerful/hax DFs like Edward’s, Law’s, Eneru’s and Moria’s and again you did what I would have done with listing some more esoteric DFs like Pink’s and Absalom’s.
You’ve gone for the kill here by giving your opponents a lot to deal with/plan for/take into account.
Criticism: only one, you’ve given the Marine a NLF by saying they’re immune to blunt force because of Luffy’s Devil Fruit which would be the case in-universe however for cross-universe fights, you should only go by the best shown durability feat or in this case a mix because its composite.
Anyway, 9/10
Zeus:
I appreciate the run down of special abilities/concepts etc due to my relative Bleach ignorance and it’s kept succinct enough to not drag on or clutter up your post.
Cool and informative gifs which make your arguments easier to understand moreso than reading scans that can fall victim to being tedious.
I love how you’re going to focus on offensive powers for Shinigamis and Hollows as that’s the best method in free for all CaVs: attack and attack with your best.
Criticisms: you could and should have cut off the fat from your posts- you spend valuable words giving background info instead of just focusing on what the powers/abilities do and more importantly what they will do to the Marine and Shinobi specifically. It isn’t enough to explain how someone is impressive, it’s crucial to explain how EFFECTIVE they will be in relation to your adversaries.
The fat makes your post a difficult read and you have a glaring weakness when you talked about that ink power cloning and their incompetency. This is a CaV so don’t include any weaknesses your character has, for someone like me and the audience- we need to be confident your character will win and that’s expressed through your words.
If you’re not confident then you won’t convince anyone of your argument.
With that all said though I’m very impressed taking into account this is your first CaV. It’s structured well and competent all things considered.
7/10
Shirso wins the first round IMO
R2.
DJH: pretty awesome surgical breakdown of advanced CoO vs Sharingan body reading that I completely agree with.
Very valid points regarding CoO’s aura sensing vs Dojutsu meant for looking at ‘auras’
Anyway I’m not gonna go over every point you made because that is longer than Mother Snake so summary of your counters to S + BZ: excellent. You have me convinced the Ninja will win at this point, Shirso is a great debater but he has a bad habit of getting lazy with his lexis with grandiose claims/statements (‘99%’) and untrue assessments that’s only easy to poke holes in if you’re on his level of debating or above it.
You’ve found the holes and shot bullets into them. Yes, Darth, you Bad Boy 2 the bone. Shit just got real.
Shirso:
Goddammit you silly Sanji fanboy. Here we bloody go again with your bias. No he doesn’t have better CoO than Katakuri and by ‘fans’ hyping him up, you mean you, Kroczilla, SkySanji and Kingoflightning.
Oda saying Sanji is the CoO specialist of the M3 and therefore better than Luffy and Zoro is only relevant prior to Luffy vs Katakuri where Straw Hat went through a power creep during that battle and evolved his Haki into future sight.
Katakuri’s Haki is evolved to where he can see events like bombs going off, words being spoken etc whereas normal level CoO is restricted to limited 1 v 1 precog.
Sanji has never shown event based precognition and currently Luffy’s CoO is better.
You didn’t adequately counter DJH’s argument, you’re not focusing on what he said in regards to the Sharingan reading muscle movements etc you’re being vague.
‘this method has become more and more obsolete against Katakuri level CoO.’
No it hasn’t. It’s a case by case basis where speed and unpredictability used to overwhelm precognition is still a valid option evidenced by G4SM Luffy vs Dogtooth which you’ve omitted because it weakens your G4BM vs Katakuri side note. Very sneaky.
Very good points regarding WB’s quakes and Kizaru’s lasers not being able to be ‘muscle read’ by Sharingan.
TLDR: I’m somewhat satisfied overall but I’m still more convinced by DJH’s counter.
BZ: daaaaaammmmmnnn you really came into your own here, Bleach is crazy hax and you have me convinced Kubo is gonna win.
Again, I don’t know Bleach that well so I can’t be as critical as I am with One Piece and Naruto but your debating skills are high tier and you’ve shown good composure.
Your structuring is sound as well :D
Great showing from all three but I’m giving this to BZ with Shirso and DJH as joint second because S’s opener was better than Darth’s but Darth’s counters were better than Shirso’s.
