Captain Atom vs Doctor Strange

This has never been done, to my knowledge. Classic Strange versus Pre Crisis Captain Atom. Neither one is holding back. Who wins this one?

@retconcrisis: @blackdog2009: While you are both correct, Classic Doctor Strange is the most powerful Marvel hero on Earth (In my opinion he is to Marvel Earth what Wally West is to DC Earth. I think Strange can match CA's versatility, making this match more interesting than many other Captain Atom threads I've seen. Strange and Atom definitely have equal chances of winning here, though it will by no means by easy for either of them.

@shiryu: I never actually said it would be easy in anyone's favor. I believe that this would be an awesome fight. If CA were to win, it'd only by by 6/10 chances. I agree with you, because most CA threads either involve him winning with little difficulty to losing badly to high cosmic beings.

Strange takes a strong majority.

@retconcrisis: Oh, I know you never said that. Sorry for suggesting that. And yeah, I think the problem with most CA threads is that nobody can find good characters to match him against. There are few as versatile as he is but many more powerful than him. Unfortunately he is constantly pitted against flying bricks that don't have powers as versatile as his (Superboy, Superman, Captain Marvel, etc.) By the way, how physically strong do you think Strange is?

@shiryu: Yeah, people think Superman can just heat vision him or punch him to death. Superman is my favorite super hero, but srsly?

Strange as far as I've seen never uses pure physical strength, he probably has at most near-peak human strength, probably lower, and only relies on his magical abilities. Unlike someone like John Con who rarely uses his magic skill and mostly uses his mind only.

@retconcrisis: Oh, thanks. I also don't think people realize that CA is at least as strong as Superman. Then there's the fact that he can tap into the quantum field to boost his abilities. AND he can recreate red sun radiation. Superman just wouldn't win against him. Some of the fanboys on this site are just crazy.

@shiryu: If CA taps into the Quantum Field he can create and destroy universe with a thought. I think he is fairly underrated here on the Vine.

@kingares109: Scans are hard to post from a tablet, sorry. But Classic Strange is stupidly powerful, he could solo Marvel Earth with ease in my opinion. He once attacked Galactus and hurt him so bad the Fantastic Four had to rescue him. He killed Shuma Gorath twice, neutralized Silver Surfer's cosmic powers, taken control over Mjolnir, moved and busted a moon after fighting for 48 hours straight, busted a planet with one blast, survived a supernova that has turned into a black hole (then proceeded to close that black hole shut), he can freeze time, etc etc.

CA is extremely powerful but Classic Dr. Strange is easily the strongest superhero in Marvel IMO.

Strange if he had some time to prepare some spells and figure out what CA is, if it's just a random encounter into a fight then Captain Atom takes it easily.
